To my knowledge, I had never observed a UFO as a youngster nor experienced an "alien" encounter although, as an adolescent, I did spend many country
nights outside sky watching (without anything better to do).
After college graduation, when I was around 26 years old, I had some disposable income and began to spend time reading whatever I could about UFOs
(the topic quickly becomes an umbrella topic coving many different but interlinked subjects). Figured I was old enough to make my own educated
decisions about UFOs by reviewing the works of others with some "field" work of my own.
I think it was 1995 when Whitley Streiber was going to be speaking at a UFO conference in Gulf Breeze, Florida, after many years of publishing
silence, we made a decision to attend. That began a number of years of attending UFO conferences with eventual trips to Mexico, Brasil, and
England.
Only thrice, during the travels, did we observe something unidentified in the sky. Twice in one night (1995) at Shoreline Park in Gulf Breeze,
Florida, and once in Mexico (1996) near the volcano Mt. Popocatépetl. Financially, the traveling stopped when we attempted to help a friend,
diagnosed as bi-polar, around 2001.
I think everyone must decide for themselves whether to believe in extraterrestrial, interdimensional entities, ghosts, angels, etc... One thing for
sure, you won't see anything in the sky if you are not looking.
Over the years, we have also observed a large black balloon at low altitude, an escorted B-2 stealth bomber, countless satellites (should see at least
one every 15 minutes), an orb of light which appeared to bounce to the ground before disappearing which then re-appeared across the road in the
neighboring field, and most memorable, a very, very small meteorite, which appeared on a perpendicular collision course, with our car, but missed.
Australia seems to have many UFO reports. Just get away from your computer and television and spend time out doors...
