Oh I have family near Mt Davis.

It's my bugout location.

The Amish community out there is YUGE...

I do come out that way from time to time. Spent an entire summer out there 2 years ago building a hotel in Uniontown and Butler.

That's a message! They are only making 12$ an hour!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder everyone is so pee'd off in this country!

The USA is a huge country. $12hr for an entry level job around here and you are driving a Benz. Certified Welders with 12 years experience are starting at $12hr around here. I have no idea what Philly's cost of living is but if they don't like the job then go find another? Oh, what's that? No other job starts more than $12 for entry? They need to check themselves. This is why jobs are going over seas. people getting to damn greedy.

The dems are for unions why would they strike then?

Because they have leverage to get what they want. They're wise to not let this opportunity slip by.

No one drives a Benz off 12 an hour in the US.

12 an hour in Philly probably wouldnt even get you a studio apartment.

Probably renting a room in a bad neighborhood.

They are organizing and demanding hire wages and I support their effort.

They shipped the rest of our good jobs overseas.

Where I'm from 12 an hour is pretty fair.

Working for Megacorp, in a union? That ain't enough to live on.

I should clarify. Fair as a starting wage. I started at $10 two years ago.

Oh cut the crap. Yes, yes they are. Our front office secretary makes $11. She has a Mercedes and is a single mother. Let's break this down. There is 2080hrs in a work year. 2080 x 12 = $24,000 a year. Taxes and deductibles is about 20%. So that is $19,200 take home assuming you put 0 on your W2. Then you will get about $1000 back for taxes (unless you have a kid then you will get back $3000). So $21,000 divided by 12 is $1,766 a month.... A one bedroom apartment in my area is $550 a month for a decent one. A Benz payment is $300 and insurance is $100. We are up to $900. $900 - $1,766 is $866 a month you have to pay other bills and to live off of. Yes, these are the numbers I had to crunch my entire life and I am doing well making $20hr right now. 60% of my check goes right into saving.

Dude I lived of $9.75hr with rent at $550 a month and $450 in child support when one of my welding jobs went out of business. I managed just fine. People need to learn money management. You don't go out to eat every night, you don't go to the movies 2-3 times a night, you don't buy new clothes every week, you don't upgrade your phone every month, you don't go on vacation twice a year, etc. etc. etc.... Why do people think a "living wage" is a tropical beach house in the Bahamas?

These are people taking a bag off a cart and put it on a escalator into a plane.... $12hr? That's an insult to burger flippers.

This would be a fantastic time for Mr. Trump to reach that hand of help across the aisle and maybe loan them ALL the Romanians that work at His South Fl. hotel??

But what will usually happen is other folks will be brought in on 'the big clock' and the taxpayer will get the privilege of ponying up..

$866 a month you have to pay other bills and to live off of.

Gas.
Car Insurance.
Internet.
Life insurance.
Phone bill.
Utilities.
...................
And then we have food.
Honestly, have you seen grocery prices or do you just not eat? I can go to the grocery and spend $100 on 4 small bags. And no, I don't buy all the name brands and junk food. I know, I know I'm a bad planner....or you're just wrong.

No worries! For those who at least can get to my great state of PA our lawmakers were gracious enough to override our law to allow all the elite drinkers to drink past our usual last call of 2AM!

Shows you where our politicians priorities are when they temporarily change the laws to allow the politically elite to celebrate with booze past the allotted lawful time for their own citizens?

Did they also temporarily legalize prostitution and lower the age of consent by about a decade for their little party?

Wouldn't surprise me one bit. All that would be left is for them to be carried in on a 3000 pound gold thrown by a hundred servants.
