Fair enough. But you got to admit, it would be neat to see aliens...even if they just ate us after we saw them.

Now if they could show the location of the dead and go there and come back like the LAMB COULD then we may have something.

Ok...now I find this interesting. What if the aliens told you there was no "location the dead go to" other then to the grave?

What if they produced "proof" of it, with...I dunno...some sort of super technology that all bedazzled our finest scientists and proved to them all 100% that there was no afterlife.

Would they then become your God?

What if they could make you immortal? Richer then the word "wealth" could ever mean to a human "before alien contact"? What if they told you they could make "you" God?

And even told you that you could create universes all you want, but you need to obey their law as if it was gospel?

Then what? Just asking...not challenging your God(s).

Dominant belief systems often subsumed key aspects of rituals / beliefs, held by those individuals which they wished to convert/conquer . e.g Christianity is littered with remnants of other belief systems.

*If an alien culture wished to manipulate mankind , a cursory glance through human history would have them adopt a tried and tested method .

Pondering what an alien life form might look like is froth with difficulties . It is hard for us not to drift towards that which we are familiar with , when we attempt to imagine something novel.
In the same vain , communicating with an alien life form would be equally challenging . Emotions are an integral part of the human experience , they are adaptations also shaped by natural selection .
As such they are specialised states which can adjust our physiology ,cognition, behaviour etc simultaneously ... giving us an effective response in a given situation. The capacity to make such adjustments has been shaped, by our species repeated exposure to certain situations over vast swathes of time here on this planet. These adaptations, it is safe to assume, are unique to Earth .

What `universals` could we potentially share ?

, carbon based life forms, mathematics .........

Well it's the same sh*t! Same old rubbish fairy tales. GOD is for people that need hope. And are brainwashed to believe. That try so desparately to think that someone or something is watching out for them and guiding them throughout their lives and deaths.

Look at the world we live in. How cruel is it? How cruel as a people we are to each other? How can people like the Vatican use a story like GOD and Jesus to control, persecute and kill people thoughout the ages all in the name of 'GOD'. If there was a GOD I would condemn him, her or it for allowing all the sh*t that goes on here on our world!

And I don't mean the "first-hand accounts" and really horrible internet videos/ doctored photos from who-knows-where that fill this board recently -- but proof.

We can start there and then build upon it to form a valid arguement.

UFO's:

Thousands upon thousands of eyewitness testimonies, events and documentation. Thousands of declassified and classified materials documenting such phenomena and how it has interacted with mankind over the last 75 years and especially the interest of the U.S. government in the UFO phenomenon. Thousands of photographs, video's and audio recordings of unexplained objects and aerial phenomenon since the invention of the camera. What are the chances those craft which exhibit technologies FAR more advanced than ours might be piloted by someone or something not of this planet? Fair to good.

Your so called "gods"

A book which contains fictional characters and events which by today's standards when compared to some of the greatest novels ever written, is pure garbage. A book, that is all that is offered as your proof of your fictional deity, nothing more, nothing less. A book that so many weak minded individuals follow so closely they are willing to die and kill over it. Sad.

The fact that members of today's modern society would follow a fictional novel as closely as they do sickens most intelligent folks. As long as there are people who are so easily brainwashed, and so naive, your so called "disclosure" will NEVER take place as it's a prime example of our species infancy and inadequacy to deal with such huge and lasting implications.

To OP, believing in Et intervention for creation of man is not " not believing in god" bc if you dig deeper.. who created these alien.. their world.. etc etc..

really, there are no proofs yet, but the reality is that people, EVEN TODAY, want to interpret books exactly like they were written ...

when someone says they saw an angel, a flying cross, a demon ... an entity, some mist or whatever, it doesnt mean literally, its just a description

when we dont know something, we try to describe it with something we do know, thats the reality

so, there are no proofs that a GOD like people imagine exists, but if you use your brain, you will find out that there are more proofs that aliens did participate in our history than divine beings ... just read these books you people call sacred

thats what all those ancient books are about, every aspect of them ... they described things they couldnt understand with other subjects from their culture ...

Oh please not another UFO vs God thread...

Religion for me is a huge controlled myth that has NEVER been proved, it's taken as word of mouth and stories froma time when story telling was a popular pastime.

I've seen far more proof of UFO's than I have ever seen of god, whilst I'm happy that you have a belief you can no way offer any proof of your belief. For me all religions have a set of get out clauses when the harder questions get asked.

how is peterson's statement proof? A project camelot guy claiming stuff is no proof at all. though i really like listening to those guys...clifford stone is one of the best story tellers. very exciting but that's all. like reading science fiction or fantasy.
