ACtually it was just $20 million. Who the hell pays 200?

And it wouldn't make sense to just accept settlement money when your child is violated...

Ya and the pop music of this generation is so tastefull, I'm gonna go put on the local pop radio station so I can hear LADY GAGA 500 more times. Don't be ludacris all aspects of music have their ups and downs, unfortunately I'd say Pop music is on a large downfall; Michael was probably the best you'll ever see lyrically. So quit bashing someones music when you clearly no nothing about music at all.

Lady Gaga is more preferable than some of the bands like the Killers whose lead singer, while cute, performs like a retard with ridiculous lyrics "are we ___ or are we dancers?"

Depressed "White" Teens is a great way to portray "rock" music... O wait that music is classified as EMO or emotional but you probably knew that and you also porbably already knew that you don't have to be white to sing it.

[edit on 26-6-2009 by NoJoker13]

No, I didn't know that because not all depressed people let out their emotions. But you probably knew that.

And please stop spelling and phrasing like you're from the ghettos.

Some people dont seem to realize the consequences of just having a charge on your record that goes to court, regardless if your found not guilty, its still on your record as a charge.
Despite popular belief, a not guilty charge does not clear "your good name" all it does is acquit you of the crime, avoiding punishment.

Anybody in their right mind, if they could afford to, would pay money to avoid going being charged with a crime and going to court.

But I guess the second time around, hed had enough people trying to blackmail him and did allow it to go to court, despite the family offering him the same deal, pay up and well forget this whole thing.
He was found not guilty in court but the damage was already done and he was convicted in public opinions.

Yeah. Whatever. Keep telling yourself that.

So, only people who had contact with MJ can feel sad? Who are you to tell people how they should feel?

Enough already!!!
I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful. I enjoyed his music and he was very talented and a little wierd (like the rest of us).
NK, as always, is threatening to nuke the US. Iran is in the middle of a revolution. We have a pandemic. The economy continues to crash. Obama is driving us into socialism as hard as he possibly can. Part of the Catholic Church in Etheopia is promising to reveal the real Ark of The Covenant next Friday (who knows?). There is SO MUCH going on that that the media is NOT reporting on.
Are our values that screwed up? It no wonder that America is circling the drain.

You do realize he spent nearly 200 MILLION shutting those families up

right?????He also nearly went bankrupt because of it, It's not really rocket

science at all why would any give away their fortune if they were

innocent??? They wouldn't end of story, say what you want doesn't matter

still can't take away this undeniable fact. But I'll ask you a better question,

if you had the opportunity to prove your innocence and clear your name

forever by a trial in court, why would you then settle out of court for just

about your entire bank roll????? It doesn't make any sense at all to settle

for that type of money unless he was G.U.I.L.T.Y(period)

and if your child was molested would you want to see that person put away or would you just take the money and let him go back on the streets? come on people. Michael is a very easy target. was he strange? yep! Was he eccentric? heck yes! But he was also a completely original form of talent and an artisitc genious. why would you also expect him to be completely "normal"? the man was working his butt off in show buisness since he was 5 years old. He never had a childhood. That certainly over compensated for that in his later years - but that does not make him a child molester.

And yes it's ok to feel sorry for the passing of someone but death is a part of everyday life I work in a nursing home, I'm used to it. Seen many a man and a woman die that were 20x better people then MJ but guess what I felt bad but I didnt shed any tears. It's a part of everyday life so yes GROW UP!

And you think they'd even convict a celebrity??? Especially when having to deal with their highly payed lawyers. Yes, I think taking the money was the smart thing for the family and the stupid thing for michael to do, he would've gotten off just like OJ.

P.S. If I were the father Michael would have been dead long ago.

P.S.S. Nice Avatar Star for you.

All of us knew Michael Jackson's music and much about his private life. None of us knew him personally.

Right now he's a person who died yesterday. Wildly successful - obviously troubled.

Probably those who will suffer financially from his death are those who advanced him large amounts of money and those who have invested in his ongoing career particularly on the aborted tour.

His assets are outstanding rights and royalties on his music, mainly. I wouldn't be surprised to see an increase in demand for his creative works and trademarked products. They will go some distance in satisfying creditors.

His children may not get receive as much as hoped but have the advantage of their connection to an iconic celebrity. Worst case scenario, they might have to work for a living.

Michael J had health problems, some hereditary, others no doubt based on what he did to his body. We don't know if he used non-medication drugs - not unlikely.

At 50 a total wreck of a man and see. One wonders if he was really up to giving a series of performances based on what we have heard of his conditions. We'll never know.

Maybe, just maybe, he went out with more dignity and fondly remembered than he might have.

50 is too young to die. Few have had such a rollercoaster ride of fame, fortune, riches, scandal, controversy.

Mike

Probably been spoke about already but too much to read through. I don't reckon he is dead. This is a conspiracy theory website is it not? Not meant to be in the US but was. Rather than cry wolf on his fans for the UK tour and face the music, forever being hunted down for letting them down he faked his own death. We give all the sympathy, forgiving him whilst he gets away with it and sits on a remote island somewhere tucked away until he dies naturally!

May the young MJ the talented musician be in heaven, may the old mentally disabled child molesting MJ burn in hell.

its tough to accept when such a huge talent and legend is a sick, child molester, but really do yourself a favor and read what these poor kids had to go through, read the police reports.. get your heads on straight.
if he was not MJ you would all be vilifying him, and with good reason

Thanks for another set of eyes and ears on the situation. I forgot all about the police reports but yes anyone wondering what Michael "allegedlly" did check those out. But you may be surprised that your post falls on def ears people here seem to think children shouldn't be able to testify. I suppose they wouldn't know that a males unit doesn't go into the recepticle or something, how people just push that time of his life aside is beyond me. I loved him when I was young and then grew up to realize he was an absolute looney tune, everyone seems to be stuck in neverland.
