Ha, calling someone out on being deliberately insulting, isn't being deliberately insulting.

Depends on what the definition of "insulting" is.

Any examples you'd like to give us?

Is that similar to asking what the definition of 'is', is?

I understand, as some here don't, that it's FREE SPEECH

Free speech DOESN'T PROTECT YOU FROM ANYTHING BUT THE STATE!
Show me in the first where it says that you can say what ever you want and another person can't call you an asshole for saying it?

Lol, so what's the problem?

Ok I get what you are saying. You have no intent on changing current laws. You are saying you are sick of people saying rude hateful offensive speach KNOWING full well it is rude and hatefull but then use "freedom of speach" as an excuse.

Am I right?

You put that nicely.

Don't we usually agree?

Yes and I apologize if I was rude or offensive

No issues. You were fine.

You were speaking your mind, your opinion. But, were never rude or insulting.

Just like me (well maybe I was, just a little)

There are some in this thread that take offense to being called an asshole when they are racist, bigoted, xenophobic, etc.

You may call me retard at any time you like. Most of the time I am a retard.

I don't think so much of myself that I will deny it or be offended by it.

Ha! I'm poorly educated! I think that's better than a retard.

Wait a minute, isn't it bad to call someone a name if you feel they are beneath you?

I can't believe there are people that think they are better than me and insult me for it.

Clearly someone has something wrong, when they preach equality and then make sure you know you are not equal.

"Asshole" is basically calling somebody an unpleasant person.

"Racist" is calling them an unpleasant person who thinks their race is superior or hates others based on race alone.

I'd much rather be called the first, especially when there is no evidence that justifies being called the second.

There is a wide difference between intelligent and educated. I am nothing special, would hope that I have never made anyone feel lessor than I was.

I have been called the first many times, hopefully never the second. You and I have had an interesting discussion, and I hope that I have not inferred the second on you, as I have not seen you that way.

Yeah, my computer is steam powered.

Took me days to get here, bubbajoe.

I'm insulted that you called me late.

I am never late, I arrive exactly on time. Like a wizard!

So where them examples at?

You betcha!

Define it, if we are going to put people in jail for it.

Define it, to justify a similar response.

Then there is that annoying little thing called, proof.

Bummer. Sucks to be them.

Got proof they are all those things?

No proof means it's an assumption and we all know what that means.

Like I said, I am not required to appease your criteria for valid.

Rude, Obnoxious, Bigot - - - stand on their own. They self describe.

Actually, you kind of are required to do so, if you wish to be taken seriously.

"Rude, obnoxious and bigoted" cover a wide spectrum of potential views.

I don't know... if one was ever taught manners by a parent, I think you could use that as a guideline. I suppose there may be some here who weren't raised by parents who taught them manners.

We're all taught manners by different parents, and some of us have thicker skin than others. Some of us respect other people's rights to say what is on their mind and label themselves as idiots. I use them as an example to my son of how I don't want him to act.

'Going out with a fight', type of thing

That's exactly what it is, I see it with the people I work with every day (I work on the conservative side of my state). They are mad because they can't force their way on the rest of the world.

Of course a lot of areas are out of control with PC, you hear a lot crazy things going on over the last 20 years.

The way I see it it's based partly on legitimate concerns, but even more based on being immature asses. There are a lot of losers out there who will use any excuse to blame other people and groups for not being successful.

Sorry, I forgot about those steam powered computers, if that is the case you were right on time. One member defined his own bigotry with a dictionary definition, and the other two have been shown by the comments in this thread and other threads on this site. Donald Trump by his own comments is all three. I don't make assumptions easily, it takes a long period of observation to decide that someone is truly an asshole. At that point they are not assumptions, but observations and opinions.

Not picking on you for that at all.

And yes, big diff between educated and intelligent.

A little bit of learning is a dangerous thing.

But you have to admit that there are A LOT of "enlightened" people that think they are better and know better.
