Another smart fella said "Blessed is the land whose history is a bore". Whether occupied by Nazis, Americans or Aliens, it's the winning part who writes down what our children learn in school (very little alien history). The first thing a nazi or the like -- government would do, would be to rewite history in order to substantiate their ideology and world view, so that children would learn that Hitler war actually a good guy and that Jews don't exist. So until philosophers rule the world, we're stuck with violence and last words.

I agree with your thinking. I have questioned this many times, more-so recently. I do wonder the same thing. I was a Christian many many years, and we were always taught that Satan only seeks to draw as many souls away from God as possible. We were taught that that made Satan bad or evil. It doesn't make a lot of sense, and as a thinking person, I have no idea how I fell into that way of thinking. I used to pray and pray that I was not deceived by 'the enemy.' (Perhaps it worked, someone or something is helping me not be deceived anymore). I questioned so much and there were answers of course, but they didn't always sit well with me. I just assumed, as they taught, that God is God and we can't know why He does what He does, but He loves us and it's always to our benefit that He does and says what is good. It really doesn't make sense.

I can't shake this thought: 'satan' simply means 'adversary.' And I ask this: is it really so bad to be an adversary to a god who would do what the god of the bible does and advocates?

GOOD OR BAD? Point is mute the way I see it...

I believe there more to this story then then has ever been told.

First...Why was Lucifer challenging God and his authority in heaven?
Second...What was Lucifer’s position in heaven that allowed him to challenge God?
Third...Was Lucifer considered as a God in heaven?
Forth...How or why are 1/3 of the angels with him on his quest?
Fifth...Why did God close heaven off to Lucifer and cast him down to earth?

The reason I ask the last question, is because God knew his creations are here on earth, and he knew Lucifer (called Satin now) would deceive all that he could.

Did God need to prove something among the heavenly beings and angels?
Was this a way for God to prove that Lucifer’s plan would not work?
Was Lucifer asked to show that his way was better, which caused him to be cast down to prove that point?

This sounds like a heavenly court judgment for Lucifer if you ask me. If his plan works, what will happen?

Sounds like Lucifer had a choice, just like you and I have a choice...does that make him evil? No, but if he is wrong he will have a big price to pay.

I read about 2 paragraphs of this site, and I need to read no further to agree with you. You are on the right track, but it is not Satan impersonating god, but it is the other way around.
In the Old Testament, the translation of Satan is Enemy.
However, in the sanskrits of India I believe, which I know pre-dates Judaism, Satan is refered to as the Creator.

my opinion is one of contemplation and lots of study, who am i to call one evil and the other good? It was until i started studying that i became enlightened about the subject.

Satan just wants us to be the best we can, to be knowledgeable - to be enlightened in our own rite. He just wants to advance our human race no matter how many people think he is this ugly monster that just wants nothing but to kill us all. This is not true, he is caring and listens if you respect him he will respect you, he will help you through any problem if he thinks you cant handle it on your own, he protects his own, and will take revenge on those who "dog" you (who bully you or steals from you). He is not this nefarious entity bent of world-annihilation like many believe, he is pure and just. If the highest of Jewish/Catholics/Christian "religious" leaders didn't do what they did (the Inquisition, witch-hunts, destroying so much ancient knowledge e.c.t) we would of been a far more advanced race than what we are now.

On the other-hand the Xian god is one of false prophecy and numerous lies along with ordering assassinations, murders, theft, razing cities to the ground, and many more "sins", that so-called "loving god" will soon be exposed for what he really is when people see the truth. What he is, is not my place to say because people will believe a lot of what they are told, and believe what they read (in the bible or otherwise) and it is their place to think what they want.

I can just express my opinions on such matters such as this with dedication to try and explain what i mean, i dont hate other religions/beliefs i may not agree with them but it is not my place to say where they should go.

My case is that, Satan is very misunderstood so people fear him; especially if they are Xians (Christians e.c.t) because that is whats hardwired into their brain "Attend church and pray, dont dabble with the occult, because if you do you will burn eternally" this is to me just a kind of brainwashing method (scaring people so they wont do something). He is not "evil", he is the Light and the Dark, Good and Bad, to understand Satan you must understand his aspects.

Good and Evil are not opposites either, they are different, to know one you must also know the other, to know true enlightenment you must dedicate yourself to study every aspect of the differences you find in something. Only then can you really say that you know which is "Good" and which is "Evil"
