CPI is up .4 percent:

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the CPI-U increased 0.4 percent in
February after rising 0.3 percent in January. The energy index rose 3.3
percent in February following a 1.7 percent increase in January as the
gasoline index rose 8.3 percent in February after a 6.0 percent increase
in January. In contrast, the indexes for fuel oil and natural gas both
declined in February. About two-thirds of the all items increase was due
to the rise in the gasoline index. Compared to the July 2008 peak, the
energy index was 29.2 percent lower and the gasoline index was down 44.0
percent. The food index turned down slightly in February, falling 0.1
percent. The food at home index fell 0.4 percent with five of the six
major grocery store food group indexes posting declines in February.

I think I'll get very drunk while watching the markets today. I have a feeling... Just a feeling something big might happen today.

Down 70 points at the moment.

Yes your (and my) cost of living went up

More than expected

10 yr T's rocketing since the CPI announcement, which is backwards for an "inflation print". Hmmm..... someone smell a rat?

Sorry I try to go back in the thread to see the pages I have been missing but when is so many pages in between it gets hard to keep up.

Today this thread has grown overnight.

Still I see a downfall today in the Markets, due to all the various news and reactions of the Public when it comes to AIG.

Plus the word that It will fall anyway or be broken into groups.

Today is going to be a very interesting day to keep an eye on Wall street.

love the article, my friend we have been looted today in our nation and this time our own government is helping the thieves run away with the money.

How pathetic, sometimes I wonder what is going on in Washington, either we have incompetent morons (never trust a lawyer to do your budget) or either they are all in the scam.

Or either the people that they have surrounded themselves with are nothing but corrupted mobsters on pay roll.

AIG will be on congress hearings today, nothing to come out of it but the reassurance that they will be nice next time on how they rob tax payer dollars.

Incredible, I have lost any faith I had on my own government and to tell you the Truth they all nothing more than thieves.

Based on my total speculation I think we bottom out around 7269 on DOW today, if we break that lower we may see some blood, hoping to see based on charts the opposite

EDIT : my other post got removed where I apologized for calling you a man, wanted that to be known

Yes the thread grows quickly - I've had many a morning to catch up 4 or more pages.

Something hinky is going on today - there were no indicators pointing to a drop, no good or bad overnight news.

Euro is strong taking out resistance at 1.308-1.309 and bonds are stronger even though cpi was hot. T's a re practically rocketing.

Is it possible that something was leaked somewhere that Qualitative Easing may be on the FOMC table today? idk

If you can't catch it where you are - here's link to live feed

Anyone catch that Freudian slip at the AIG hearing TRAP - I mean TARP
