Id say a few things have changed a bit for me.

My distrust in the medical establishment has grown by leaps and bounds.. and it was pretty high already.

My amazement at how many people get literally all their information from media like the news, twitter, etc. continues to grow. Even in the rare circumstances where an individual looks into something further, it doesnt really uproot any seeds already planted.

Authority worship seems to be more extreme than ever, with a strange form of amnesia and lack of self-awareness.

I guess its kinda the same as it has been for a while, just amped up with an induced myopism on a single virus.

Like pavlov training for people.

Stimulus - Response - Reward. This new model is far more economical in that it's been streamlined so the response is now it's own reward.

When I first heard about covid, I thought China was trying to hide and downplay the severity, now I think they deliberately made it appear much worse than it really is. At least with most everyone buying into the fearmongering, we won't have to guess what their endgame will be.

Yeah, maybe one of the saddest things to come out of this whole mess is seeing how so many people will not only just accept what some vague authority tells them but also how enthusiastic they are about shouting down and demonizing anyone with an opposing viewpoint. How quickly and vehemently they'll jump to defend and promote obvious nonsense if you put a little fear into them.

You think rounding up people to burn or lynch is something those ignorant people of the past did, but it turns out that there are plenty of your neighbors primed and ready to do the same thing given just enough of a push in that direction.

Both enlightening and sad at the same time, and it makes me very hesitant to state any kind of controversial opinion without anonymity because of the mindless vitriol people will direct at me.

And what about next time? Rounding up the "infected" and burning them out? The homeless could go first, but then it could be anyone who won't conform. Anyone.

A bit.. But also a bit more nuanced, imo.

There is also a Punishment mechanism, and that "reward" is a literal addiction to extreme emotional states.

This mechanism is essentially the "addicts reward." Meaning.. Not a reward at all, particularly with a total lack of awareness to the addiction.

It truly is sad..

People who have known me most, or all, of my life have let these Authorities dictate to them what I must be thinking when saying anything outside the Narrative.

For better or worse, my mind works differently than most. The amount of times I get interrupted halfway through my first sentence with "Oooh, so you [insert Narrative here]?!" is frustrating and sad. And its been getting worse for years.

Oddly, I noticed talking to people in masks is disturbingly similar to talking with people online...

That said, Ive personally had to eat some crow on some topics.. Particularly "vitamins & minerals." The more I learn, research, and apply it to my life.. The better Im doing. I think it saved my life.

Yes, more than once and I even had it myself along with all of my neighbors in a small mountain town in February. Initially, I was skeptical of it all but I still allowed for the idea that it could be like the Spanish flu. Now the narrative is changing that there were cases in Europe and North America months before the first case in China. We are finding out that 78% who got it were asymptomatic and that only elderly people or those with compromised immune systems perished (which apparently advances the depopulation agenda and the green new deal). Given the earlier dates for onset and the vast numbers of asymptomatic cases, the numbers are starting to look more like a regular to heavy year for influenza. I've learned that coronaviruses were identified in the 30's and that they have been trying to develop a vaccine since the 60's with at least 7 variants in circulation every single year and they have never been successful nor do they think they ever will be despite many billions spent worldwide. I learned that Obama stopped funding research into a coronavirus from horseshoe bats in 2014 and that Dr. Fauci along with Bill Gates Foundation $ was used to move the research all to the lab in Wuhan in 2015 and that both Fauci and Gates have a financial incentive to profit from the drug Remdesivir which is manufactured in China. I now know that the practice of automatically intubating people when the patient's lack of oxygen was instead due to the virus causing red blood cells to not carry enough oxygen actually killed many more millions than should have died. I've watched both sides of the political spectrum use the 'crisis' in fairly disgusting ways. I also learned that the mental health toll along with a huge spike in suicides coinciding with a 300% increase in divorce and domestic violence as well as the countless people who have died from preventable reasons not related to covid-19 that are mostly due to not getting normal care because... the virus has really begun to upset me. There is more... so much more that I have learned and am continuing to learn everyday so I am making some substancial changes in my life that will likely shock my friends and family. I am not overly fond of Trump but I am completely disgusted with most on the left. I've decided to become a citizen of a different country and abandon my citizenship... among other things... so yeah, my mind is still changing...

Like a cult.

Must be part of the group and follow and obey. The demonisation of individuals reinforces the need to remain part of the group for fear of exclusion.

Oh yes, most definitely cult-like.

I used to call it the "Woke Cult," but I think that was derived from bitterness on my part after all of my ideals were hijacked in society at large.

The very unique thing about this, the extent of which I only realized in this current situation, is that it isnt a social group that is actually defined by any specific beliefs. Its defined by behavioral reaction. Which means it can be directed in any way desired.

The behavioral stimuli seeds are also designed to manipulate both the "acceptable" response and the "unacceptable" response. Thats important, since those that question things *must* do so in a way that plays into the Narrative and reinforces it.

Its clever as hell. But, even from the "elites" perspective, might be one of the most egregious misuses of resources the world has ever seen.

I think Wetiko has infected us all.

Many reason I think...

1. Cashless society to eliminate financial freedom.
2. Full dependance on digital technology for tracking and data.
3. Dehumanisation from isolation.
4. Depopulation from unnecessary death and social contact.
5. Dependance on TPTB.
6. Possible compulsory vaccination.
7. Fear of strangers.
8. Destruction of creativity.
9. Seperation of families.
10. Removal of group thinking and connection.
11. Social distancing for easy tracking.
12. Mass propoganda for further social division.
13. Limited travel.
14. Elimination of small businesses and events.
15. Limited opportunity for the young.
16. No opportunity for the old.
17. Dependance on "government recommended" services.
18. Fear of hospitals.
19. Control.
20. Control.
21. Control.

The Powers That Be are and have always been SCARED of an individual's FREEDOM to be more than a person with a thinking mind of their own and resources to be stolen.

I will push back as hard as I can wherever I can and inform others up to the point where I realise they are happy to be a sheep. They can then get stuffed and I'll let them know as brutally as possible. No mercy.

I WILL NOT CONFORM as I was born and am an ANALOGICAL being and will die that way when it is MY time.

Lockdown here in France starts lifting TOMORROW. The days that follow will be interesting, especially the hype and propoganda surrounding new casualties to coronavirus.

This year is going to be the loudest "Fete De La Music" in my garden ever...rain, shine or lockdown. You cannot stop a rolling ROCK!

Unfortunately, the internet itself feeds the outrage mentality through social media and other forms of peer-to-peer "sharing." The mob joins in and signals their allegiance to their chosen tribe through performative memes and empty posturing. Algorithms track the hate-fest and sort participants into advertising silos designed to generate wealth for the in-groups who control the data.

Bias is built into each campaign creating a feedback loop designed to reinforce in-and-out-group bonds. The more performative the outrage, the more likes and shares. This generates social currency for the performer while enforcing strict group-norms.

The process becomes automatic and continuous for anyone who gets sucked in. Bad faith actors, marketers and media constructs stir the pot and everyone boils on command. Like any other addiction, the daily "minute of hate" offers diminishing returns to everyone except the pusher.

I prefer Woko-Haram.

It's definitely a personality type rather than a situational reaction. These same group of people will latch onto the next available source after the cv19 has gone.

As for the globalists, they've trained a hive society where the individual is perceived as a threat to the group. Self policing with no procedural oversight.

Maybe something to do with a new era of one line texting and reading. (easier for the data collection algorithms perhaps).

Anything more than a sentance often leaves people's minds behind.

I love a good conversation but they are things of the past without those who can LISTEN long enough to get enough information and practice Thought Processes instead of just thoughts and reactions.

Idiocracy my friend, idiocracy.

For the last six weeks, on the two week mark, I have been asking whether or not ATS has changed its mind about the covid-19 pandemic. I originally asked what it would take to convince people to change their minds[1] about the outbreak and then later moved on to ask whether or not any of you had[2,3]. So far, it has been interesting: little to no one has changed their mind.

When I originally asked, with revised numbers, there were 2,754 deaths in the US from covid-19. The first patient was officially recognized in the US on January 19th, 2020[4]. However, there have been some recent evidence the virus was here even sooner. It has not been put through peer review yet: so the evidence is merely been claimed, but not yet examined by other specialists. In science and medicine, this is VERY important.

The recent kerfluffle over hydroxychloroquine is a really good example of this. Hydroxychloroquine was touted as a cure for the covid-19 virus on many, many levels and by people who are not doctors by and large. There were some claims made that were anecdotal, but no solid science behind them. The drug is used for dealing with parasites like malaria and as an immuno suppressant for conditions like lupus. There was no trace of this as a use for a coronavirus until someone in France claimed it worked and we were off to the races. Finally, real studies have been done. The New England Journal of Medicine - the preeminent medical journal in the world, folks, is American - found no effect for 1,300 patients when given hydroxychloroquine compared to those who were not[5]. Don't trust the talking heads, folks: they often have their own agenda, even if its just 'make the other side of the fence look bad.'

As of today, over 80,000 people have officially died of the coronavirus[6]. This is based on the data for the different states, rather than from the Feds. The CDC data takes longer to collate and vet before release. They're just being cautious. it's not like there are any politics involved in this, right? If we follow from the first case being January 19th (again, it might have been sooner, we're waiting to see the data, not anecdotes), then we have had a covid-19 'season' of 111 days. This gives us a mortality rate of over 720 per day. Since I have been asking, the average deaths per day have been over 1800. In contrast, the flu - which folks like to compare covid-19 to - killed an estimated 62,000 this year on the high end[7]. The flu season ran from October 1st to April 4th, lasting 187 days. This gives an average rate of death of 337 for that time frame. A normal, but had flu season kills an average of 73,000 and lasts about 220 days. Covid has run for half that and killed more.

There are some anomalies with the data though. In NYC, death rates were far above the norm in March/April and most were not attributed to covid[8]. The US deaths in February were FAR above normal or at least the expected[9]. Additionally, most of the country has been in a quarantine and testing hasn't been done for most people. it is hard to tell if the virus has swept through people harming few or if it has yet to reach the populace: the antibody tests are being called into question for their accuracy[10].

The last anomaly stands out by itself. There's a strange twist each state seems to declare people cured or not differently. NY, which has been hit far harder than anywhere else, has had around 27,000 died and 56,000 recovered of their cases. OTOH, Texas claims it has had roughly 38k cases, has around 1k dead and 24k recovered. NYC says they have 260k active cases and Texas claims they have 13k. This seems odd. Are we seeing different definitions of 'cleared?' Or is it a regional difference? Or what?

Additionally, the total active cases is the US is over 1 million. The percent that recover (instead of die) has bounced between 70% and 80% for official cases. If that holds true, then we could see as much as 300,000 more die. That doesn't count anymore people who get added to the case count. I seriously and sincerely hope not. With the reopening of the states looking more and more likely, it remains to be seen how many more cases there will be. One would hope we are through the worst, already, but... with as fscked up as 2020 has been so far, I'm not holding my breath.

At any rate, with all of the above, with all of it said, have you, ATSer, changed your mind about the covid-19 pandemic? Is there any chance you will change your mind? What would it take to do so?

In 10 days time, the US is on track to have 100,000 dead due to the virus. The rate of new infections is still nearly linear although the mean number of daily new cases is reducing slightly. At the same time, the US case-fatality ratio has risen to 6%.

Your problem is you are too rigid in your thinking.

Too answer your question I have changed my mind, as should anybody who has been paying attention to the data.

I am now far less worried about it, and now know the only way out is herd immunity.

Yeah some people are going to die - that is unavoidable, but staying locked down is unquestionably the worst thing we can continue to do. A depression will clearly kill far more than this virus will.

I don't think it's a psyop, just a large overreaction made because governments did not know what they were dealing with.

Now that they know, they are trying to take advantage of the power the crisis gave to them.

This is exactly what I and a lot of people I talk with now know. I understand we had to be careful and see where it was heading early on, and to isolate to "flatten the curve" now that is beginning to happen, though in some states the government wants to ramp up other measures like tracing and tracking and more isolation. Things that will just prolong the situation, Hong Kong open for business, China open for business.

It will go away but we have to reach herd immunity and you can't do that isolated. There will be no 100 percent effective vaccine anytime soon, and there would be an uproar if it was mandatory like so many officials want it to be. This is just the reality, we were told it would be much more deadly even in lockdown one reason you see them label every respiratory death COVID related in some hospitals and states for that matter.
