When Words Become Violence

This has to be the most sophomoric mental gymnastic thread I've come across in a long time.

You know who else enjoys this line of thinking? Kids. Kids who think they're "smart" because they've figured out that words by themselves don't mean anything unless they have context/intent behind them.

I can remember every kid I've known defending their use of swear words by saying, "But they're just words! If I don't mean for it to be bad, then it's not bad! Words are just mouth sounds! It's only bad if someone interprets it as bad and lets themselves get upset!"

So, pat yourselves on the back people. You've all essentially discovered the same juvenile argument that kids across the world have engaged in since time immemorial with their parents.
