Yes - that little blip. Perhaps camera fuzz, riiiiiight?

Yeah, that's what I saw. I couldn't really tell if it was a glitch in the camera resolution or if something really spawned from the object. I will look closer when I get to my desktop computer for further analysis.

Btw, keep up the great post and comments. We are getting further into this investigation. Also, do keep an eye out for anything new that comes out you from the video. Great find.

Guys what we have here is indeed a UFO. But now all we need to do is figure out if it is Terrestial made or an Extra Terrestial craft (maybe we already have people on a planet somewhere sending craft down to Terra to check on how us lot are doing).

When I first saw the video I thought it was a black mark on the camera lense

Hey, anything is possible today...hence why we need to keep an open mind...and of course a sharp eye on the details

Plus everything is also easliy faked to day with the awesome CGI (Transformers, Lord of The Rings), so we can never tell if what we are seeing is real unless we witnessed it ourselves.

second part of the video ... originally posted by free_spirit .

An open mind is good but don't close your eyes to the facts

Thanks for that Gortex, it's just that the first video was rather decieving.

Techincally everything is a UFO until it has been properly identified as an airplane/satellite/helicopter. I prefer to use the term "Extra Terrestial Craft".

Looks like a satellite to me.

The youtube poster and I have been exchanging comments on youtube and have discovered that he was recording just at the time the 'Progress' was approaching. I abandon all suggestions he might have been deliberately spamming -- he has been open with his records every step of the way.

oberst: i use fraps to record all my stuff... this is the original timestamp from the record>>> 2011-04-29 15-53-19-80 and thats in german time . (utc +2 hours ??)

oberg: The docking was at 1428 UT and the view was maybe 30-45 min before docking, so your recording time [starting at 13:53 UT] seems fully consistent with the expected appearance of the approaching 'Progress'. Thanks for being thorough in your record keeping.

And what about an apology to the OP for earlier on?

The reason that nonsensical misinterpretations of 'stuff' seen in real-time space imagery is worse than just wasted brainpower, it's dangerous, is that on occasion some of that STUFF can be the critical clue to a spacecraft malfunction that may threaten the lives of the crew. Here are some detailed discussions of why it is important that lots of people -- including folks outside NASA watching the video feed -- spot, log, and pass on such sightings. BUT they ought to have at least a basic filter of what is 'ordinary' and doesn't need to have an alarm sounded for it.

Why NASA watches out for true UFOs
www.msnbc.msn.com...

Columbia disaster:
03/18/2003 - MSNBC.com: Was ‘mystery object’ a shuttle clue?

07/23/1993 - Oberg NASA briefing: Mitigation of Hazards of Spacecraft-Generated Debris

When the OP passed on the video without even bothering to check the scheduled traffic at ISS, he was acting carelessly. But there's no indication he was acting maliciously or deceptively and if anything I said made that accusation, I apologize for it. It may briefly have been a reasonable hypothesis, but only briefly, thanks to the original youtube poster's cooperative exchanges of critical information.

So keep an eye out -- but keep a common sense filter running, too.

My two cents it's the unmanned Russian cargo ship "Progress 42".

This kind of video is the a delight to debunkers and shills.

Why is it people never bother to even question anything anymore. Ive noticed a trend people make an assumption about something like i believe in ufos visiting for example. then they go out and look for a specific incidence to prove this point. This isnt how science is conducted in science you do research then make a hypothisis to fit those facts not the other way around. Confirmation bias is no way to learn anything reading through here you got people saying it must be a UFO. Come on people !!!!

The steps of the scientific method are to:
Ask a Question
Do Background Research
Construct a Hypothesis
Test Your Hypothesis by Doing an Experiment
Analyze Your Data and Draw a Conclusion
Communicate Your Results

to the op if you had you taken 10 min to look into this you might have realized this easy to identify. And even i would have posted it but i would have told people what it was. Confusing people either through lack of knowledge or on purpose isnt right.

As soon as I saw the craft, I was reminded of the wonderful stuff going on at orbiter space flight simulator website: orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk...

Here is a video of one of the missions ... Orbiter Simulator - Soyuz Mission to the International Space Station (HD)

An apology would be a tepid, pointless chaser to Jim's brand of brutal honesty. Like Mike Tyson leveling a retarded toddler with spina bifida then offering her a lollipop.

In the real world, this is the fate of the ignorant and the stupid -- to learn
from humiliating errors, and to strive to avoid ridicule by the expedient
of not BEING ridiculous. Overcredulous eager-believers and the
defiantly clueless pay for these all-too-widespread counter-reality
mental habits every day of their lives -- this is a cheap lesson in a nurturing
environment of true friends. You know what true friends are -- those who
will tell you the truths about yourself that you need, so as to learn how
to become a functioning adult in this challenging (and sometimes merciless)
world.

But somehow, those who are comfortable in self-delusion show their
true colors by being mad at people who are helpfully pointing out their errors,
rather than those who led them INTO those errors.

Is there a gentler, kinder way of doing it? Sorry, that doesn't seem to work.

One helpful place to look for current activities aboard the ISS is here:
