. . . that authenticity is important here on ATS, because if we are ever going to get real information on contacts or sightings, we need to weed out the fakes and the hoaxers.
We need to be very careful about what is presumed to be the truth because though it can set you free, it can also be very elusive.

I got burnt, but its a learning curve isn't it ? Question is, what happens when some one else has a close encounter or stunning day light sighting ?
Are they going to come to ATS and share ? like hell are they - my u2u box alone is testimony to that.

i diched the images I grabbed because i didn't want to get my arse flamed for saying
'aliens are hiding in my local woods'.
Hence I deleted the origionals. However, I do believe some thing is going on in / around the wooded area of Inverness.

You are correct...the knife allegedly lost "embedded" in the "alien's" back, was the CRKT fighting knife. The allegedly "broken" lockblade is not identified other than being a "CQB" knife, I think, it's kinda' muddled.....presumably a "close quarters battle" knife. (Who uses a lockblade in close quarters?)
Refer back to the photo of the "broken knife"....it has been generally abused. Plus, it includes a "scaling" blade....fish scales that is. (Who uses a lockblade that includes a "scaling" tool for close quarters battle?) The second blade has been abused....notice the bend in the blade. Plus, and most importantly......why is the entire backing plate of the knife missing? You can clearly see the fingers of the hand between the side plates.
I think the knife had been disassembled some time in the past.

This story has no facts to speak of. So I feel I must base this on the story itself. And it simply has too many holes to be taken seriously imo. If I had this sort of thing happen to me, I'd describe it in GREAT detail. Not "I crushed its eyeball, and it exploded." This strikes me as a story of someone trying to garner attention, while trying to show how "bad" they are. That means nothing to me. The story lacks common sense. It has too many "omg that's too outrageous to believe!" moments. I know how people actually react in a serious situation. Calling a wife to toss you a knife by a name you gave it, with no pause, and she knows exactly what you want, and she delivers it in a throw directly into your hand... just.. no...
It has so many holes, logical faux pas, unreal "no way" moments, I am stunned so many are buying this. I would not have: reacted like he did, posted on the boards like he did, failed to call any authorities, as he did, was mostly unphased as he was, etc...

And what of the dolphin in water image... Gives a new meaning to So long, and thanks for all the fish... Wonder if it was done to create something really absurd so the brain thinks it must be dreaming. Or was it to suggest a friendly animal? Hmm.

There is ZERO evidence the knife was taken apart. You all want the little shard. Well perhaps, the clean up crew took it you know, since they cleaned every last cell of their escaped prisoner, or commerade, no one knows.....
Originally posted by Nola213Also the reason this story IS different than others is DT is a long time Poster, not someone who signed up and then wrote some outlandish story.
It's called witness credibility. It's a term often used in courtrooms. Just like a cop is a better witness than someone on '___', get it?

I sorta lost faith in this story after the part where Dan said he and his wife went back to sleep after the encounter.
