I think another question would be how many rounds can you shoot before the barrel of the AR platform is no longer usable.

SNAP!

That's another point! Some might not know - but those babies heat up to amazing heights of temp... As they say to the point it can cause rounds to combust in the chamber. So, the 'multiple gun' makes sense - but still, well, before I go on it really does depend on what weapons he/they were using. Some can take the heat - and some just - can't.

the sound the M.16 is making in fully automatic mode tells me the weapon wasn't modified.

So then how did he get it, is the next question.

But not terrorism, even though Nevada law says it is:

NRS 202.4415  “Act of terrorism” defined.

1.  “Act of terrorism” means any act that involves the use or attempted use of sabotage, coercion or violence which is intended to:

(a) Cause great bodily harm or death to the general population;

Soooo anti-gun and 'we could have avoided' this.

If a gun was not in the equation, then yes.

Without pointing fingers at anyone specific, some of you watch too many movies.

That is not how firearms work.

Again: Forget the tool, focus on the act and the actor.

Converting semi to auto is playing russian roulette.

Civilian ars are not made to withstand the tolerances full autos are.

Neo, I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I am saying I am right in that, and remember this was 25+ years ago, it was quite simple (to modify) as simple as ordering the right parts AND HOW TO INFO through a magazine.

You’re both correct. 25 years ago the ban was really getting going and a lot of new civilian stock was just converted from old military stock so the tolerances were higher.. now in order to make conversion harder the lowers trigger assemblies are milled just a little differently for civilian and LE/ military applications...the cycling change is actually done in the lower on both the AR and AK platform.

Well, IF it was an AR, it would need to have a large cap magazine. If it was an AR then how many rounds were used vs how many a barrel can take would be a valid question.

Otherwise, if multiple weapons were used, that would make sense.

Furthermore, if it wasn't an AR that resets the whole debate. Somehow, the AR factor is the only thing that gives the gun debate legs.

I wonder if we were to look at stock interests of those folks, if any of it would contain dividends from such industries.

No thanks

Point I am trying to make is he supposedly bought several pounds of
ammonium nitrate, several pounds of explosive.

You can't buy that much hair dye without the Feds knowing.

That is a fact.

You also have to remember this murderer had psychiatric problems which would mean he couldn't have gotten any conversion kits legally. Not to mention the fact that a modified AR-15 shoots so fast in full auto that the magazines run out of rounds/ammo fast .

Proof the media are ignorant of anything but parroting what they hear.

There are many other 'guns' (ha ha) out there that put the AR to shame. Not that I'm saying that's good, just saying, they don't know what they're talking about. It's rhetoric.

Sure was.

Wasn't shooting at moving targets either.
