Aren't you the same guy who posted that you would just straight up kill anyone who wandered onto your property after a SHTF scenario without even talking to them first? Why would you be concerned about the well being of the competition? You seemed like you couldn't wait for armageddon to occur in this thread just so you could lord your superiority over others.

There's a lot of bitter men in this thread isn't there? One can only imagine how many there are on a global scale then. I wonder what their mode of operation will be after the SHTF? Will they secretly rejoice because they can finally go out and rape women, to "get back", and not having to deal with so many consequenses. Hmm... maybe I should start packing heat even though I am firmly anti-gun.

No that will never happen I am blessed enough to live in a country where guns are very unusual, so I have a different situation than women in the USA.

Also I think some may be mistaken by what I meant by "embracing." I literally meant hugging and the like, not anything sexual at all. Didn't want to remain up the stream Without A Paddle... pun intended (to the movie).

With regards to the original post, I am single and I don't have any males in my life (dad, brother, uncle etc) and I have nothing stashed away if TSHTF but I'm not overly worried at all and don't feel like I will 'need' a man to 'protect' me. I think the mentality of most here in Australia is 'it won't happen to me' lol and as dangerous as that can be it's also kind of comforting. If you watch almost every disaster movie ever made, we down here are pretty much left out of every apocalyptic scenario that has been thought of

I reckon I'd do alright on my own down here, guns aren't common and I reckon I could find a stick big enough to hurt someone with... if not a stick then definitely one of my sons many lightsabers cause those buggers hurt!

It is a typical answer from a person who is groomed and suited for our modern way of life.

Non of us are really groomed or suited for a raw SHTF event that can last for a very long time. A raw SHTF event will be a whole new experiance for our generation. We can only guess how we will cope, and hope we manage together as a peaceful team.

Well, there are a couple of cataclysmic events we could get a hint from: like the 2004 Indian ocean tsunami where people really came toghether and helped each other with what little they had. I think key was that most of those countries don't have aggressive religion/politics and not a huge amount of guns. If they had had that, maybe things would have been different, fear and anger would have thrived in the chaotic circumstances. That is why I think it is a little bit sad that there is such a focus in this thread about seing everyone as enemies and planning ways to kill them.

Also: I have no bible studies under my belt, but isn't the the wolf going to live with the lamb, the leopard lie down with the goat, the cow feed with the bear and the lion eat straw and all kinds of neat stuff?

I have several "equalizers" if you know what I mean and know how to use them,
blood and gore doesnt bother me much anymore,
I also have made it a point to learn self defense techniques and stay in excellent shape,
I am already bugged out for the most part

Really, the only reason for having a man around (for me) would be for companionship...and occasionally getting the tight lids off of jars.

ETA I started preparing myself for a SHTF scenario more than 10 years ago, and have spent much time since then learning skills and preparing for the worst...it doesnt come overnight!

You come across as so holier than thou. Lumping every woman together in the same pile. Here's a question. Do you even see women as the same species as yourself? Since you've addressed every woman through pluralizing the word I assume that you mean EVERY woman on earth.

Those two sentences scream sado masochism. Sounds like you have some sexual fantasy's of your own you need fulfilling at the expense of a woman's free will.

I hope you're able to address whatever hurts you've experienced to make you feel the way you do about the entire female race. There are some wonderfully smart, beautiful, intelligent, giving, caring, patient, kind, strong spirited, women in this world who are not afraid to be who they are and embrace their female sexuality without using it to control and attempt to emotionally enslave a man.

As Robin Williams once said.."Reality...what a concept"...

The only reason someone sets up a post like this is to get men and women carping at each other - On the surface it looks serious but behind it is a desire to play with people's minds as opposed to discussing the real issues that would truly come about in a situation like this.
The usual suspects show up:
1)The women who have enough self confidence that they believe that they will survive such an event, and in many cases, will.
2)The men who believe that women will not survive without their assistance, and denigrate any woman who feels that she has the know - how or the artfulness to survive such an event.
3) And the ones who think the whole thing is a joke.
4) The ones that actually address the issues.
It is discouraging to know that I am part of a species that does not respect those that give birth to them, even in a "civilized" society.
It is a shame that there are those, as quiet as its kept believe in the submission of others as a matter of course and hey, we should like it anyway.
If you don't then you're a lesbian, feminazi, man-hater, whatever..a strong - willed woman is not to be appreciated, but feared.
