Just waiting for the Liberal mouth-breathers to get on the thread and start their typical dissembling and obfuscating.

Well, here's the skinny from one person who is constantly called a "liberal mouther-breather" around these parts-I don't care.

No really, I would give two craps if the Tea Party chose to run around in white sheets burning crosses. At the end of the day it's all a joke. It got co-opted by the likes of Palin, Armey and Hannity. Nothing will come of it. Health care reform won't be repealed, the wars will not be stopped-nothing is going to change in truth.

So why should I care if two nitwits want to come out and scream "You are racist", "No you are racist". I'm tired of these dumb arguments. it's just Republicans/democrats having a fight in a different outfit.

whats wrong with america today is people like those.

there are hispanics, african americans, in the teaparties(proof is the edited msnbc videos)

i been trying to wrap my head around this and the only conclusion i can come up with is they do to to scare the minorities to ever going to a teaparty .

in essence they never ever want them to see or hear the message.......of the oppostition

is there racism in the teaparties ??? in the millions that are in the teaparties i yield to there may be a few.

but having said there there are racists in the democratic party( senator robert byrd for one and comments made by william jefferson clinton )to name a few.....the anti teaparties have used time and time agian derogatory names to describe teaparties under the claim of "racism"

to me its to the point of the boy who cried wolf...........keep saying it so much it loses its meaning.

spread the hate
feed the hate
control the hate............

my thoughts....

Oh, I see. I didn't quote your post

Thats fine.

The groups who bring up racism in connection with the tea party the most on these forums are liberals who despise the tea party and seek only to discredit it, as you well know. It's absolutely insane to criticize a group for posting something in their defense

First of all, I never denied the fact liberals were hurling accusations of racism towards the tea parties my references were to the past month. Those threads you referenced me were threads addressings 'Mark Williams' and the statement he wrote. What made Mark Willaims write such a statement? He wrote in in reply to the NCAAP after the NCAAP attacked the tea parties for making a racial issue out of the black panther incident back in to the elections. This entire issue of 'race' was once again revived by the tea parties after they had decided to bring up the black panther incident that happened over a year and a half ago. That is when it started, and since then tea party members on here have been defensive on the matter where it was them and their ilk that decided to bring it back into the fold.

Like I said, for a group that spends its time shouting and arguing against other groups, it should be expected that the same will be dished out right back. Instead of targeting the black panthers and NAACP maybe the tea parties should back to more relevant issues, especially if it or you intend not to make race an issue for you again.

How many threads have there been in the last year claiming the entire tea party movement is racist?

I was not discussing the past year, I was referencing to the past month. In anycase since we will be discussing the past year, I still fail to see why race has to be brought up for defensive purposes by tea party members here when each and every on of those threads has ended up in the defense of the tea parties?

Really? You've posted in quite a few of those threads yourself,

When did I post a thread specifically saying that the tea party movement as a whole was racist? If your accusing me of accusing alot of tea party members as racist then you got me I guess? I do believe there are alot of racist members in the tea party protests but I have never accused the movement for being about that specifically.

I have yet to see you criticize anyone for posting yet another "The tea party is racist" thread,

Because those threads never gain support. If you go back to any of those threads, to the OP, the vast majority of members disagree. I still fail to see why tea party members go out of the way to convince us they are not racist? Why bring up race if its not really an issue?

though you have no qualms about criticizing those who would defend themselves against that charge.

What charges? On this forum? You tell me how many of these 'racism' charges got majority support on this forum? They hardly ever do as far as I can see. Most of this is reactionary against small time groups like the black panthers and certain individuals calling the tea party racist, groups outside this forum, groups that are not significant and frivilous in many of their charges at best. So why do tea party members insist on making this a bigger issue that it is? Especially on this forum??

You downplay the number of times tea party supporters have been called racist,

I have no doubt many members on this forum have called tea party supporters racist. I just fail to see how this made any impact in ATS? Each and every time such an accusation is hurled, it either is not paid attentioned to or silenced by a flood of members. This is not a matter of me down playing the number of members who said it, this is a matter of tea party members on this forum making this issue out to be bigger just to get attention.

janeane thinks women in republican party are struggling with stockholm syndrome. and tea partiers are too--minorities that disagree with the current adminstration are just trying to curry favor with their oppressors (et.al, conservatives, even though many tea party people are democrats too). this stuff is priceless. note after she said that, she grinned at the interviewer.
no wonder i quit watching tv.

I was with a group of adults some smart some not so smart. I was complaining about obama without actually going into why and everyone of the looked at me like I had 3 heads I waited 3-6 secs for someone to join in but nope every one of them approx 9 people stared me down so I immediately got a familiar feeling again of "white guilt" so i quickly back pedaled and said but no one was worse then bush but what blew my mind for a good week was that NOT one of those folks was black. All because I offended the first black president I was looked at like I was standing in the way of racial progress! I really never seen anything like that in my life. I know some of you must know what I am talking about anyone???

i will admit, for the record, that so far, obama seems to be doing a decent job with his tour in the white house. however, i do agree the usa is and has been heading in the wrong direction for awhile now. so we can't lay all this wrongness on the O. he's working with what he has, just like the last few presidents.

i've read the critiques of him, and i understand why people are panicked, but i also note every time we get a new president, it always ends up like this with people generally dissatisfied. there's more cause for concern because of the economy, obviously. but this is not all O's fault either. some of that is the result of trade agreements and the whole "spread democracy to the world," (anybody ever notice the definition of democracy? i do believe it's socialism, so while they pretend it's capitalists doing this whole new world order thing, could it be it's really socialists using it as a front, spending all our money up to force socialism on the globe and pretending it was those damnable capitalists doing it? that's some fancy footwork right there. hope i'm wrong. )

i'm curious why it is a problem if the black people in the video from the tea party express, are successful?

I fail to see where I said this was the problem? What on earth does that have to do with the thread? If you watch the video and read the OP, the point of the thread was regarding blacks in the tea party and the supposed false allegations of racism in the tea parties. It was not merely about successful black people in the tea party.

your beef against them was that they were obviously rich black people.

What on earth? Where did I make this an issue at all?

dunno if you noticed but there are rich black people in congress too, and the house, and the entertainment industry and the white house. so why is it a problem if tea party members also have rich black people? i want to understand your mind set. it baffles me.

Your post baffles me. It has absolutely no connection to my previous posts.

There clearly are racists that are also Tea Party folk. There are racists everywhere but we have the pictures the quotes to prove this. Are they all Tea Party folks? No.

I agree. You cannot lump every single individual in tea parties as racist, although I do believe there are alot of racists in the tea party and I do believe the tea parties are inciting racial tension.

So when these people are pointed out, the defense is - 'The Tea Party is not a cohesive group. It is not really a party. It is not a group of certain anything, it is just random people. If there are some racists then they only represent themselves.'

Ok fine.

Then why is it that the 5 black Tea Party members are held up as somehow representative of the idea that the Tea Party is indeed a cohesive group that is not at all racist?

bingo!

We all get confused and make mistakes on this forum, understandable.

And no I have absolutely no problem with successful blacks joining the tea parties. I know some african americans who are part of the tea parties, have my disagreements with them as with any other tea party protester. I don't see them any differently to other tea party protesters, neither do I think they should be singled out for any purpose. Neither does that fat convince me that that the tea parties do not incite racial tension, or that there are no racists in the tea parties.

then this thread doesn't pertain to you since you aren't forwarding the belief that tea partiers are racists (although there are racists in the tea party movement, just like everywhere else). common sense.

i think the accusation that it further incites racial tensions is perhaps the result of someone wanting to keep people in class systems based on their physical appearance: white black red yellow etc. if there are black people supporting a platform that isn't considered the "Black platform" they are chastised, accused of all manner of wrong doing or simply considered to be suffering from psychological problems. but there really isn't a black platform, any more than there is a white one. unless they mean to say there are no white people in the democratic party and no black people in the republican party.

the whole thing is ludicrous.

Okay, if you want to go there, I'll follow.

1g.) Political Baiting: You will not engage in politically-charged rhetoric, politically-inspired name-calling, and related right-versus-left political bickering while posting in any topical forum or discussion thread on AboveTopSecret.com. You will not alter political candidate names or party affiliations in order to insult or deride the opposition.

From the Terms and Conditions of ATS

Your altering of the phrase "Tea Party" is offensive and is, obviously, intended as an insult.

I'm just not one to leap to hitting the "Alert" button. I prefer members to self-edit. So, how about it? Would you care to remove your insult on your own? And, in case you didn't notice, i'm not the only one here who didn't care for it.

I will agree with you to a degree. I do believe there are people in the tea parties and outside that are attempting to incite racial tension for their own agendas. There are people within the tea parties making race and issue to gain more attention, in part for the tea parties, and there are people outside inciting race as an issue to attack the tea parties. It goes both ways.

okay so what's your problem with it again? since we've 1) established that racism is everywhere, in all forms of politics, 2) that inciting racism is therefore everywhere in all forms of politics? why is it that the tea party should not be allowed the same leeway without being called a racist organization (not by you but by the news)? i'm not a tea partier, although i agree with them that things could be better. lol
