This is breaking at the moment, they are saying there is a second shooter and are saying the fort is on lockdown.

Talk of the shooters being in combat clothing but not sure that they are soldiers of not. Not many more details, they say there was some kind of homecoming thing going on.

Latest from Fox as it comes in....possibly 2 shooters on the loose now.

Military police have the place totaly locked down, no press allowed in (obviously), one shooter in custody, Pentagon to issue a statement soon.

Fox is just outlining a few details about Fort Hood, i didn't realise it was that big. 33,000 there and the whole lot on lockdown.

All details need confirmation.

We do have a fairly active ATS member who is associated with Hood. It'll be interesting to hear his perspective on this when he logs on next.

I just hope there are only 2 shooters...and not several "cells" of shooters. This is a sad day, that's for certain.

The Killeen/waco area seems to get more tragedy per capita than any other region in the US.

They are reporting a third shooter now.

Just wanted to add, my moms cousins husband is based at Fort Hood. I will post any info If it comes my way.

FBI are on route now.

Apparently there are there reports of shootings at a theatre and a PX.

I live about 35 miles north of Killeen.

This is just sending chills down my spine right now. They are really making sure the kids in school at Temple and Killeen are well taken care of.

I seriously wonder that if this turns out to be caused by muslim extremists (terrorists), will the MSM have the cojones to say that, or will political correctness prevent them from telling us the truth?

It's probably military people. This happened once when I was in the military, although it was over fairly quick with the shooter killing himself.

You might would think it was nuts to do such a thing on a base, and you would think they would be dealt with quickly, all guns on base are locked up and can only be signed out. Even your own private guns. So really, all the people on base who are not some type of police are defenseless. I'm not sure if people who have on base housing are in the same boat, maybe not. I know everyone in the barracks has to for sure turn in any firearms.

Ft. Hood is a rapid deployment base. I don't think they are an open base are they? Never been there myself.
