Yeah it appears global incident map is updating even slower than usual. Wishful thinking on my part. I will admit, I've been sitting here waiting for it to end for two days.

BBC TV news reporting ...
12,000 people rescued
2,000 confirmed dead or missing (what about the possible 10,000 reported missing earlier)
Concerns remain about nuclear plant...
Power and water supplies very difficult to obtain.
Officials still claiming radiation within limits.

I can't stress how much I hope they're wrong. I wonder what they base that off of since this kind of quake is somewhat unprecedented right? At least that is my understanding with the first 7+ being followed by an 8-9. I know you have been following these threads at least as closely as I have. What do you think? And if that's all true, why a 7 and not another 8?

i am not sure , maybe they say 7 so they do not send people into a panic and if it is 8 or higher all they have to say is that they predicted a high mag quake but it was higher than anticipated

Thats about all I can come to a conclusion about myself...

Maybe this will all pass over and just be fine....

Hopefully these reactors wont be a big deal at all.

woke up and first thing i do is come here to check for all the updates. Sadly the thread is still overrun with GullibleUnderlord's constant CNN updates, and he cant even differentiate between LIVE news and replayed clips of live news.

I've grabbed these photos off of the TV..

It is a stark reminder of what has happened and what is being done.. The line of fire trucks speaks volumes.
i am seeing many other images of towns on fire or smoldering. We can only imagine the overload of work needed to be carried out..
Japan may as well clear all of it and rebuild..or relocate. Unbelievable damage.

I've been up all night watching alot of different sources and sadly there isn't really anything new being said.
only thing I've heard is that there will be blackouts in japan. oh and they are still a lot of aftershocks

Sunday March 13 2011, 11:56:26 UTC 31 minutes ago near the east coast of Honshu, Japan 4.8 26.0
Sunday March 13 2011, 11:37:31 UTC 50 minutes ago off the east coast of Honshu, Japan 6.0 24.8

but it seems like the aftershocks are slowing down a bit

Yea but the aftershcoks are just as big as those te day before. And it has been reported that apartmeltdown is occuring in one of the Nuclear reactors. So no it is not over yet.

Any news on the volcanoes any more new eruptions or anything?

Btw thanks for posting those Images Extra, just shows how bad the devastation is over there. Does that make us all open our eyes, that we do not own the Planet Earth.

She owns us. And can kill us off at anytime.

Nothing heard about the Dam breached which initially came out during the latter hours of Friday. I guess with all sources on the rescue efforts and the Nuclear plant this has been overshadowed somewhat.

I Know, they showed footage of the dam failing yesterday. Funn how other incidents take president over this. I know the nuke plantis critical. But what about that dam, and hs there been any other dams in Japan which have failed or ruptured.

Yes you're right. But there is plenty info on the net trust me, a quick google search gives me more sources than only the msm news websites.

I think nobody is left there because everyone is reporting that the dam breach washed away homes that where behind the dam. The location of this incident was Kyodo.

It's to bad that every news site in japan is in Japanese only a view have a translation button but the live feeds are not
translated.
