The ATS results come as no surprise to me. The combination of Obama's advertising here and ATS's crackdown on political speech made the difference.

On the bright side...This will quiet down the members who thought ATS was dominated by Conservatives.

Only time will tell how close this will be to the real thing.

It is an eye opener though, I did not realize how entrenched the liberals are.

Also this reminds me of the old Nixon/Kennedy debates

The majority who watched the debate on television felt that Kennedy won and the Majority who listened to it on radio felt that Nixon won, just goes to show that Looks can carry somebody a fair distance.

I cant believe that many people voted for McCain. And the scary part is, is that this is a global site, and the globe does not think too highly of McCain, so im worried that most americans on this board voted McCain.

I dont want it to be this way, and I know in my heart it is not right, but just like Bush, I know McCain is going to win. You cant fight power with good intentions. Doesnt matter if you tell the truth or explain things in ways the general public can understand. Its about following spin and hype.
Using phrases like "America first," "protection from terrorists," the right to bare arms," "the fundamentals are strong"

Those phrases are full sentances in the republican party, and people cheer when they get said. That acctually makes me sick to my stomach like im in the twilight zone or something.

Nothing in the world is done right, so why would the right person be voted to lead us?

Well, that pretty much confirms that ATS users have a liberal bias - a very, very large liberal bias. Good information to know.

Not so. ATS members (conspiracy-theorists) are always against whatever party is currently governing. Next time round it will be just the opposite.

Do you realize how much it would affect the election if all of that 30% voted for ONE third party candidate, as opposed to four of them? Why split up our votes and accomplish nothing when we could all pile on one candidate and accomplish something?

Third parties are too radical.

For instance:

Libertarians and Constitutionalists are twin siblings of the Ultra Right Wing Conservative. Constitutionalists imo are a bit more Socially Conservative, where as the Libertarian is supposed to be 100% indifferent to social ideologies. (if the Gov has no say in it leave it alone)

Socialist are open Democrats and Republicans who admit what they are.. which is why no one will vote for them because the word Socialist makes people uncomfortable..

So why would I as a Libertarian vote for ANYONE other then my candidate? .. why should I vote for a Socialist? .. Or the Green Party if I stand no where near those ideologies...

People supported Ron Paul because he was a charming speaker.. he spoke "truth" in laymans terms..

But he was a hardcore Conservative, a member of the Ultra Right Wing philosophies...

Ron Paul supporters voting for Obama or even McCain is mind blowing.. and it highlights the extent of Ignorance in this country.

I cast my vote to Libertarian but most certainly am not an Ultra Right Wing Conservative. Neither is it true that other Libertarians see themselves that way.

....Tell me then..

How can you claim NOT to be ultra "Right Wing" (Government conservative) when you openly support things like...

Reduced centralized power..
Increased State Rights
Issolationism
Ending Income Tax
Ending Medicare
Ending Social Security
Ending Wellfare
Ending all government subsidies for religion, race, sexuality, income, anything at all ..
Ending all funding for the various alphabet soup agencies..

Just to name a few..

Conservative means:

con·serv·a·tive /kənˈsɜrvətɪv/
Pronunciation[kuhn-sur-vuh-tiv] –adjective
1. disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.

Means to abide by the Constitution, and DO NOT DEVIATE from that document.

Conservative does not have jack to do with "jesus" or morality, or what church you go to, or any of the BS people have been fed.

A REAL conservative would tell you that # shouldn't even be argued as the Government has no say in any of that anyways!

So yes, on the scale of "How conservative are you" .. in the far left would be Republicans, the ignorant jesus praying socialist that they are, and then far to the right, just a itty bitty bit before Anarchy, would be Libertarianism.

There is a difference between

Social Conservative
and
Conservative

Social Conservatives, for the most part, are socialist who are socially conservative, making most Fascist.

Online votes like this are subject to fraud. One person can easily vote multiple times. Not only that, but the votes can also be from non-American's because ATS is on the WORLD WIDE WEB, not just in America.

This goes to show how easily people are brainwashed to vote for major parties.

So this is different in the real world how?

Apparently 833 people

Yes. Non-intervention, non-welfare, non-socialism is supported by most liberatarians.

But we also have a lot of liberal values...especially toward sex, drugs, race, and in wanting to get religion out of politics.

Some people keep saying this site is biased to the left. I can't disagree more. It's all about current times. We all know this is a two-party controlled country. I am a Republican who would vote for Ron Paul. However, I also know if my vote goes to a third party candidate, it's a vote of principle but it won't accomplish anything. Therefore, I go with the lesser of two evils. A vote for McCain means more years of the Bush doctrine. I can no longer sustain or tolerate that. That's why I will vote for Obama.

I'd be curious to know how many Republicans voted for Obama on this poll.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Not to worry LLM...you all make up for it with your willingness to keep up the fight...

You concervative types, of which I am one, by the bye, make a bit more noise per capita, so it all balances out in the end...

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

I would like to share.

There were two polls, one at my small University and one at the largest high school in the county.

University paper ask five students, 2 white males, 1 white female and 2 black males. The three whites voted McCain, two Blacks Obama.

Now the High School vote. This school is over 50% Hispanic and the vote went 75% McCain. I find this very interesting.

You got that right. I made one post that was a political joke and one that asked a hard question and both were Trash Canned in a New York Minute.
