When something 50 years old remains classified, isn't usually to avoid embarrassment of some kind?

UFO files are different. They stay hyper top-secret forever...

Its more about when you have 50 years for a pack of files to be released ,there not a single second to waste , its time to take care of business.i guess those 300 files dont contain anything of value, its a decoy, when people gonna ask for them and be insistant ,they will be released .its the final and definitive defense. Im sure they will release them ,having nothing of value and we wont have a choice of believing ,its like a chess game . You dont have a single turn before checkmate.

How much notice do these people need? They've had decades to bleach and black out the 'sensitive' details. Half a dozen investigations have already tooth-combed the files.

# or get off the pot already...

My guess would be people who were involved in the assassination are still alive - like George H. W. Bush.

On a different note CNN has been going through what has been released and found a memo from J. E. Hoover (head of the FBI). Apparently the FBI were notified the day before Oswald was assassinated that a committee had been formed with the goal of killing Oswald. Supposedly the info was given to the local law enforcement but apparently did no good since Oswald was assassinated the following day.

I really want to know who provided the "anonymous tip" to law enforcement that Oswald was the suspect. Does anyone else find it weird that several car loads of cops and a prosecuting attorney would respond to a movie theater over a man not buying a ticket? At that time he was not identified as the assassin and with regards to the shooting of the Dallas officer Oswald was not identified.

Here's a pretty good and seemingly fair and balanced report from CNN..? on how Trump dealt with and is dealing with this

Trump 'unhappy' with government redactions to JFK files

Washington (CNN)

President Donald Trump wanted more of the documents related to President John F. Kennedy's assassination released. But when the final requests from government agencies hit his desk on Thursday, there wasn't enough time to go through the hundreds of records the agencies wanted to keep secret, two US officials said.

Trump releases some, but not all, JFK assassination records

As the deadline ticked away, Trump was confronted with a choice: release all of the 3,100 records without any redactions, or accept the redactions of intelligence and law enforcement agencies and release 2,800 of those documents.

Trump agreed to the second option, while also requiring agencies to conduct a secondary review of the information they believed should be redacted within 180 days. But Trump was still miffed by his decision.

"He was unhappy with the level of redactions," a White House official said, adding that Trump believed the agencies were "not meeting the spirit of the law."

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement Thursday night that Trump "has demanded unprecedented transparency from the agencies and directed them to minimize redactions without delay."

Trump's final decision came at the end of a months-long review of the remaining 3,100 classified records relating to the Kennedy assassination, during which tensions flared between intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and the National Archives and Records Administration over what information should be withheld from the public.

But the fight rose to the Oval Office on Thursday as several national security agencies made last-minute appeals to the President to accept their redactions and, in some cases, withhold all documents related to their agency, a White House official said.

The requests -- at the 11th hour of a 25-year deadline -- resulted in what a senior US official described as a "messy" process leading up to the deadline, with the White House still fielding requests from certain agencies into the middle of the day on Thursday.

That left Trump's aides scrambling to funnel all of the information to the President, who had only hours to decide how to proceed.
While Trump agreed that the identities of confidential informants who are still alive, for example, should not be released, he believed more information should be made available to the public, officials said.

Now, the agencies whose documents remained secret in part on Thursday will have as much as five months to conduct a secondary review of the documents to make a final case to the US Archivist for why they believe they should remain secret.

Trump will then have a month to review the requests and by April 26, 2018, "will order the public disclosure of any information that the agencies cannot demonstrate meets the statutory standard for continued postponement of disclosure," according to a memorandum he released Thursday.
"Any agency that seeks to request further postponement beyond this temporary certification shall adhere to the findings of the act, which state, among other things, that 'only in the rarest cases is there any legitimate need for continued protection of such records,'" Trump writes. "Accordingly, each agency head should be extremely circumspect in recommending any further postponement of full disclosure of records."

Maybe that was the deal with the CIA, that they would make CNN run this story..?

Why does that ring so true, reading between the lines..?

There's that JBS (John Birch Society) again. Hum, maybe a separate thread should be made on their involvement in global events, and even more interesting, who was/is a member.

I think Roscoe White is a better candidate for killing Kennedy. he was a Dallas police officer and on the payroll of the CIA. Several years after the assassination a picture was located in his files of the backyard photo of Oswald with the gun. This photo was one that was never released.

The theory there is Roscoe White was actually the person in the photo with Oswald's face cropped on over whites. In one of the photos there is a bump on Oswalds wrist that Oswald did not have. Roscoe White did have the bump on his wrist though. It would also go along with the gunmen on the grassy knoll and the Mooreman picture that shows "badgeman". The theory is badgeman was Rosco White.

For those interested there is a series called "The men who killed Kennedy". It is like an 9 part series (you can find it on youtube) that looks at the different theories - from the Soviets to the mob to the CIA to Lyndon Johnson to all of them. it is old but pretty good imo.

Here is a direct link to the playlist -

Their being was to combat the hippies. Don't see many of them globally and for sure Kennedy wasn't one.

The moral is to NOT announce in advance when you're going to expose high-ranking people. As the Nike slogan says, "Just Do It".

Really? Didn't this group oppose the whole civil right movement? Not to mention having Papa Koch (who's sons are better known as the Koch Brothers) as a founding member. Sure they couldn't have been involved.

Looks like 25 minutes before the assassination an unknown male contacted a british journalist and told him to contact the US embassy regarding some big news. When news broke Kennedy was assassinated the journalist notified MI5 of the phone call. This would be the 2nd media outlet that had info in JFK's assassination.

The three most interesting new JFK assassination records

The point of having 'sealed documents' on this is obvious.

When they are finally 'released' to the public, we can all see that Oswald did it, after all!!

Who hides the bullet-ridden limo, takes it apart, piece by piece, wipes it clean, replaces parts needed, and rebuilds the whole limo again??

Even a moron could figure it out, but not one of you lot,

Absolutely No New Revelations on the Kennedy Assassination will be Forthcoming from Any Government Agencies Until All Persons Found to be Involved in the Assassination are No Longer Of this World . We will not see 90 Year Old Men going on Trial for their participation in it , that if fairly Evident by now to most People ..........
