I believe there are a lot more people taking an active role in looking at the issues. Personally, I don't care which political affiliation someone aligns themselves with as long as they are voting based on their own research and not what someone else tells them.........oh, nevermind. I obviously believe ATS is the entire world.

Police called on retirees at senator's LA office

Los Angeles police Sergeant Rich Brunson said Thursday that police lured the group of seven outside somehow, then locked the building's doors behind them.

Brunson had said earlier that eight people were being taken into custody, but corrected himself after getting new details from officers on the scene.

A spokeswoman for the 55- to 87-year-old activists said they arrived at Feinstein's office around noon and remained in her conference room more than six hours.

Feinstein spokesman Gil Duran says staff offered the retirees an in-person meeting with the senator during a Los Angeles visit next week but that they demanded to speak with her immediately.

You know this is a sad day in the history of America, when the elderly, who have worked hard all their lives get this type of treatment.

I guess the older generation were the greatest generation, and still are,

Just call me a senior extremist.

This is not about democrat or republican.

For a few months I was very worried that people would overreact to everything that's happening, and in the wrong way. I was afraid that instead of turning on the government and demanding a smaller, less powerful big brother, they'd turn to socialism/communism, something reminiscent of an Ayn Rand book. However, time and time again the people of this great country surprise me with their cries against that which would ruin us.

I don't know what reversed our socialist-wanting (or is making it clear that it was never leaning that way anyway) but I'm extremely happy with the American people. Looks like we're working on getting to the right track again.

These small town hall meetings are usually the only contact that the constituents will have with their elected leaders. Except during campaign season of course. I applaud them for speaking up and for speaking for an ever increasing base of unhappy voters. The hoodwinks are off and this spirit is sure to spread.

The White House and those on Capital Hill are shaking in their little sheepin' boots. 2010 will be an interesting election. Beware of false prophets on the campaign trail.

This fight will be the last gift that this fine generation will give to this nation. Their spirit and fortitude pulled this nation through WWII and will hopefully inspire a new generation to take the lead in protecting what is left of our nation.

Town Halls Gone Wild.
I love it! Instead of having a bunch of 'yes' men around them, they have to actually listen to what the voters think and what they want and what they need! It'll probably scare the pudd'n out of a bunch of politicians.

Town Halls Gone Wild ... sounds like a great idea for a reality TV show.

Nice to see that not everyone buys the government line and bends over to every whim and fancy the government imposes.

i don't see why not! they bent over and greased up for all of the time of the bush administration. but you know...the right wing are the REAL AMERICANS...RIGHT?...RIGHT? yup...can't have those democrats in washington actually trying to help the middle class and poor, now can we? why?... because that's UN-AMERICAN!!!! THAT'S WHY!!!

The most telling aspect of this is the fact that the 'representative' of his constituents was simply his lack of moral courage.

If you represent people, you must face them. Even if you don't like it. THAT'S why you get treated like a rock star wherever you go, THAT'S why people fawn all over you and gush with partisan love for you, THAT'S why you get free top-of-the-line Health Care for LIFE!

Don't like what they have to say? THEN QUIT!

While I think all this opposition to Socialism and Odumbo is a good thing I am not so sure it is motivating the people of my generation. Looking through the video of Tim Bishop being hounded by some of my fellow LI patriots I see that upwards of 90% of the crowd was over the age of 50 and the majority looked to be in the same age group as my grandparents (in other words 70+).

As long as they have their night clubs/bars, American Idol, and Twilight the majority of my generation could care less with Odumbo does or wants.

Yes this is what I don't understand.

Our only hope is to vote all of them out, I am disgusted with all of them.

Can you imagine an army of senior citizens?

Heck Obama finds us expendable anyway, might as well go down with a fight.

Honestly, I am really upset, that she just didn't have time for them.

Never mind...see someone else posted.

I saw this yesterday, don't know if it has been posted but it is a town hall member asking about Obama's birth certificate. The congressman was at a loss and the reaction to the pledge was interesting to watch.

My first attempt at embedding a video...I may have to edit

Yep, had to edit. Will work on it later
