The White House stated on Tuesday that President Bush would veto the FY 2008 HHS-Labor-Education Appropriations Bill because of the cost and "objectionable provisions" such as a measure to ban the use of childhood flu vaccines that contain thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative, a press release from Autism advocacy group Safe Minds on the PRNewswire-USNewswire states.

Bush is calling for an amendment that would remove the children's safety provision from the bill.

This is just wrong, after Bush said in his 2004 campaign that he would work to get thimerosal out of vaccines for children he is now going to veto a bill that would help remove the thimerosal.

Many people believe these vaccines are the leading cause of autism. I would not let my children take any vaccine containing mercury in it, I think we learned a long time ago that stuff is no good for you, so why is it still in our children's vaccines?

Since the mercury is used as a preservative it is not a necessary part of the vaccine, only making it more marketable and much more profitable.

Well what can you expect from somebody that have to preserve corporate profits not matter what.

I think that any parent that will allow this substance inside their children bodies will be as guilty as the president's veto.

So all they have to do is ban their children from any Mercury on their children vaccine.

Hell if you are a parent you are also responsible to find out what is going on your child's body.

BTW one of the jobs of government is to lie to the people during campaigns and then do as their lobbyist tell them to do once in power.

I provided a snippet of the specific law regarding this and they still claimed immunisations did not contain thimerosal. Here is the proof and yet again, people will debate it. Even when the truth is slapping them in the face, they don't want to see it.

I think this just shows the character of the man in the Oval Office. To expressly say that he doesn't want our children's vaccine to be safer, he is blatantly saying that drug company's profits are more "valuable" than the lives and health of America's children. Incredible!

When I was a para-pro at a school, We had a girl in our class who looked very normal, but she was "slow". I found out that due to an immunization, she had suffered brain damage and the family was awarded almost $1,000,000. My oldest children had already had thier vaccinations. My youngest is two and I'm not allowing any poisons to be injected into him. Thank God for the internet and education. It's the same way with amalgum fillings.

I've got a mouth full of amalgam, and have learned to take EDTA to help remove the mercury (and other toxins) from my system. I recommend it generally, I can definitely tell the difference in my memory and cognitive abilities.

I think there's more to this than just big pharma profits. I believe it's part of a larger plan to dumb down the populace to make us easier to control.

OK-how can ANYONE prove thimerisol causes autism? How do you explain the study after study that found no link? How do you explain that autism rates remained the same *even after* the preservative was phased out?

for every person that has one conclusion, there are 10 others with another. But in this case, i would say that the facts are far too damaging to those that profited, and if they didnt come up with their own studies with thier own scientists, then i would even consider them worthy of corporate america.

I remember in the delivery room how intimidated i felt, i didn't know it took 8 people dressed in pastels to deliver a baby. When that lady held the needle up and looked down at my son, everything slowed down and i knew something wasnt right about it. nobody said anything to me about administering a needle at birth (vitamin b i believe). I didnt react fast enough, i guess i was in shock, plus been up all night, but i wish i would have tested the limits of this procedure a little more.

In the 2 months after he was born, he has gone for 3 more shots i believe (i stay out of it to save arguments), and im sure more are planned. I feel deeply that these shots are wrong, and i dont trust a pharmasutical industry that survives on the quantity of drugs taken and the stratigical avoidance of lawsuits. If they made a mistake 50 years ago, and missed something... I forgive them, but i dont think that they will forgive themselves enough to make the neccassary adjustments.

That's hardly the same!!! Thimerisol has been removed from pediatric vaccines (tho it's still technically legal) AND no one is exposed to all chemicals at in vaccine as the sponsors of this "challenge" would have you believe happens.

It's just a bunch of disinfo to prop up the chelation drug market.

I think television and all of the entertainment we're surrounded with kind of does the job pretty well already though huh?

Got wonder what the full 2008 HHS-Labor-Education Appropriations Bill contains, if he said he was for taking the mercury out. Seems like someone slapped it on the bill maybe? I cant stand GWB, but I wonder what the real reason for vetoing the bill is?

People who have a higher risk to autism are currently advised not to have children due to their higher risk.

Many former members of Skull & Bones had alleged links to the Eugenics Society. I know this would be a very small part to limit the population of "inferior" people, but I relate it to if you were to take 1 penny from every American. Even though it was just a penny, after all was said and done, you'd end up with approximately $3 million.

And this is just a small part of what the AES has become today since it was disbanded. I still believe Eugenics is alive and well in America and plays a large part in driving foreign policy. Members of some of the most powerful groups in the world are admitted enthusists of Eugenics.

"When President George W. Bush signed the Homeland Security Act in the White House on Monday...three thousand miles away, Portland lawyer Mike Williams of the law firm Williams Dailey O'Leary Craine & Love rolled his eyes.

Williams represents hundreds of families who are suing pharmaceutical companies--in particular, Eli Lilly--over a mercury-based preservative [thimersol] used in some childhood vaccines. The families contend that the preservative triggered neurological damage in their children, who have been diagnosed with autism.

Last week, Williams was stunned to learn that an unknown lawmaker had slipped a last-minute rider into the Homeland Security Act, shutting down the lawsuits in the name of the war on terrorism."

Eli Lilly, which made $1.6 million of political contributions in the last election cycle, has strong ties to the Bush administration.
