AAAAHHHH Bourbon Street, I wish I could remember my time there.

Make sure to sober up at Cafe Du Monde, great coffee and beignets!

Watch the speed traps in Alabama and the ubiquitous "You boys ain't from around here are ya?"

Take care and have fun!

I lived in Ferriday, Louisiana when I was 5. All I remember is getting attacked by fireants and picking pecans off the acreage lawn. I have albums of pictures my folks took that look just like some of these. Great stuff guys. Thanks for taking me back there for a moment! Keep up the good work.

Hmm, that's very strange. The pictures are just some of the ones that the guys have taken so if you can see them in the thread I think you should be able to see them in the Google Earth file (to add them you just use the standard html and I hotlinked to Ian and Mem's photobucket accounts (sorry guys
)

I'm going to try uploading it as a regular kml instead of a zipped kmz and maybe that'll work for you.

Well frah mah hide peeps.

Long day today, not much to really talk about though.

We just did a straight 750 mile highway run from Mississippi to North Carolina.

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/0045f5087163.png[/atsimg]

All in anticipation for tomorrow's travels when we will drive through the outer banks of North Carolina through Hatteras/Kitty Hawk and cross the Chesapeake Bay bridge/tunnel into the DelMarVa peninsula.

I expect that we will have many pics and comments for you tomorrow night.

Cheers Everyone!

I've put up updated Google Earth files for people interested in keeping up with the guys' progress that way. The new one (available either in kmz or kml) has them in North Carolina, approximately where SDog reported from last night

Google Earth Files

p.s. - I know that they're working fine for orange-light but I think blogstalker is still not getting the images. If anyone else has tried them out, could you let me know (here or by u2u) if they are working?

I am using a MAC now and still no luck. It wants to know what application I want to use to open the file...
If the MAC doesn't know I surely don't

Thanks for trying.

Ola pistoleros!

Wow, what an amazing day.

It all started in tears when Ian decided to drive ...

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/a2a2e132db37.jpeg[/atsimg]

I took the wheel and everything got better from there.

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/1687ffb44808.jpg[/atsimg]

Most of the day was spent traveling by boat
and car through the North Carolina outer banks.

It is truly one of the most beautiful places in the US.

Great scenery, great food, great conversation, it was a glorious day.

Shock will be by in a bit to post some comments and some great pictures.

Cheers from me.

Indeed the scenery is spectacular in this part of the world...

A random pic of South Carolina...

As S-Dog stated, most of the trip today was spent on the outer banks and what an incredible experience it was. The Atlantic Ocean now has my preference over the Pacific...

The seagulls were hilarious as they kept time with the boat when they were in the air and even took breathers on the deck...

We were on a boat...

My raggedy faceshot...

Submerged piping for the outer banks...

The Docking Station...

S-Dog warning Ian about further driving possibilities...

And the end of our picture taking day...

The trip today was decidely unconspiratorial but, again, very beautiful scenery...

More pictures of course will be posted as we begin the final run of Road Trip '09...

you want to use Google Earth to open the file. It should be in your "Applications" folder on the Mac. I don't know where it lives in Windows though.

guys! Pictures look beautiful!
