When they refuse to name Islamic Terrorism for what it is and converse on it and then hasten to reassure us that Islam is not the problem, that creates a problem.

Islam is NOT the problem. The religion is no more problematic than any other religion. Individuals and terrorist organizations are the problem. Islam is a real religion, JUST like Christianity. The vast majority of its followers are peaceful and God-loving.

Be careful not to paint the whole religion with the terrorist brush.

What should we call it? That Religion-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named?

If you're talking about terrorism, call it terrorism. If you're talking about religion, call it by name.

Back on April 6th a Muslim speaker at a Florida mosque was calling for death to gays. But the shooter was a lone wolf, right?

Just a point: Christian preachers in the US have called for the death of gays too.

Knowing that most of their demographic won't engage.

When a Hadither does it you can guaruntee some nutjob will act.

Apples & Oranges.

Because I (wrongfully) interjected a political point in a thread that has nothing to do with politics. And the mod & I have already exchanged a meaningful dialogue about it via PM.

50 people are dead. So let's respect them and save our outrage for another thread...

What is with all the shootings guys ?

www.dailyfreeman.com... [AP story]
www.cp24.com...
www.rollingstone.com...
www.ibtimes.co.in...
heavy.com... [gun man named]

Retarded gun laws and big kids who don't want to give up their manly extensions.

That's what's behind all these shootings. The world and the USA is numb to them At this point. You read about one,say how awful, hear it mentioned on the news a few times and then forget about it till next week. WHen the whole sordid cycle starts again.

No amount if dead kids, teens, middle aged and old folk will stop people buying guns. Too selfish a nation.

Apparently law enforcement prevents a lot of people heading places to do things but no one notices until something else happens. Then it's all connected.

Just now on ABC news: someone who lived near the suspect thought something strange was happening in the garage where they had built bombs, but felt pressured to be politically correct and did not say anything about it.

Thank you pc people. Heaven forbid we hurt their feelings...

Christianity and Christians have been mentioned in this thread nearly the same amount as Islam and Muslims. Let the capitulation begin.

You're implying that all gun owners are driving with their gun in their vehicle. That is extreme paranoid living. The argument is purchasing guns as a hobby, hunting, or protecting your home. Lot's of gun owners pride themselves in how safe and secure they lock up their gun. There are parts of the country where people have their weapons in the car and that is fine...those parts of the country or no where near located by night clubs with a 400 person capacity. You can have your gun in your car all you want, but if you're driving towards Disney Land with a AR-15 in your car and other guns, you should be stopped and questioned.

what law would have stopped this unlawful act?

I am truly curious, because this guy obviously had other issues... so why do you think a law could have stopped this?

That sounds just like San Bernardino doesn't it?

The Office of Homeland Security is all "See Something; Say Something" ... but not if you think it might offend someone and get you thought of as a bigot ...

Except that line is repeated in every thread about every shooting. So where shall we express the outrage?

I think a bigger sign of respect to these poor people would be to express our disgust and outrage. To force the gun laws to be tightened instead if pussyfooting around trying not to offend gun owners. What a joke.

50 people....what a waste of life.

NO, it is not Apples & Oranges.

Most Muslims won't engage either.

But, some Christians have acted.
