My police source saying police have apprehended the driver who hit people on the strip-- working to get details on reports of shooting.

LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) - It is reported that a vehicle ran into a group of several pedestrians on the Las Vegas Strip.

The crash occurred in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino and Planet Hollywood with as many as 20 people hit, and listed as a mass casualty.

Las Vegas Metro currently has the Las Vegas Blvd closed between Harmon and Flamingo.

This is an ongoing story and will updated as more information comes in.

One of the Tweets said the woman ran them over, then tried to flee the scene. Maybe drunk driver?
None of them mention gun shots, so far.

ETA Just read one saying "shots fired inside". Maybe woman shot someone then ran over people trying to get away?

At first, I thought it must be a drunk driver. Saw one report that the woman driving had a child in the car. Horrible. Hope it's not as bad as first reports sound.

Just a guess, but I'd say she was probably drunk, belligerent and may have been taken down with a shoot or two.

Really hope there were no kids in the car.

Sounds like it, I heard someone on the scanner ask to check out the 3 year old in the car.

This is terrible! Reading CNN I would imagine the driver was drunk, high, or even extenuated. Usually casinos get gamblers with free alcohol. If this turns out to be the case I wonder if only the driver would be punished because the hit multiple people.

Then unconfirmed reports of shots being fired inside the Hotel where the Miss Universe pageant is being held is equally troubling - I'm actually hoping it's not true and maybe just a miscommunication.

Either way, my thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families of this incident(s)

It's funny that at the same time this is occurring, news is trending towards a blunder that happened at the Planet Hollywood pageant where this took place.

We need more laws on the books to make it harder for people to obtain these assault vehicles it's just getting out of hand.
