No I read you loud and clear last time you posted. That being said your point still doesn't make sense. When illegal aliens abuse and use our public welfare and social programs it ties up the systems and effects the lives of real tax paying citizens. In this thread we really haven't been talking about the measly jobs they work but the benefits of being a citizen that they steal from us.

The rest of us are talking about illegal aliens sucking up space in emergency rooms, tying up space in prisons, and not integrating with the rest of our country.

Have you ever seen the resources Brazil, or Mexico has to offer? Of course, because we have set up companies to exploit everything their land has to offer, and we paid them enough wages to keep them happy, while none of the real money makes it back into their economies. It goes towards some CEO's new Benz, or a house in the Hamptons.
We should embrace them, not turn them away. If comming here legally were easy, I am sure most would. We owe them a shot here, legal or not. The medical care and schooling they are stealing should be human rights, not a matter of economics.

Mexico has oil assests and Brazil has a pretty vibrant tourism industry. And btw I don't meet many illegal Brazillians. And the whole repressed economies and anti-imperialist anti-campitalist rant? That isn't the point of the thread. Mexico if so repressed by American companies should spend more time trying to reverse that position than trying to help their own people cross our borders and take advantage of our legal systems.

Where I live the wages in restuarants are held down just because of them. They will work for nothing, just tips.
OK my point is, how do we pin point all the issues, we need to come up with facts, numbers, who has time to look for these details, most of us work and pay taxes
I would gladly write every congressman in the country if I had facts.
Some body give us some links with numbers good sane articles.
And let us ignore the selfrightious gold diggers.

Those of you who doubt the border could be effectively sealed across the entire southern region have obviously never heard of Korea.

Seal it, and seal it now. Once the fence is erected everyone will get used to it and wonder what all the fuss was about.

Agent47, I suppose this whole thing isnt about money? What are you whining about? The mexicans moving here, having babies in YOUR hospital, using up YOUR welfare? If this post isnt about economics, there isnt much left other than racism. If you build a wall, our world image drops a little more. We are comming closer and closer to a police state, why not a wall? Also, do some research. Brazil and Mexico as well as most of Latin America have a lot more than oil and tourism. We (Americans) love just about everything about these countries, except the fact that everyone is poor by our standards. We should blend our borders, and make use of everything they have to offer, and help bring them all of the things that make us proud to be Americans. If people like you spent more time uniting people, rather than erecting walls to seperate us, this world would enjoy a much better standard of living per capita.

I live on a border with Mexico and have done this COUNTLESS times. They dont shoot at you, you are more than welcome to walk in.

It has to do with money yes but it isn't all about "stealing jobs" as every one of your posts has been about. Beyond the lost tax revenues its the issues of security, non integration, and the face illegal immigrants leech on our country while not earning it. And yes it is "my welfare" and "my hospitals" as it is "our welfare" and "our hospitals" as legal citizens or resident aliens.

I agree that free trade ultimately increases prosperity globally but theres a line between exchanging free trade for security and sovereignty. We have a right to preserve our security and integrity as a nation by securing our borders, and still continue to be able to conduct free trade with our neighbors. It isn't one or the other. By securing our own prosperity and borders we preserve our economy and thereby insure that we can continue to improve our neighbors economies through free trade.


This thread isn't about ending NAFTA, legal immigration, or racism, its simply about solving the problem of illegal immigration.

There is nothing wrong with Mexicans immigrating to the United States. In fact it is a good thing that people go there in the hopes of becoming law-abiding and taxpaying citizens.

The problem is when they do it Illegaly. No one should be able to break the law and it is no excuse for them to be able to break the laws of the country they wish to live in if they really want to go to the US for a better life.

I personally do not see anything wrong with a wall. It would not be racist but help enforce the law and cut illegal immigration.

I am glad you are a bit more rational than I thought Agent. I do agree with the security problems, but I dont think a wall is worth our security. I honestly think our politics are making us more insecure, not South American immigrants. And jobs, and hospitals, and welfare, and the penal system is money. If these things werent money we would have no issue because they would be plentiful. I just think these things are such a financial drop in the bucket compared to say...The drug war, the majority of the space program, or about 1500 or so elites that make millions a year. These things are a waste of money and a huge weight in the balance of our economic distribution. I am too lazy to search for quotes so you can blow me off if you want, but if you care to search and see how much money is wasted on silly programs and rich people salaries you would realize that with slightly more socialist spending habits we would all enjoy a better standard of living and we wouldnt be so worried about illegal immigrants. Us Americans should all wish a better standard of living for all humans on this planet. I hope someday everyone will enjoy the freedoms and ways of life that we share. Despite our faults we are still the greatest nation on earth, so why not expand to include the struggling democracys of Latin America? As for assimilating them into our culture...I think thats what most americans need is a little culture. Dont force them to learn English, you should learn Spanish. Most Europeans know a second language, why not us?

Actually its great you brought this up because I feel that NASA is a giant black hole that sucks money from the U.S. What this does is run over budget constantly and get bailed out every time by the government. If NASA was a corporation it would have gone bankrupt years ago.

And yes the drug war is ridiculous, all that money could be saved by legalizing certain drugs and taxing them.

I'm with you one hundred percent on those issues, but the foreign language issue? I can't really comment on that because I do speak spanish but I understand where english people are coming from.

The people trying to immigrate legally would not be affected by the wall. Legal immigrants are a good thing, as they for the most part want to assimilate to American culture and obey the law.

I am glad to see people are starting to see the light here! I am for the wall but in the wright way. Agent47 is on the same page as myself and most others. It's to bad that power and money has corrupted some people and they are making us pay for there power. By the way. The wall is just a small dent in the fight to stop incoming flow. The other 1/2 get here with work visas and just don't go back.

What the hell are we waiting for? Another bigger 9/11? JESUS CHRIST THIS IS ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION HERE, we're not pondering about stopping legal migration, this is ILLEGAL.

I just hope we haev a politican that has balls to think # THOSE HISPANIC VOTES, MY COUNTRIE'S SAFETY IS MORE IMPORTANT.

Went to Wine Country in the Valley de Guadalupe approx. 50 miles southeast of the San Diego/ Tijuana border. Drove into around and out of Mexico freely!!! Had a blast and will do it again soon. I

unerstand that illegal immerration is a major problem but a much bigger prroblem would be the economic effectiveness of my great state (California) without an illegal workforce!!!!

Thanks for sayin that for me Howl. The only "terrorists" in mexico are the EZLN and I have a hard time calling them terrorists. They are more freedom fighters from my perspective and they are not out to get the US. They are fighting for a democracy without so much of our influence, but they are not part of our war on terror, however, I am sure Bush will get to them eventually if left unchecked.
The only ones flooding over our borders are the ones who would be having their babies in the back of a pickup truck, or would be working in an american/mexican factory that paid like $50 a week. They are here for a better standard of living, not to disrupt ours.
