I understand that the posting requirement is to possibly prevent spam, and I find it incredibly inconvienent and refreshing. Can you please list some ways that it has been productive and helpful? Please don't misconstrue what I am saying, I firmly agree with the policy though I kind of find myself posting in irrelevant forums when I would rather browse as I see incredible missed opportunities passing me by.

I would say
less spam
less hoaxes
most of all I think it lets a new member orientate them self to the workings of ATS
more time for staff to deal with other things,

There is no rush really, just browsing the forums gives a new member the ability to gain there 20 posts.



Just reply to the topics that interest you most or that you plan your first thread around.

I forgot to mention as a new member you are only allowed to post in certain forums, mostly about meet and greet. I don't know if that is intended or maybe you are not familiar with it. Either way, thankyou for the informative and quick reply! That type of posting ethic and behavior alone makes me appreciate my joining the conversation much more.

(Unless something has changed) New Members can post in any forum or to any thread they wish and once 20 posts are reached, they can create threads in any forum they wish.

I just joined to post but it wont let new members do so. If someone see this reply and can post, please do so.

Hello all!
After being a frequent reader of this site for quite some time, I decided it was time to make an account. I'd like to say right off the bat that I absolutely love this website and everything that it stands for, thank you so much for existing. I also understand you run a pretty tight ship here, and I hope I'm not doing anything incorrect as I'm a bit intimidated by all the different rules and threads and what not.

I have been documenting multiple, very strange lights, for the past couple weeks and really look forward to sharing what I've been seeing. Now, my question for whoever is answering these; If I have video I took that I wish to share, am I going to need to create a youtube account to host it there, to then embed, or link to here? OR, is there a way to share it right from my desktop?

I seem to be noticing a trend when I respond to someones post. About 70% have mysteriously stopped getting anymore responses to the thread?

You can up load your movies to your ATS Media account,

I just cant seem to be able to post photos in my posts, its driving me positively insane. Does anyone have advice as to how to actually have a photo in my thread????

Now that I have started posting more instead of reading silently and racked up a few little stats one thing has bugged me what does the "k" stat (currently a 7 in my case) under my avatar represent? Thanks for the help I've been beating my brains out trying to figure what it could be and could not find the answer with the search feature.

Another thing is I was wondering if there is a reason I can only see my Avatar when I go into my profile and I can't see it next to my posts? Does it just not show your own Avatar to you on posts or was my avatar removed for being too large or something of the sorts.

Ive been trying to post a few well wishes to friends here in their profiles but I cant seem to find out how with the new look site.... Its probably something very obvious but I just cant see it!! Please Help Me!! and lets blame the series of hangovers from the silly season or a blonde moment if i have missed the Obvious button... it used to just let you type in the boxy thing and post????

Just go to their profile and scroll down past all the comments that are already there. There should be a field that says "add your comments" below the extant comments.

In the post area there are hyperlinks above (headline/bold/italic/etc.). Click the one that says "Vid: youtube" and then enter the youtube video ID (everything past the = mark in the youtube shortcut)

Yup definately a combo of blondeness and hangovers... it used to be on the top...scrolll never came to mind...!!
