I have to say that while I am sorry to see the "fellowship" adjourn until the next ridiculous hoax appears (it's almost summer... I bet we won't have to wait long ) it is true that the only thing keeping the drone hoax going, in any significant way, is this thread on this site.

In that light, I agree it's time to let it go into the ethereal abyss from whence it came.

i had to go thru and lock some things down after dreamhost alerted me to a couple unauthorized login attemps on my domain.
but i'm pretty sure everything is still there and accessible.

this golden queen drone? forgot about that ones drone similarity.

@sidd - ok, this is my take on the incorrectness mentioned.

1111 in his first 2d analysis used sun altitude at 20 and azimuth at 270.

in my first 3d analysis max v8 calculated what i thought was with daylight savings 28 and 274.

but this is incorrect, there is a small bug in max where the display of the azimuth and altitude numbers don't get updated in the ui in realtime when checking the daylight savings time check box (bug is also in the current version 2008 sp1).

the true, according to the Astronomical Applications Department of the U.S. Naval Observatory, az and alt are 15.8 and 282.5.

when the max ui refreshes after deselecting then reselecting the lighting system the numbers are 15 and 282.

in any case, 15\282 or 20\274 show that the long drone arm in that alignment would cast a shadow.

and again, i illustrated where the shadows should fall in 3d space given the exif data and using rough geometry of estimated scales and rough positioning. this doesn't explain why that shadow isn't visible in the photograph.
