CBS reporting this...

Chinese officials have agreed to let American experts into the country as part of a World Health Organization team in the coming days, and senior members of the Communist Party have admitted "shortcomings and deficiencies" in the country's response. President Xi Jinping declared "a people's war of prevention" against the epidemic Tuesday, threatening punishment for anyone deemed to be neglecting their duties as control efforts ramped up.

(emphasis added)

With the internal market injections from the Chinese government to the closing casinos in Macau ( which is similar to closing Las Vegas two fold) seems this is out of hand now.

Big step there.
Talk about losing face.
Admitting shortcomings and asking the US for help!

But if only 2% die the world population will go from 7,630,000 to 7,000,000. So does that really warrant all the panic if they have drugs to fix this?

Would it warrant the panic for you if you were one of the infected or your family members are one of the hundreds of millions that would die? It seems that everyone doesn't think to interject themselves in such scenarios, like it can't happen to you, or them.

I am leaving work early today because my 5 year old is sick and his school has a problem with influenza A and B, strep throat , and pink eye.

A pretty good friend of mine died at 40 years old last year from the flu. How can that happen to a healthy individual?

To be honest I am starting not to feel very well at the moment.

Panic, not yet, but I'm pretty damned concerned.

Think there were rumours of people being cured early on, and that doctors said there was no guarantee that they would be immune from getting it again,
No sure on the source but here

www.google.co.uk...

If this operates like the standard corona viruses that are already circulating in the human population, then it will becomes a seasonal bug like the other colds and flus we deal with. However, it should become a variant that is less deadly because our immune systems will have an idea of how to deal with it next time. This time, they're pulling out all the stops and sort of clueless and as much a danger as the disease in their own way.

So, yeah, there is no guarantee we won't be seeing this one various forms forever now that it's out, but that's not a real big concern anymore than any other seasonal respiratory infection.

Correct.
Thank you again!

Sounds worse than panic.

Yep, saying it only kills 2 or 3 out of every 100 doesn't feel very good when it's your family who is really ill. And if it's you, then that note is always in the back of your head.

With the standard seasonal stuff, yes, you can die from the flu, but no one thinks about it as a serious concern unless you're dealing with the very old (grandma/grandpa, aged parents) or very young (small children, very small). Sure it can take the young and healthy, but happens so rarely that no one seriously gives it a second thought ... until lightning strikes.

These things are different because they can strike all across the spectrum. It's a possibility for anyone of any age to win that lottery in the wrong way.

I was replying to the post made by that individual in which he/she made the numbers, which he/she missed a few zeros in the world population.

They assumed if 2 percent died. 2 percent of 7 billion is approximately 140,000,000.

You seem to be jumping on people pretty good here in this thread.

People are just being cautious.

A pandemic is a situation that could very likely affect the world population. Experts from all around the world have said so for years,l/decades. For people such as yourself to so quickly start ridiculing and hammering people for being concerned when such a situation could very simply happen at the moment seems a little disingenuous.

Maybe it may do you some good to go read a happy story or something.

So you are assuming that every human on earth is going to become infected with the virus? That's pretty optimistic, LOL

That's the biggest head-scratcher. The differences between what we're seeing in China as compared to the rest of the world. It's really confusing.

Not of this is by design - the CCP could be using this to cull the major dissenters in their ranks fueling the HK and Taiwan rebellions currently underway.

Losing face and allowing the US working with WHO to gather data above and beyond a request for help (which was previously offered and refused).

No doubt the US will be of help, I took the report (there are a few more now) as a plea.

The ship is listing...

Tbh those are not the only groups with fear of flu, personally I’ve had pneumonia about 5 times in 4 years and ended up being given pneumococcal vaccine (normally for elderly patients at risk!, I’m nowhere near 45 and at risk of complications of flu as are many others, it’s gonna suck getting this one that’s for sure 😩🤦🏽‍♂️

The test results done with the test kit for the virus received at Tenerife are back, out of the 5 quarantined German tourists in La Gomera, only ONE keeps on testing positive.

The other four are still clean of the virus going by every single test done so far, they are going to be quarantined in their hotel room alongside the 6th potential suspect that has been there since January 29th. They will be there for 8 days (to have the total quarantine time be 14 days, putting together the time at the hospital and the hotel).

The one that tested positive is going to remain in the hospital until the 11th at least.

I don't know about you, but this is a head-scratcher... he didn't infect ANY of the 4 friends he was traveling and sharing a room with.

The tests have been carried out by both Madrid and now Tenerife, with the newer test kit, so they are accurate, and they've always shown this one individual to be the only one infected.

That is also possible. How widespread is their social credit system and how long has it been gathering information on people?

Speaking as someone who has extremely mild asthma, I know those aren't the only groups, but they're the major ones you think about.

I tend to get vaccinated on years where I've had a major bronchial issue just to be safe. This year I had one because I knew I was having shoulder surgery and didn't want to have a major cough while I was into the worst of recovery. Cough + shoulder pain = pure misery.

Of course I'm going to jump on ppl for losing their minds.

I expect much higher standards from ATS and so I'll push if I think a reminder is in order.

A lot of false info has been peddled about this and I'd like to see ppl questioning it more directly.
