A relatively high percentage of site visitors participated in the 2008 Presidential Poll here on ATS.
Of the votes cast for the two major-party candidates, the Obama/Biden ticket received 63% of the votes, and is the clear winner.
However, as can be expected from the nature of the visitors to ATS, "third-party" candidates received 7,631 total votes, which is a stunning
32% of all votes, and more total votes than were cast for the McCain/Palin ticket.

Wow. I have to say I didn't see that coming. With all the talk about hating the Dems and Repubs and them being the same I was sure that one of the
third parties would take the ball and run with it on here. 32% of total votes isn't a bad start though.

Of the 2-party major candidates. In other words, if we just counted McCain and Obama only, Obama got 63% of those votes.

Well, that pretty much confirms that ATS users have a liberal bias - a very, very large liberal bias. Good information to know.

After a short celebration, I'm now going to hide in my ATS tin-foil hut in hopes of not being stampeded by the ensuing riots...

Oh this can't be right. Obama stole the election. We must ask for a recount.
Just kidding. I trust ATS results much more than the real life results.

Not necessarily. Many people often misunderstand the mindset of the typical "conspiracy theorist." We tend to appear to lean against
whichever political ideology occupies the White House as a matter of habit. If Obama wins, then you'll see the apparent leanings of ATS posts and
opinions lean more toward conservative, merely as a product of criticism and scrutiny of the liberal administration.
I think the relatively high percentage of votes for alternative party candidates shows the true nature of visitors and members of this site.

I wouldn't take the vote serious at all.
Online votes like this are subject to fraud. One person can easily vote multiple times. Not only that, but the votes can also be from non-American's
because ATS is on the WORLD WIDE WEB, not just in America.
Basically this poll was useless, and could have easily been fixed by an Obama fan.
This goes to show how easily people are brainwashed to vote for major parties.

If I am not mistaken, this tally represents how the "world" would vote were they to have a chance to do so in this election.
ATS members and visitors are not just from the U.S. and everyone had a chance to cast their vote.
In that light, its not a surprising result at all!

I wouldn't go that far, but yes, the fact that the vote was open to all members and not just US citizens left the results in little doubt and that
Obama would win easily.
I think its more useful this way, though. It gives a pretty good idea of the overall political leanings of the site.
