Our own Canadian pride RUSH.

As a drummer my idol drummer is Neil Peart (Rush Drummer).

I have see them once in concert and they sound like if they are 5 on the stage but beleive or not they are only 3 !

What a great band, I love'em !

R.I.P. Rhonda

I didn't know the girl, but I knew her family
All their lives were shattered in a nightmare of brutality
They try to carry on, try to bear the agony
Try to hold some faith in the goodness of humanity

As the years went by, we drifted apart
When I heard that she was gone
I felt a shadow cross my heart

But she's nobody's hero
Is the voice of reason against the howling mob
Hero...is the pride of purpose
In the unrewarding job
Hero...not the champion player
Who plays the perfect game
Hero...not the glamour boy
Who loves to sell his name
Everybody's buying
Nobody's hero

Most people like the live acoustic versions, but the studio version of Resist is great in its on way. I like the video this guy put together for it-

I can learn to compromise
Anything but my desires
I can learn to get along
With all the things I can't explain

For those of you who have such a thing, Rush has helped to create and develop a new iPhone app specifically for them. It was just updated yesterday. I'm not sure when it first was released.

For the first time ever Rush has helped develop a fun and useful application for the hard-core Rush fans.

Get exclusive up to the minute news, music, and more in the palm of your hands.See brand new content and be a part of all things Geddy, Alex, and Neil as they embark on the Time Machine Tour. Follow this application. We will continuously be featuring updates and improvements

I don't have an iPhone or iPad, but this looks pretty cool for the Rush fans out there. Of what I am definitely one!

Picked up the flick. It's quite good. Nice interviews with everyone involved and some cool thoughts from peeps like Billy Corgan(I still can't stand his music but he "gets it", big time and has some really cool insights), Jack Black, Sebastian Bach - "Man, this band has me all fired up about literature" LOL! And others.

Cool clips from the Rutsey days and as I have never seen them with him that was interesting. Weird. Playing high schools because there were no other places for them to play in Canada.

"The slippers would go great with your robe, Glee", and that marked the end of the "absurdly prophetic robe" era.

Don't forget the time they kicked Geddy out of the band. So many times we could have lost this band, then(without Geddy, would they still have made it and would they have been any good if they did?), the "Down The Tubes" tour, Neil being a Ghost Rider.

"Those who know what's best for us
Must rise and save us from ourselves"

Kind of apropo lyrics for ATS, eh?

Been into these guys since 79.
I'm learning Xanadu ATM (well, some of it) & it's challenging to say the least.

Nice. Good luck with that.

I can get through many Rush tunes but Xanadu has some fills that I can't manage, as I suck.

Then again, many drummers do suck compared to The Professor.

Now I'm going to have Xanadu running through my mind as I try to get some sleep.

"Slappin' Da Bass" LOL!

The intro - Polka version of The Spirit Of Radio. Priceless.

Leave That Thing Alone. What thing? Where's My Thing?

Caravan

Neil's solo.

I'm so very unhappy I missed this but I guess that's the way things go.

I got 2112 when I was in 5th grade back in the 70s - lucky I had such a cool babysitter who would play it when she came over. It will always be my fav album of all time.

Love the intelligence & mystery of Rush; also very reflective of most all fellow fans I've met as well.

Thanks for the postings of Witch Hunt & YYZ

That's a pretty good cover. Mission was always one of my favorites. I do notice it took like 3 different people to do what Geddy does by himself though! lol

That idiot who played his copy of the Hemispheres picture disc is a fool. You don't play those discs, they have crappy sound and are not meant to be played. They are collectors items. I know this as I have a couple dozen or so of them, the above one is, as far as I know, the only Rush one made and I do own a copy of it(what Rush geek doesn't???). Why anyone would play it is beyond me. Go buy the cd, FFS!

Moving on, RushCon is in town but I ain't there. Lack of appetizing funds in my case. Loads of people from all over North America came in for it and the show last night at the MGM Grand Arena, which has the sound qualites of dog crap.Band was pretty good though Neil did have a off night as he got off in two songs(Stick It Out in the second verse and another in the second set that escapes me at the moment).

Crowd sucked, but that's Vegas, it always sucks here.

Seems all the cool Rush fans were partying up in the rooms. I was down in the casino for a few hours beforehand and all the folks I met were dunces. Fair weather fans, though one I met was not a fool but so boring I couldn't talk to him. I couldn't converse with most of them as it's too difficult. I get tired of explaining frakking everything when people get it wrong. I even went through this with a "friend", well, a friend of a friend, who wanted to argue something after the show. I had the dunce pull the info up on his phone and stymied that fool(and he is a fool, loads of fun because he's a fool but I digress) but it seemed everyone last night was just plain D-U-M dumb.

Cool thing the MGM did was play a bunch of Rush tunes throughout the day. While I was sitting there drinking O'Douls(hell if I'm going to get drunk and not remember the show) I heard all kinds of cool stuff, from FBN to S&A. Nice touch.

My Sis and Bro-in-law went, their first time. They quite enjoyed it. I had them watch I Love You, Man so they would understand the outro video and they really liked that flick too. Bonus.

Slappin Da Bass! And don't touch that button, Toots Magoot!!!!!

RASH is the best band the world has ever seen. The RASH t-shirts are frakkin hilarious but I got the Time Machine(black, of course) standard shirt with the tour dates on it. I dig that clock.

Now it's time to put on Moving Pitchers LMMFAO!!!!!!

Oh, reggae Closer to the Heart and Working Man, along with the polka version of La Villa were also quite cool. Great visuals with Marathon also.

Well, RushCon is happening right around the corner. I'd kinda like to see it as who has the chance for that kind of shindig but oh well. I hope they all have a good time.
