You're correct.

Just because this is the way Muslim's work doesn't mean it is the way we work.

It isn't the way they work. Should only be buried at sea if died at sea, and far from the coast, and even then only if sanitary reasons prohibit burial once reaching land. (by Muslim tradition). As I recall, should also lay the body on the right side, with the head pointing towards Mecca, etc.

If you recall, when we embalmed Saddam's sons, there was a bit of an uproar, as it violated the tradition of a quick burial, etc.

The decision to bury him at sea (as stated by as of yet unnamed officials) was done because they felt no nation would accept the remains (which is ludicrous), and fears of using the site as a rallying point, etc.

Personally, I could care less, I'd have buried him in a landfill (burial in a place used for garbage is very dishonorable in the Muslim faith), on the left side, facing away from Mecca, etc., but that's just me.

Here are the events as they really happened. This is the official story:
Elvis, the Easter Bunny and Obama kill Bin Ladin.
Obama removed the knife from his teeth to yell into the loudspeaker. "Come out with your hands up! I arrest you in the name of the American People". Bin Ladin yells back "I will never surrender you infidel dog!" Obama yells to the troops "I'm going in, cover me." As he runs into the house the soldiers all pretend their guns have jammed and some look around aimlessly while whistling an random tune. Elvis and the Easter Bunny are the only ones shooting. Obama enters the room where Osama is and begins shooting the guards with his twin Uzies. Osama has a wall of children in front of him but Obama does the matrix move and curves bullets around the children and hits Osama in the arm. "Give it up Raghead." Obama yells. Osama reaches into his shirt pocket and pulls out a rocket launcher. Before he can shoot it Obama shoots off his fingers. Osama says a magic incantation and the room fills with snakes. Obama whips at them with his bullwhip and they dissapear in a puff of smoke. Osama shoots out his 10 foot long tongue just missing Obama, forcing Obama to shoot him in the eye. Elvis comes in and shoots Osama with a shotgun, just to be sure. Then he sneers and says "Uhhuh huh". As they are carrying off the body a claw reaches out from it and grabbs Obama by the leg. The Easter Bunny unloads his 45 into the body and they all check to make sure he is dead. Osama burps and Obama pulls out a minorah from his shirt pocket and beats the body with it.
Osama begins to smell as they are taking him to the ship so they just toss him out of the helicopter into the sea. A russian submarine picks up the body. We see Osdama's beard wiggle like a snake as the body is taken into a room.

That doesn't sound very believable!If I recall George Bush said a few times that they attacked the US because "they hate our freedom"!So what,one day they are buddies,then the next day they hate our freedom?What kind of bs is that?So what was the real motive behind the 9/11 attacks?What did the Arabs get out of 9/11 besides America attacking their country for 11 years?

Pakistan's military-political divide has just become very clear.

The military is totally on its own terms. They have factions that probably built that compound. They put it in their own controlled territory.

And now, they look like FOOLS. They had him in their own area, on their own terms, and the SEALS didn't just get in and kill him. No, they got in killed him and then retrieved his body.

Which is why I would imagine this took so long to begin with. The requirement of having his body to back up their claims.

I'm very amused.

They buried him at sea to prevent his lunatic followers from traveling to his gravesite every year. Last time, Obama is not stupid. He is not gonna drag his body down main street like a conquering hero. He dumped his body in the sea just like they dumped that evil transformer at sea.

Why would they NOT want his burial place to be a rallying point? I am asking you because you are both intelligent and a believer.

The way I think, having a rallying point is a great thing. You get all the people you want to know about, or track or kill, or arrest, coming to a spot where you can easily identify and capture them, sooooo why is that a bad thing? It seems to me that would have just made their job so much easier.

Secondly, in many places, the spot where someone is KILLED is equally important as where their body is buried. Could it be the real reason was they didnt want people to exhume the body, ever, and prove this to be a big fat lie?

That house in Pakistan has every potential to be the "Shrine" they claim they are avoiding. The only real gain by burying him at sea is...........................no one can ever prove it wasnt him.

Edit to add, and for those who reject that that house itself would be set up as a shrine, or could be, just look at road side shrines people set up in various parts of our country where their loved ones died in an accident. Or how we treat the World Trade Center ground. Where someone died, or a battle was waged, or a momentous event occurred is often just as emotionally charged as where the body is.

But the problem for me, Gazrok, is that they dissapeared with the body. If nobody has filmed or taken a photo of the corpse, nobody will ever know if it was really him or not.

No word on what it is about.
