Ok, The scarf is real.
She was wearing it at the end of the rally.
I would guess that someone handed it to her, and she put it on.
Just guessing on that though.

But how exactly is this a gaffe?
I'm sure she'd like a few democrats to vote for her.

In that same gallery is a guy wearing a "This democrat is voting McCain" T-shirt.

So what exactly is the problem?

Um...keep spoon feeding yourself that and then go visit the kool-aid stand for some nice grape flavored drink.

I use chopsticks..just like the rest of us will be doing in a few years.

Notice that I merely asked a question.
then you made an assumption.

So, what is your answer?

Well, I gotta hand it to you, I have gained some respect for you with your allowing my post to stand. I will answer that it looks like she hasn't a clue as to just what the scarf means. It clearly shows the democrat mascot with VOTE in BIG BOLD LETTERING.

Now if you see no problem that is fine. I for one think it is a telling sign someone in her position would put on a scarf that handed to her so readily without even looking at what it might represent.

sort of like if someone handed her a scarf with swastikas all around the border

To keep it conspiritorial, Gov. Palin is a secret Demb. plant to make stupid comments and mistakes to insure a Demb. sweep of the WH and both houses. This scarf is just a horrible mistake in showing her true colors as flaming Lib.

As far as I know Democrats are Americans too.

By the way, a photographer friend sent me another photo link.

So ... Since we are discussing Palin's scarf ... and it's obviously NOT one of the newly approved issues that we are supposed to be discussing in the politicis area ... does that mean it's open house on uh-bama and his flag pin flip flopping, etc etc again?

Palin apparently wearing a scarf that encourages one to 'vote democrat' is threadworthy. Why do you feel it necessary to drag out this flag pin thing? I swear it's starting to get a little pathetic out there, and I'll remind you that if you only use that right wing of yours, you'll do nothing but go in circles.

Donkeys are the Democratic symbol... Palin wearing a Vote Democratic scarf? It's very strange. Could it be that she is unaware of the party symbolism and spend some of her recent GOP $150,000 clothing allowance on the pretty scarf?

How mavericky!

Since she doesn't even understand the office of the Vice President, it is quite possible she doesn't understand the GOP symbol.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Ah, but this is a subject that isn't some smear tactic with no basis. The photos seem to be from reliable sources, it is her wearing it, and there isn't going to be a discussion of anything except that fact, and what it might mean about her noticing her surroundings.

Look, this isn't something to claim some grand conspiracy. Nor is it about her lack of intelligence, or anything demeaning toward her at all. It's just a discussion about why she didn't notice what she was doing.

It's just a minor footnote, much like some of the gaffs many people make under such conditions.

What sets this one slightly apart is that it's so visual it's hard to miss. Which makes one wonder what other rookie mistakes she might make.

It certainly doesn't disqualify her for the job. But along with a string of other minor gaffs, it does make a person wonder if this lady has the mental agility to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency. (Maybe she'll be a fast learner, if they win. I hope so.)

I don't think it's a problem. I think it's funny. I don't think it indicates anything. I already think she'd make a terrible VP or president, so it really has no bearing on my opinion of her. She probably saw the red, white and blue and just put it on. I suspect whoever gave it do her did so to make her look stupid.

I think it's pretty funny, though.

This post on page 2 links to a bunch of photos from the same day.

I agree BH. This little episode doesn't really mean anything, but it is good for a laugh. I will definitely be recording some late night comedians tonight though. They are going to have a field day.

I had to e-mail this out to a couple of my republican friends too. Other than the DOW dropping 500 points, this has turned out to be a pretty good day.

That scarf clearly has horses on it. Look at the ears. The ears are no where near big enough to be a donkey's. Sheesh you people dont need to be so insulting about her inteligence and acting like she made this huge gaff to wear her horse scarfe. Especially when it is you that can't figure out the difference between donkies and horses.
Its almost as if you're all obsessed with donkies or something.

But it could be something to do with dog racing.

Whatever.

Lol.

TOTAL DENIAL!

Those arent dogs my friend .. they're obviously horse/donkey shaped in the head and mouth portion, as well as the legs and tail.

I know! Maybe it is a horse racing scarf with vote embroidered on it that some 5 foot 1 jockey gave to her that his grandma custom made! anything but the truth that she's a moron and didn't realize she was wearing the wrong scarf, please!

I can't handle the truth! stop!

anyway. your worst nightmare is almost here Flyers, then we can get on with our lives eh? 13 days away?

a donkey is half horse.

a donkey's ears therefore resemble a horses. that is clearly not evidence enough because who would made such a bizarre scarf? and why would she be wearing it?

plus, the donkey is typically depicted in a cartoon like fashion with exageratted features such as bigger than normal ears. this isnt a cartoony design, its pretty traditional looking.

to me it is not clear enough it could be either. but using the context clues on the scarf, mainly "vote" , i am thinking it is a donkey.

A MULE is half horse and half donkey. A donkey is all donkey.

Mules have big ears. But a scarf with a horse on it that says VOTE is ludicrous. Gov. Palin has become a parody of herself.

Fake or not, at least she is wearing something that still represents America.
One thing we can agree on is at least she's does not have "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" mentality.

No it dosen't represent America. It represents the Democratic Political Party.

Enough with the revisionist reality. Horses my . . .
