the drivers would all like the track to be glass smooth but there will always be bumps and uneven areas that develop, tracks are mainainted as well as possible but there will always be wrinkles. imo not a big story this year

i didn't get to see sports center but it would be my guess, just think of the beating your roads take during the winter, potholes, broken pavement etc. would be different in florida of course but the weather would still take it's toll

F-14 Flyover before the Hershey's Kisses 300, the 1st Busch race. AWESOME. Not to mention they land near the track, so they show the cars comming down the backstretch during the warmup lap, and in the background one of the F-14's were landing. It was sweet.

Weather for Sunday. Rain early in the morning, stopping by 9AM ET. Temps not expected to be above 70 degrees. Will the cooller weather affect the speeds? More side-by-side racing or less?

Biffle has engine problems and JR will be on the Pole for the 500.

News Source Associated Press via FOXSports.com
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Daytona 500 pole-winner Greg Biffle will have to start at the back of the field in Sunday's race after being forced to change engines.

Biffle's misfortune bumps up favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr. to start from the inside of the front row when the green flag waves.

Biffle noticed a loss of power during practice Saturday morning. Back in the garage, a valve defect and leaking cylinder were discovered.

Comments:
This certainly makes things a little different. Things are going JRs way. I think someone is smiling upon him this weekend.

That sure makes the race interesting now.

Looks like a few others have the same fate to drop to the back of the field after changing engines were Ryan Newman, Ricky Craven and Derrike Cope.

Scott Riggs, who wrecked his primary car in the qualifying race Thursday, also must go back after switching to a backup.

They're not going to be able to run the Hershey's Kisses 300 because of rain, I hope it's nice and dry by race time tomorrow.

Yes, they actually got 31 laps in before the stoppage so they will resume Monday morning in the order they were when it was stopped. It's set to resume at 11 am EST.

Dale Earnhardt Jr is leading after the 31 laps and it's a 120 lap race.

Here is the rest of the running order:

Is this the race where our fantasy league stars?? Or is the race on sunday?

the fantasy league is for the race on sunday, the race that has been postponed is a companion series, 1 step below the main race, a lot of the nextel cup drivers will race in it though

Not every week, but typically NASCAR runs the Busch Cup races on Sturday and the Nextel Cup races on Sunday although Nextel has some exciting Saturday night races under the lights. NASCAR also runs a Craftsman Truck series. sports.espn.go.com...

with tonights rain at daytona it will be a green track tomorrow, concerns about the new tires has been the story all week and now with no rubber in the track the tires will be even more of a question mark, i predict that tires will be THE major story of the race

Check out the garage cam now, it looks like it dried up with the exception of a few puddles.
