Well, I tried sending some Spicy Parsnip Soup to WIS and nightstar, but the ATS pm envelope didn't look big enough so I tried to put it in an email instead. The email envelope just got all soggy and fell to bits before I could press "send.

A "jiffy bag" (bubble-padded mail envelope) and snail mail might work... but the soup might be cold and "a bit whiffy" by the time it reaches you... It looks like I might have to just describe it vividly to you whilst rubbing my ample tummy and going "nom nom nom"?

Vivid Description:
Hot, Sweet, Spicy, Creamy, Warming and very Tasty. (... and so is the soup!)

G

PS - Anyone who doesn't like parsnip hasn't had it prepared properly! It is delicious and nutritious!

PPS - Does anyone know how to get parsnip soup out of a PC's circuits and keyboard??

Hi Raine,

sorry to see so many on sick call. Hope you all are feeling better soon. Meanwhile, do you allow cats in your sick bay? The young tom who has adopted us dropped by last night and he's settled in comfortably here. And he's not sick, just keeping me company. Visiting hours for cats = whenever they want.

As for me, feeling a little better than yesterday. It snowed during the night soI had to put on my snow boots to walk down to our village shop this morning. But it was good to be able to walk cca 100 metres/yards without crutches, even through a few inches of snow.

Today I'm just alternating between standing a while and then lying down and napping for an hour or so at a time. Meanwhile I've got a load of washing started. I'm so grateful for modern technology and fully automatic washing machines!

Oh, Raine...

Thank you so, so much for posting that. Such a beautiful message, and such a simple, but true and timely one. And it's a message that will mean just as much to people a thousand years from now as it does today.

Well worth the four minutes or so for anyone to watch.

You got it, cats, dogs cuddle bunnies. we got people reading fairy tales for us, showing movies and cooking up a storm.
So sweet that your stray came to visit. It sounds like it adopted you?

So you are walking on water aye, I mean snow. To me it is water, a little miracle. Just days ago you were in such pain and worried sick and now look at you. This makes me happy.

Funny how we take that for granted. I remember Mom heating water in a giant "cauldron" that was in-cased by a brick wall and using a wash board. It was a big day for her when she got a little "washer" that she "only" had to put hot water in. We were rather poor, but happy.

You have a wonderful day Mike, WIS

Glad you enjoyed the video I posted. I am happy to hear that you are able to walk around and get laundry done. Wonderful!
How sweet to have a kitty adopt you. I have had so many rescues through the years. So yes of course animals can visit us in the sick bay like Wis said. We love, love, love our precious pets.

Hugs and love to you and Dada!

Hope you are starting to feel a bit better Wis! I have an appointment on Tuesday with one of my specialists and hope I make it.

Nothing exciting to share, just relaxing with Kya the cat sitting in front of the keyboard. I guess it's better than sitting on the keyboard. LOL

I'm good. Stomach feels a little off, but I think I ate too many chicken wings last night

You have to get better, you are the hostess the mostess.
a reply to: Night Star

Nope, no better, actually worse. Making onion soup and a ginger garlic concoction. I smell like an Arab/ French market.
Where is our chicken soup, and honey toast sammies? Or a grand big swig of Whiskey? Darn give me the whole bottle.

I will try, because it is December first to post something for the season on and off.
Christmas decoration contest?

OH I really liked your video. Very pertinent.

No need to waste a post, so don't grumble.

I think this little fellow is showing the way to a grand feast.

Feeling worse? Oh no, that's not good at all!

I'm up for a while, but will have to lay down and rest eventually.

Gordi tried sending our soup but...think we'd better have the pixies make us some.
Glad you liked the video. Found it on facebook and just had to share.

Having my second cup of coffee. I had a t.v, dinner for lunch. I also had bread dipped into olive oil with garlic, thyme and red pepper flakes.
My nose is stuffy. Might have my honey with herbs. I paid enough for the bottle, but it lasts. The honey is made from our local bees. It has menthol, lemon and blue agave, Tastes wonderful!

You know you are supposed to spit out the bones?
Sorry that is as far as my capacity for joking goes at the moment.

Brent, the pixies can whip up your French onion soup.

Wis, love the pics! I was feeling too icky and lazy to put anything else in the double post. LOL

Beautiful opening segue there Night, whodathunk it would at 22! Since it is winter here, I did say I would show up more often and here I am. I thought I had given up ATS for a bit there, but the Shed kept drawing me back, and I ended up lurking, feeling somewhat bad that I had left y'all. It's a nice escape from all the news and BS politics. Those threads are just depressing, and I like a feel good story! And that is what the Shed is, through both good times and bad. The denizens here pretty good folk from what I can see for the most part.

Nice big ass winter storm heading my way, so my adventure in life will be continuing. Maybe I'll finally get to use my snow thrower for the first time this year. I actually do enjoy looking like an Abominable Snowman after all is said and done.

See y'all in the funny pages
