So you want socialism, just different socialism from all other types of socialism.

Because this time, the US will make socialism better.

And you think that we as Americans would have to follow an almost a century old design of the russians?

Really?

Just a copy and paste of the failed system of the USSR, really?

I can see our congress will be passing this tomorrow at the latest.

Are you just another Dolt in the conversation!

Face it the US of A already embraces social programs. As for their cost, we are spending too much of the peoples tax money on war, military and prisons that add wealth to the rich the 1%, at the cost of the people the 99%!!!

Show me an example of either Sen Sanders or Dr Stein suggesting the government taking over all industry, not going to happen. Though they do suggest that Wall Street should be taxed, and making the rich pay more taxes in general.

No you are claiming that we can not change from the status quo, to say we are introducing a failed system, you imply that the system has already existed.

You are denying the fact that the US of A would not copy and paste a failed russian system of socialism. that is quite disingenuous of you and makes you look doltish.

Yup in the USA we will just kill off the upper class and go full commie, it ain't going to happen!

I'm just asking questions. How did I falsify sanders or steins campaign?????? I asked you if they have evolved from the Trotsky/Lenin platform of socialism. I've used the same teFm you guys are throwing around (democratic socialism) and is there a difference between that and the Soviet model? If you just take away the gilags what would be the difference? These are triune questions. Do you feel that if you just call me names everyone here will assume you are right? You must assume everyone here is stupid and that they are if they don't agree with your premise. Please answer questions without the alinsky tactics because people here are smart enough to see through it

There are many lists on the internet but here's a good one to start with. These are ten of the top socialist or countries with lots of social programs for it's citizens. You'll find that there are a few bad ones in here but over all the list is comprises of countries where the citizens are very, very well off and happy and fairly wealthy and highly educated with good jobs and good chances of wealth building. ANd in any top ten lists you can google or find, you'll always find Denmark, finland, netherlands, sweeden norway in there. All five are very good countries to live in. You may say the taxes are high but that doesn't tell the whole story.

China
Denmark
Finland
Netherlands
Canada
Sweden
Norway
Ireland
New Zealand
Belgium

Never has it been suggested that socialism in the USA would take over all business, industry nor control all jobs.

Raise taxes and make taxes for Wall Street and use more money for social projects, not kill off the bourgeoisie and take over every aspect of the economy.

IT IS NOT A FAILURE!!! Jesus Pleezus - do you never quit?

WHY are you lying? WHAT is your problem?

It is an economic system that blends capitalism and social cohesion. Your continued refusal to acknowledge that is reflecting very, very poorly on your intelligence, education, and thinking.
Kindly stop trying to portray Bernie as a communist. It is libelous trash, and you know it.

I think they do this on purpose, Dad. They just won't stop lying and trying to sensationalize things.

And we wonder why the US is so far behind in educational attainment? I know why. Because here's the 'conservatives':

Stephen did a great parody of them - but they don't understand that they are precisely like that...to the point of annoying everyone else.

Freaking "Agenda 21" and "communism" are so tired as ammo. Get with it, people. The NWO is here. Now we figure out what to do about it.

. So you're saying a little socialism not a lot but more than we already have.... Would you happen to be a member of the Fabian Society? We are already overburdened with too many social programs which is adding to the burden of increased debt. We will never be able to raise enough taxes to pay for it all. Constitutionally there is only one thing which is required and that is the common defense.

Social cohesion is just another definition for "loss of freedoms, higher taxes".

Nope. I'll call Comrade Sanders what he is. I still have the freedom to voice my opinion, and it is my opinion that socialism is communist-lite.

Same loss of freedoms, but half the calories.

Still have yet to define your version of 'democratic socialism'.

Why do you avoid answering such a simple question? You are so much more enlightened then everyone else, something this simple must take no time at all to accomplish. Why such an avoidance to the question?

As for socialism equating to social programs, is completely false, under socialism there is no welfare state, you either work or you are cast out of society; according to Marx.

It should also be noted, all the wonderful socialist countries listed, are not socialist because there still exist private enterprise within their borders. It should also be noted, the generous welfare programs these nations have, are only possible due to the massive expenditures the US pays to defend those same wonderful nations using NATO. If those nations had to actually defend themselves, and actually pay the amount of GDP they are supposed to contribute to NATO; well they wouldn't have those wonderful programs.

This is the third time I've asked for you to define for me your definition of 'democratic socialism'.

C'mon on now....Jill Stein and Bernie Sanders being compared to Lenin and Stalin ?! Lenin and Stalin were ruthless killers that imposed "Communism" on people unwillingly, people worked for the good of the STATE, not for personal gain or satisfaction. " Democratic Socialism " is something people have a voice in and is already embraced by most Americans.

Does anyone in this discussion believe we should eliminate Social Security or Medicare ? If not, isn't this an example of how America created a very successful socialist program that was working very well until the funds were raided by Wall Street ? "Democratic Socialism" is about HOW we spend our collective tax dollars and about the people not being over powered by an Oligarchy.... when did expecting to make a living wage if you work full time become un-American !

Yes, those programs are unsustainable, and are not a function of the government.

In fact, social security is due to be insolvent within a decade; and privatizing social security is gaining traction as a viable solution.

Bernie has a communist past from way back. Is communism different today than it was in the 70's or the 50's or the 20's?
