Dan, what is the deal with you not coming back to the thread you started?

Many of your fellow members are still very interested in your story. You have left us hanging.

If you can fight and overcome an alien you can surely hold your ground with this thread. Don't run away like a scared little lamb. Stand up and be a man. It seems like you are running back to the safety of R.A.T.S.

In my opinion, if you do not see this through it will be very hard to respect your views about anything when you post in ATS forums again.

You knew it was going to be rough when you started your thread in ATS. You've sucked us all in and many of us have supported you. I believe you owe your supporters a finish to this thread and not leave us hanging.

I mean you no disrespect but feel you have disrespected the members that have contributed to your thread.

Do the right thing Dan.

I would have to agree

I haven't been reading this thread at all really, just a couple of posts, here and there.

That being said. that like 60 pages in, that is your punch line? Make yourself a little less ignorant and find the post that has actually used that already.

Or listen to toll booth willie you explitive unoriginal explitive.

Im trying to piece together your tale and its just not ringing as truth to me. Something is amiss with this story.

I just have never outside of the creature from the black lagoon have ever heard of such a creature that you describe, the description of the way that the little guys cleaned up the evidence as well seems a little off.

I just don't know.

Try this on for size - seems that these interesting folk have been part of our world (in some form or another) for a very long time....and its certainly part of the UFO literature....

The 'good news', sounds like a cheap thriller there fella.
The part where you jump from seeing the alien to plunging a knife into countless times is too much like 'violent fiction' to me. The story reads more like a description of violence than anything else, with an amazing focus on gory detail, almost to the irrelevance of the rest of the story. It doesn't read like a person that was traumatised would write it and your literary skills are much higher than average folk, meaning the alien had the double misfortune of meeting an aliencidal novelist!
I guess you are doing this as a sort of creative writing class.

Alright so I've been reading this thread for a few days now, partly because my sister is currently staying near where Dan lives and has told me about rumors of strange events in the past few weeks.

It makes me sad to see that Dan has actually been driven out of his own thread by people who go crazy at the very thought of an abstract event taking place. Everyone claims "omg there's no proof!" and would still not be content if Dan had dropped his knife to go grab a video camera so he could make it back just in time to catch footage of his wife and kid torn to bits by some creature from out of our comprehension. People its threads like this that give this forum meaning... I personally am sick of all of the threads saying "oh my god the new world order is making their next big move and putting thousands of big plastic coffins at their internment camps!" for one, I find this thread more credible then half of those mis-informative threads. At least this guy keeps his story straight.

I've read every post by Dan (skipping over most of the people flaming him because to me 90 percent of those posts are useless) and can tell you, apart from a few spelling and wording errors, Dans story has been nothing but constant. Call me crazy, but I for one kinda believe him. Not because his replies and answers have been constant and unchanged, but because he came on here and openly said that it was because he had nowhere else to go. This man was severely disturbed by something, and he looked to this forum to try to make sense out of what had happened to him. Think of what would happen to you if you called the police and claimed you had been attacked by some kind of alien. They would probably take your kid away or something because they would see you how every troll on this forum sees Dan. As a psychotic man looking for attention.

but all of this aside... and even in a scenario that dans story is in fact false...

The main reason I am posting on this thread... is because it makes me sad to know that If I am ever thrown into a situation where something that goes beyond our understanding happens to me... and I come out of it with nothing more than a few scratches a broken knife and a story with some drawings I might be able to make... I would be on my own to try to figure out what had happened to me, because people are so quick to judge someone by their lack of solid proof. But the worst part is... while I'm trying to figure all of this out on my own, I'll be kept awake each and every night by the fear of this creature returning for some kind of revenge. I cant relate, but I can only imagine how much worse it must be to have a child to worry about in this situation.

It truly is a sad world that we live in today people. :/

I'll say an extra prayer tonight for you Dan, and I hope you come back to this thread only once to read this post and know that there are some people out there that do care. I am one of them.

No need to take my frivolous post so harshly dear sir.

But thanks for getting Snorky onto two pages

Oh, and no, I unfortunately haven't had the time nor urge to devote myself to read the entire 60 pages of this nonsense.

But I guess now if Snorky is on three pages, we can get a theme going here.

You should write a book about it dan.

Perhaps this isn't the first time someone has encountered a fishman and others who read the book might be courageous enough to tell us what they experienced too.

I like the story about the shadow man who whisper your name while you were asleep. (whoever mentioned this story)
Write some freaking books. It's interesting stuff. I think I have had something like it happen to me. Just this whisper of my name while I awoke. I thought my mind was playing tricks on me at the time but after hearing about that here, now I'm thinking some kind of entity was there screwing with my mind.

And yeah to the skeptics the proof isn't there but it's not like something people are going to encounter every day. If people were prepared for an event like that they might have had time to monitor it. Some members who live near this guy should go into the woods and see what is going on in there.
Come back and post what you see.

edit: and no I'm not a disinfo agent, I am a noob who lurks on ATS occassionally and have had an interest in UFO as a hobby since I was a kid. But if there are government agents: GTFO out of these conspiracy sites and stop wasting tax dollars trying to surpress information about this stuff. With all the energy spent wasting time here you could be using the alien tech to help society.

too bad thats not everyone being a "healthy skeptic" if you read some of the posts.. some of them are pretty ignorant.. and I mean ignorant because some will make a comment on the violence when he put several warnings up.. or find a "logic" problem with his alien encounter... I ask this... what exactly about any alien encounter/visitation would strike anyone as normal? .... "well that doesnt make sense.. because if that were to happen.. then it SHOULD have happened like this, therefore you're making it up"

I have read the entire thread and continue to do so and this is what i've noticed anyways

I wish I could share the many u2us with you that are saying 'look, thanks for sharing, I had an alien encounter and I am scared to share' or 'I seen something over the village near where I live like you picture of the black UFO'....

The reason I have taken myself back into RATS is two fold. Serious long term members won't come here and post BECAUSE of the nature of their own experiences and also because of the sheer volume of personal attacking going on.

I will say it again as I have done time and time again. I came into ATS from RATS because a few people in chat wanted to add but didn't have the points to. I exposed myself to the boards against the ebtter judgment of senior members here on ATS.

I got burnt, but its a learning curve isn't it ? Question is, what happens when some one else has a close encounter or stunning day light sighting ?

Are they going to come to ATS and share ? like hell are they - my u2u box alone is testimony to that.

well man if yer looking for reasons to believe him... I cant see how ya think thats going to work.. all you can do is either believe or not believe what someones saying.. thats it thats all...

and for the ppl posting about "being an attention whore for making up a story" wouldnt the ppl posting the comments be looking for attention? UPSET by the fact that anyone could possibly believe Dan?

man why do you honestly care if ppl believe his story or not.. it really has nothing to do with you personally.. unless you like to deal with other ppls "faults" before your own... he who casts the first stone my friend..

you can label me if ya want to but fact is you dont know me and I dont know you... I cant see alot of the ppl on this website knowing each other personally.. so why try and make assumptions? wheres the LOGIC in ANY alien encounter??

I am new-ish here. I don't base anything on personalities, avatars, points (I don't even yet know what they are for), or anything else. As a completely neutral party, I can't bring myself to believe this. I am not trying to be "mean, " cruel, nasty, unsupportive, bashing, or any other abjective you want to come up with. I base my beliefs on facts. With the lack of evidence, I'll base it on common sense, logic, and just plain 'ol believability.

This story has no facts to speak of. So I feel I must base this on the story itself. And it simply has too many holes to be taken seriously imo. If I had this sort of thing happen to me, I'd describe it in GREAT detail. Not "I crushed its eyeball, and it exploded." This strikes me as a story of someone trying to garner attention, while trying to show how "bad" they are. That means nothing to me. The story lacks common sense. It has too many "omg that's too outrageous to believe!" moments. I know how people actually react in a serious situation. Calling a wife to toss you a knife by a name you gave it, with no pause, and she knows exactly what you want, and she delivers it in a throw directly into your hand... just.. no.

I'm sorry if some of you are buds of Dan. If you were serious about the study of this material, you wouldn't let that bias you. Try to look at it objectively. If you heard this from some joe schmoe off the street, would you believe them? Does the story really stand up on its own?

It has so many holes, logical faux pas, unreal "no way" moments, I am stunned so many are buying this. I would not have: reacted like he did, posted on the boards like he did, failed to call any authorities, as he did, was mostly unphased as he was, etc.

At least don't bash those who are skeptical. This unreal story demands skepticsm. To do less is a dishonor imo, to ufolology, alien study, etc.

Folks, here you are on the page..errr...yes... 59, still discussing a story involving a fish-man filled with marmalade.

ATS is my only source of entertainment, has been for years and it will be for a long time to come. Threads like this one can show you why, I hope.

Ultra serious discussions about a story about a fish-man filled with marmalade scattered across 60 pages of insane rotflness.

Yes, whole ATS is a joke, but a very good one, at least for me.

Who are you going to call? Ghost Busters? I would definitely not call my local police department. I would be put in the mental ward at the hospital asap.

Even knowing I would get flamed and bashed the only logical place I would go after an encounter with an alien would be right here at ATS.

Think about this......when he asked his wife to throw him a knife he wasn't asking her to throw it but a few feet. You take the knife by the blade and throw it as you would an underhand soft ball, slowly. It is not far fetched to me as my brother and I threw knives at trees when we were growing up. I tossed him his knife often. And when you live with someone long enough you do get in sync with them.

I would bet my bippy that you have never been so scared that you messed your pants and your blood pressure shot up so high your head felt like it was going to bust and it was all you could do to breath. I've been there. You gain enormous strength from the adrenaline coursing through your body.

I cannot call Dan's story a hoax nor absolutely true as I have had an encounter myself. I would like to be able to discuss this in an adult manner with Dan.

I guess there is nothing left for me to do but pay my dues and join R.A.T.S.

So let me get this straight. You think that someone who reported just stabbing a 6ft tall fish monster nearly to death with knives, and beating on them over 100 times with their fists wouldn't be coming to ATS and complaining that they 'got burnt' and all traumatized and stuff by posts on a message board?

I dunno, in many ways, message boards can be way harsh.

But this is why I think the OP needs to go get checked out physically. There could be unnoticed trauma or something missing?

The net gives small puny people with no social life act like a cross between Hugh Hefner and Arnold Schwarzenegger... But the sad reality of it all is that if this was a discussion in a bar, they'd be a piece of meat in the corner of the room that's been beaten to a pulp for being such an idiot. That or a pussy. And that's a fact.

Most people here can't stand up for them selves when it comes to a real life conversation between real people face to face. They have an enormous ego on the internet but in real life they spend all their time online surfing for porn and pretending to be apart of a greater cause or having had experiences that makes them so unique compared to everyone else...

If you intend to insult most people on this forum I seriously have to wonder why you are here. Why not get back out into the real world where you apparently are a Big Shot instead of trying to belittle the people here? Or is it perhaps so that you really aren't a Big Shot at all? Just someone with a real sinister looking Avatar and a minority complex.

----

As for the thread itself, I'm all for scrutinizing any claims, especially if they are as fantastic as Dan Tanna's. It is an incredible tale, and if it is in fact true I would consider Dan a very lucky man for getting the upper hand in the confrontation.

Personally I do not know whether to believe or not, but I definately have to count myself as a person who believes that there are much more to life than can be easily seen at first glance. What truly appals me though is the amount of abuse that is being thrown Dan's way. If you choose to not believe that is up to you and perfectly fine. But why the need for such hostility? In what way does it affect your life that there is someone posting something you don't believe on an internet forum somewhere? Thruth is, it doesn't in the slightest.

Being a prick is dso easy in the anonymity online, but I think it would be better if those that harbour this hostility turn it towards the things in life they are really angry at, rather than shaming themselves this way.

Healthy sceptisiscm and discussion is good. It's what these boards are for, but this hostility isn't helping any one.

Look, the reason this absurd thread is so infuriating is because there are many people who once loved this place. I have been reading the threads for a couple years, and never felt the urge to comment until this garbage arrived. You have a few select individuals who truly have experienced something legitimate, and have absolutely NOWHERE to really find mutual input except maybe in ATS, but when someone posts junk like this, it is the same as them taking a dump on what true believers and skeptics alike are trying to accomplish.

This thread was extremely selfish, and despite the lack of intuitive thinking and logical assessment of the OP's believers, I don't hate them, I am mad FOR them, whether they think I'm an inconsiderate jerk or not. I could care less, because along with DT, all of you're credibility went out the window because you have displayed a complete void of even the most basic rational response to a thread that SCREAMS bs. Who cares about the points it generates at this point, after reading this, do any of you even want to interact with the individuals in RATS? I sure as hell would'nt. DT took a nice steamy one on thier credibilty to.

You guys all play the martyr card everytime one of us "trolls" try to point out the millions of holes in this story, acting like the guy is being crucified for sharing...PLEASE. He's being crucified because the wave of trite, fictional nonsense that has slowly been destroying ATS over the last year has gone too far, and those of us who truly want to explore these many subjects are trying to defend ourselves and this sanctuary from what I consider a cancer. I would never have run anyone who truly displayed belief in an experience through the ringer, I'm actually a nice guy believe it or not, despite my sarcastic posts, but this guy does NOT believe, he is straight up full of it and any rational individual can pick that out from his writing no matter which persona he is using.

As long as the moderators see fit to keep this garbage alive, I and anyone else have the right to criticize it.

PS. If I thought Dan Tanna was truly just mentally incompetent I'd have been much more compassionate, but he is not. He is a class A fabricator and it even makes me wonder if this miserable thread was little more than an attempt to get more traffic in RATS, as well as plebian ATS. That would explain many of the choices made by our moderators. Sure does mirror the current state of the good ole USA doesn't it.

Surely if you're in the US you should have had a magnum stashed under you're pillow incase of intruders. You're not going to take down and interdimensional Supreme Being Fish Man with a cruddy knife. Next time blow its stinking fishy brains out with a .45 or a shotty. Do you know you may have caused an intergalactical political storm over this alien murder.

Your story reminds me of takedown moves akin to Chuck Norris.
