You do realize those stones were made during the Cold War, when people thought end times were upon us. Guess what, nothing happened. And did you ever think, due to the setting in the world at that time, that maybe those who wrote 500,000 as a recommendation on how to live life after nuclear holocaust and war? A guide to remaining survivors? Stop smoking so much. Pick up a book and read. Put down the Xbox controller and take a walk from time to time. Your mind is starting to slip. Sorry

I can't understand many of the people on ATS, ideology-wise, as duality manifests itself very strongly in politics.
May I ask, as a noob, that we put that aside?

OP,
"People of Europe, Rise Up !" was in Greece in 2009?
Are you with "Démocracie réelle maintenant?" Are you at La Bastille, les indignés ? I thought it was next Sunday? I'll be there mate.
(I'd like to talk to you about a Coluche-like internet campaign for 2012, please pm mon gros Q d'ici dimanche)

Why not France?
And why would it be a muslim revolution ? You guys watch the Fox from too close, I think it ate your brain. No offense.
If France still exists today, it's mainly because of those 3 words, and what led to it, since then...not much. We lost our terroir to the chemical companies, and our social security has been left to bleed out so...might as well live to it. Not a reform, not a benign change, a good-old revolution.
Liberté does not mean freedom. Liberté is freewill. It was the Bourgeois taking over, but this loud cry was from the people.
Egalité did, and does not exist.
And Fraternité is sooo hard to come by these days, it boils my heart with pleasure when I witness it.
Job, bills and rent, cannot prevent people from rising up. Weed and video games can....

Why not rise up? we pretty much all have elections in 2012 ?
We all know this "crisis" was engineered a long time ago, in order to make us beg for the solution.Their "clé de voûte". Growth is the arithmetical opposite of sustainability. Let's not forget that. All that growth has to crash back down some day. But the world currency is not going to fix anything for us ants, useless eaters and cannon fodder.
So why not the rest of you?
Why wouldn't we organize a worldwide ATS f***-off to TPTB?
Why not resurrect the IWW? Why can't we vote Chomsky as head of the IMF?
Why wouldn't we all vote blank in 2012 ?
Why wouldn't we create alternate moneys? non-hybrid Seeds? Free-Time coupons like the one in Japan?

By the way, have you seen the security in Deauville for the G8 ? Only residents, around 4000, are allowed. No trains, no cars, no pedestrian can enter without valid authorization. Not a passeport, or an ID.
Someone care to comment ?

I hope I was, at least, almost coherent. If not, please excuse me.
Peace

IF FRANCE EXISTS TODAY ITS BECAUSE OF ONE NATION THAT GAVE IT LIFE- USA USA USA
That is something you will never be able to deny! You can argue about opinions all day long, but this is a FACT! No arguing with facts.

Case in point World War I
Case in point World War II

See, this is what I mean when I say the americans rooting for revolution are not the same, in fact in a way completely opposite the french doing it in their country!

At this time, France has a president that is more conservative. He was voted in because a majority of the people got fed up with the problems like immigration and the way arabs were shielded from having to respect laws like the french. The unemployment system is being re-worked so that people on it are obligated to actually look for a job. He supports individual merit- people can now work overtime if they want, for double pay!
It is the socialists that don't like all this and complain that they are repressed by the government.

It is the opposite situation in the US, where the liberals got the presidency, so the more conservatives are the ones that feel they are under repression by the present administration!

The fact is, the system you have right now was voted in democratically, and a large part of the people wanted it.

What each of you is against and would like to see changed is totally contrasting! The present systems are totally contrasting between the two.

ok ! people who want talk about immigrant please open a thread because it's start to be annoying..

Why? In your original post one of your stated points of revolt was to protect immigrants from 'xenophobes'. Therefore discussing immigration in this thread is not just relevant, it's vital!

Speaking for myself, I view the immigration issue as a key example of how people like you want a 'politically correct' revolution whilst never realising that political correctness was created by the people you claim to be revolting against. You're playing their game by their rules.

Not a truer word spoken in this thread. If you cannot even recognise the obvious - that the New World Order use mass-immigration to enslave both natives and immigrants, then you really need to investigate the forces you wish to destroy.

Anyone seen the newest rambo movie?

"Burnett: So what Im asking is that we compensate you for a few hours
of your time that will help change peoples lives.
John J. Rambo: Are you bringing any weapons?
Burnett: Of course not.
John J. Rambo: Youre not changing anything"

So my question to you is ...are you bringing weapons ?

Hello everyone.

People in Greece are peacefully protesting in all major cities. Tens of thousands of people have gathered in front of the Greek parliament in "Syntagma Square".

You can watch live streaming from Athens, Greece here (streaming may stop at any time)

Actually, in most recent waves, it is the people who revolted in their country that made them come here! Tunisians for example. If we had another revolution in France, especially carried out by people who do not have a plan to set in place immediately, there would be much chaos and many french would have to run elsewhere to survive.
The people who were content with the present government and elected it would also have to fight the revolutionaries, and run if they lost.

Revolution is never a peaceful evolution.

The monstrosity you describe would not exist in a free market because people would be free to vote with thier wallets and feet and take thier business else where and businesses that did not provide a good product or service would go out of business without government protection or bailouts etc. Market regulation in the name of consumer protection is nothing more then protectionism for the politically connected big business.
I'm a socialist, but I realize that's still a bad word. I agree, government should let the free market flounder on its own. However, government should go into the business of necessities. If government then fails at providing for its people, it fails under the rules that people demand. However, the former hunter gathers demand these rules because the minority who benefit from them have the money to fuel the propaganda machine.

What you fail to understand is in order for government to provide necessities it must steal from some and give to others. This is the flaw in current socialist thinking. Any society based on theft (all are today, there is no free market) is destined to fail. You are seeing the fruits of socialism right now in the break down of society and the unsustainable theft of the peoples fruits and given to others. What you opine for is a larger share in the spoils of this theft instead of government keeping most of it for thier mischief.

Provided you do not use or condone the use of violence, I wholeheartedly support your efforts and wish you luck from California. I have been aware of the economic and cultural issues in France (and throughout the world, really,) and I hope that you will achieve the ideals you aspire to realize.

Peace.

Of course of course...the "traité de versailles" was a business contract/promise to wage war again 15 to 20 years later. Without the US we'd still be rebuilding from WWI.
What I meant by "mainly" was that, if you take our cultural and social heritage away (that can be fairly well summed up to those 3 words) we don't have much to show for.
Especially since Reagan and Thatcher's son has been elected.

And coquine, (don't know how to reply to two posts) I understand you've had it awfully rough, and I admire your force d'âme, but environment is more to blame than the people itself. We failed you and them, with an absurd urbanism, lousy schools, and underfunded judiciary system.
Need for social acceptance can make you a thug, a crook, as well as a bigot. Do not blame them.
If you were born and raised in la Courneuve, you'd have to work so hard and go through your life being rejected, to get a semi-decent job, being discriminated almost all the way.
The kids there, how would you make them choose education over their neighborhood?
My brother is preparing a thesis in Sociology, but without our parents, he couldn't have. And for what, he won't get a job. Fundamental Research is dead in France. What do you want for your kids ? banking degrees ? insurance degrees ?
The jobs are in Paris but you have to pay 50€/m² of rent. So you have no choice but to stay in your concrete jungle. nobody would have given you the place anyway, your parents can't vouch for you, they're poor too.
I'm french and white, so I'm the most privileged little pri** you know, and still, I can't blame the youth, neither for burnin' nor lootin'

Democracy does not exist, Oligarchy is what it is, and has been for a very long time.
And we, cannon fodderand useless eaters, aren't worth our masters' time and effort.

I truly hope to see global uprising, reuniting Pangea. And I'm counting on ATS.
Peace

I think I made it clear that government would have to win on your terms. I realize that you are everywhere and this competition for freedom cannot be avoided due to you setting the terms for the showdown. I think I also made it clear that this or "the" government will not accomplish what I desire. The corruption is deep. If I had my own team, I could win. You'd also get what you want as I would declare anything not bought from government caveat emptor. You win by default, as you are already playing the game "the" government wants you to play. You therefore have the numbers, the army, the money, and the propaganda. Congratulations.

The 'age of the sense of entitlement' is over and those who have grown up not knowing any other are the ones demanding a change, for what? More easy money and cheap goods?

I've not seen anything approaching a coherent manifesto, road-map, alternative solution etc

Well, do you protesters and revolutionaries have an offer of an alternate solution that can be stated clearly and coherently? If so, do so.

ok now let's go back to our revolution, and don't be afraid we are not savage ...

I already did. I realize I'm outnumbered by the government and those whose support the ruling class. I'm aware I'm forced to live in your world. I know, it'd be easier for me if I'd just take the blue pill.
