Hi Antor, I find some more interesting information about those documents.

Its from a pdf from Ryan S. Wood called.

Psychological Warfare & The Majestic Documents:Little Evidence of Deception

In there you find the opinion from one senior government official about the “SOM 1-01: Extraterrestrial Entities and Technology Recovery and Disposal” documents.

It defies most military historians to believe that any leaked UFO document, even something as intriguing as, “SOM 1-01: Extraterrestrial Entities and Technology Recovery and Disposal” would have changed any tactical or strategic objective, troop movement or anti-aircraft battery

And on and on.

Alternatively, did the Soviets or Chinese create these materials, insert some in the files of the National Archives and Records Administration, then release most of them in the 1990s after the fall of the Berlin Wall in order to bring the capitalist enemy to its knees? America, your government is hiding UFOs: throw off your chains and embrace the glorious socialist future. Judge for yourself.

From one Senior Government Official.

“My gut says they’re real; contain the usual inconsistencies, mistakes and anomalies that derive from government work every day (even at the highest levels, especially where there is no effort to make things ‘credible’ for outside view, since they were never intended for outside view); and correspond to a set of phenomena that have been too consistently reported for too long by too many sane people.”

What otherwise do we do with apparently authentic letters like that from
Sarbacher4? Tools of the same disinformation campaign? Or if from the Soviets (who else?), is it to promote distrust and cynicism toward our ‘government conspiracy’ and foster social unrest? If so, they spent a lot of time and money and incredibly detailed research to little effect, since the vast majority of Americans have no knowledge of these documents, and the few who do are in conflict over them.

“Perhaps now with publication of the Sturrock scientific report and the French defense committee’s findings, there will be more context for considering the Majestic documents sensibly. Bearing in mind Kuhn’s classic model of the structure of scientific revolutions, we might transcend the “urbane sneers” of some interviewshow astronomer who has obviously never studied the evidence (the amusing thing is that despite the symbolic idea of star gazing, most astronomers spend little time in their careers scanning the skies, and they know virtually nothing of politico-military
discourse in classified channels). We might then conduct honest inquiry on the leading, not the trailing, edge of knowledge.

If the Majestic documents are fakes, they’re too damn good to have been done as a hobby by UFO nuts. The external referent of credible observations is there. The internal referent of the documents is there.

There’s something there.” [ Private correspondence, 1999 ]

Then, regarding the great importance of documents like this could have, I thought that these remarks given by Stanton T. Friedman may not lack in the discussion.

Stanton T. Friedman did a lot of his homework by spending a lot of time at twenty different Document Archives from coast to coast so he knows of where he speaks.

THE DEBUNKERS

There seem to be several distinct groups attacking the documents:

A. There are those who believe (despite all the evidence to the contrary) that no alien spacecraft have ever visited Earth. Therefore, any documents saying that they have must be false. No need to do a detailed investigation, to spend time in Archives, research the people involved, etc. THEY MUST BE FRAUDULENT!!

B. There are those who are convinced that some UFOs are indeed alien spacecraft, but that no saucer crashed near Roswell because they haven’t found any other classified documents indicating any have. Karl Pflock in his book (Ref.1) epitomizes this approach. If no saucer crashed at Roswell, then the documents must be fake.

C. There are several former military people who are convinced that the documents must be false because the style, format, details, etc. do not match what they would have expected them to be based on their military service from the 1960s onward. This ignores the many changes in office procedures (copy machines, word processors, etc.) and the fact that the White House is a civilian organization not a military one.

D. There are a lot of armchair theorists who think they can make judgements without doing any homework at all.

In much of the discussion one finds the use of the four basic rules for debunking of any controversial idea:

1. What the public doesn’t know, I won’t tell them.

2. Don’t bother me with the facts, my mind is made up.

3. If one can’t attack the data, attack the people; it is easier.

4. Do one’s research by proclamation; investigation is too much trouble.

Another important rule for some of the attackers is that “Absence of Evidence is Evidence for Absence.” Karl Pflock and others cite numerous documents, mostly only classified Secret, that say nothing about Roswell or MAJESTIC 12. This, of course, neglects the fact that there are still numerous documents from the Truman and Eisenhower eras 1945-1961 that are still classified, that we rarely see documents that have classification stamps of TOP SECRET Code Word (TSCW). I was told in November, 2003, by an archivist at the Ike Library that they still have about 300,000 pages of classified documents. We know that the NSA classified 156 UFO documents (found in response to a Judge’s directive) as TOP SECRET UMBRA when they finally released a highly expurgated version (about two lines per page are not covered with Wite-Out), supposedly because that information is about sources and methods. Why would it be listed under UFOs if only 5% is about UFOs?

In addition, as a result of my spending a lot of time at twenty different Document Archives from coast to coast, I can say that almost never does one find TSCW documents about anything. The best documents for comparison with the EBD would be the four National Security Briefings for President-Elect Eisenhower presented by

DCI Walter B. Smith in the time period between Ike’s election on November 4, 1952, and January 9, 1953, when Smith informed President Truman of his security briefings for Ike before and after the election. Unfortunately, despite my FOIA request to the CIA and a subsequent appeal to their response ("We have nothing in response to your request” even though I gave the dates and times of two of the briefings), we have no such documents for comparison.

Whats the point of starting this thread? It seems everyone is trying to figure out if the documents are "real or fake" as though it matters one iota.

Instead it might be a better idea to read the contents and see what they are all about. Even if they are fake, they were faked by someone "in the know" and not by some japaneese comic publisher. Just add 2+2 so we can deny ignorance!

The american government used to acknowledge and take ufo/alien matters seriously back in the 40s/50s. Now we are seeing childish denial attempts by people who barely have a clue what they are talking about it.
Swamp gas, fake fonts, ballons, was it hand typed or printed, letters missing here and there, etc...

This document has a High Level of Authenticity - 80-100%
This means that virtually all of the available investigation channels and ideas have been pursued and at each test the document has shown to be authentic. For example, tests in paper, ink, obscure content, handwriting, period typography and fonts, correct formatting, forensic linguistics (along with no sign of anachronisms), all indicate the highest level of authenticity. At this level, witnesses are present that have seen or read the document in an "official" capacity and will or have signed an affidavit to that effect.

Hi everybody!

An interesting question, DocEmrick! Is it a forgery of us (so called "ufo-believers") or from a disinfo-machine?

Why would, why should "we" make such a fake? Ok, it would make sense, if one of "us" would like to make some money out of it, and looking at several known "Frauds" we have to assume, that this already has happened.

As some other posters found, there are some hints, that someone may have used this document as a vehicle to sell DVD's related to the ufo-story.

On the other hand... there's another recent thread (Roswell - case closed), in which the OP showed the lack of plausibility in the explanations the Airforce gave in respond to the questions, what really happened in Roswell (first Project Mogul, then the weather balloon, then the Dummies).

If really something extraterrestrial crashed in Roswell, I think we can assume, that the military and the agencies had to develop a plan, how to deal with this to avoid greater damage (for the "national security", etc.).

What if there has been such a plan? What would have been it's instructions?

And what would be the instructions for the case, that this manual would get into the "wrong" (civilian) hands?

Maybe to make a nearly exact copy, to fill it up with enough crap, that it wouldn't pass an authenticity-check, so that it and all the things that are connected with it can be "debunked"?

I don't think I'm naive, and I also don't think I'm too much a believer.

In fact I can't believe what I've seen that night some years ago.

But I know - where's a smoke, there's a fire...

One of the problems that some people had with this document was the word satellite was used as an explanation in 1954 and the first satellite was not put into orbit until 1957. I have have found that the word satellite was used in 1954, but I still have problems with the document using the excuse of a crashed satellite when there were no satellites in orbit during that time frame.

I think the manual is a good hoax, used to throw people off the trail. If any real document ever gets leaked, they can point to these ones that have already been "leaked" and call them all fakes.

The word Satellite was in theory thought up in the 40s heres the proof..Arthur C Clarke

Great thread op a nice read S+F

Pretty cool...but if you are going to put something out there like that then why would you do it in such a way so it can not be viewed in its entirety. I wana see whats at the end of the rabbit hole. lol lol

Definitely! The government would have a lot to gain by throwing people on a wild goose chase for the "Majestic-12," while a completely different organization in the opposite direction continued to gain from the knowledge they already have.

And why would anyone hoax it? What would they have to gain from it? It's not like anyone is getting notoriety for it. In fact, it's almost too creative for somebody to just come up with. Although, if somebody can design those fake drones that surfaced in 2007, who knows what other graphical hoaxes can be done.

I noticed that the left hand page of the open booklet is identical in every image.

Is it common practice in the US for classified documents to carry a security warning on every left hand page?

Yes. According to the man I spoke with they include that on every page of highly secret short documents like this. The only thing that seemed inaccurate was that that text was on the front page - he said he'd never seen that.

Keeping in mind what the special-effects industry and even amateurs are capable of nowadays, there is nearly no more chance for us (when we're not experts in cgi etc.) to say, what's fake and what's real.

I've seen so many astonishing videos that turned out to be elaborate fakes that probably I would tend to say "fake" even if I'd watch the real deal.

So the question is - is there any chance for us to find the ultimate truth within all the crap and disinfo?

I think there is...

Maybe we'll never find the "smoking gun".

But maybe there's the chance to find the bullet holes of ricochets...

Maybe we'll never find pictures of the 4 (?) dead alien bodies recovered in Roswell.

But maybe there's still a sales-slip documenting the Air Force's hastily purchase of 4 child's coffins at a local Roswell mortician in the Summer of 1947.

I don't know how the american tax-system works, but here in Germany we have to give data to the tax authorities for every income we have.

Possibly, also this one mortician in Roswell had to make an account.

Possibly, the chance to find a track like this is very small.

Maybe we'll never see the devil because he hides behind too many masks.

But maybe we'll get him just by the strange smell of sulfur vapor that can be smelled everywhere where he set his foot on.

By the way - don't dead bodies smell?

And how do especially dead alien bodies smell?

Isn't it warm there down in Roswell, New Mexico?

Has probably been a hot day there back in July 1947.

Any reports, that the "dummies" unbelievable stunk?

Get what I mean?

In all honesty, that speaks volumes to me. You are not a "kooky" kind.

I agree with you. It is a true document.

The people behind majesticdocuments.com (where SOM1-01 is from) are Robert M Wood, Ryan S Wood, Nick Redfern, Stanton T Friedman, Timothy S Cooper, Jim Marrs and Jim Clarkson. They have given SOM1-01 along with other "important" documents such as The Eisenhower Briefing Document the highest authenticity rating - i.e they strongly suggest they are not fakes.

Members of ATS have showed that SOM1-01 is most certainly a forged document. Should SOM1-01 be put in the [HOAX] bin it would put a major dent in Friedman and company's work!

Cool thread.

This page has the best revelations, IMO.

I think the document is a legitimate most likely...

Now the purpose of it is what is debatable. Was it leaked from a true source?

Or was it concocted as part of Blue Book or some other agenda like that?

I also think it is significant that Jim Marrs considers it likely NOT fake... if that claim can be substantiated.

We should get him on this thread.

Anyone that has read any of his material knows he is for real.

Important to keep in mind is the stakes on whether this is real or not:

David Wilcock, Project Camelot, Dan Burish, and a whole host of very public figures rely in part on the validity of MJ12...

So it is of utmost importance to determine whether or not this document is legitimate, because of the claims that those people mentioned above have made.

Also, the historical context before and during the proposed time this document is from is extremely important.

What were the attitudes of the higher-ups at that time? This was most likely HIGHLY compartmentalized info.

Thanks for posting OP.
