as an update, I can see that Camra are not going to consider that pub for any more awards due to suspicions of racism about the landlord and landlady (He was pictured in a Britain First shirt which is massively dubious unless you are some National Front type).

Apparently, it was simply ""convenient"" to wear the shirt.

So the golliwogs might not be inherently racist, or intended to be by most.

As to the landlord, well on that note i don't think we can be quite so sure.

It all comes out in the wash i suppose.

Yeah I dont think that sort of t shirt would be convenient for most people cos most people will not own one, big red flag that and I gotta say its highly likely the pair of them are wrong uns but, my outrage was the waste of resources. I mean if you dont want them to keep gollies, just write and say get rid or we will oppose your next licence application, job done.

Well this seems a good point to end this thread.

On the one hand we have the state of the country being displayed here because someone was offended...and the police who say they dont have the resources to respond to thefts and even violent crimes like rape send 6 officers to deal with these dolls.

On the other hand, both the landlord and his wife are clearly racists and thats the real reason they had these dolls up.

Now he is bleating about not being racist... You can argue the rights and wrongs of racism etc but that aside if you are gonna be it, have the courage to own your behaviour.

Seems dumb to me, insurance will pay out and with things being highly publicised any other compensation and the likes is going to be easily chased.

As to daft, i tend to agree as to the entire shebang.

Then again smart people tend not to wear "Britain First" shirts.

Or make silly racist comments like those the landlord has come away with on social media.

My point is they won't be paying for it will they, taxes and insurance will. There's probably a couple of good compensation claims to be had also.

On the bright side I've got a good idea for some "Britain first" shirts now, have the writing in Gaelic or Cornish, anything but English!
