I am not saying this as a clown. I have been struck twice by vehicles. It hurt pretty bad. I nearly lost a foot.
You don't want to fall under one.
Jump and roll. You may bust a windshield with your ribs, but you won't get crushed into powder and ground meat so bad if you roll over the top.

Then unconfirmed reports of shots being fired inside the Hotel where the Miss Universe pageant is being held is equally troubling - I'm actually hoping it's not true and maybe just a miscommunication.

Either way, my thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families of this incident(s)

My GF watched that, said there was controversy/mix up at the end where Miss Colombia was given the title, but the award was then taken away because the announcer messed up his wording..

Related?

Did the feed just say that the Fox reporters are causing a problem?

Insane scene on the strip, was a breaking news alert on the local news so I went down to the strip because (yes I let paranoia get me) it happened in front of the Paris Hotel. Forgot my phone so no pics, but about a mile completely shut down, walking included. 3 confirmed fatalities I was told, and at least 33 people injured, more likely to come.

Seems like it was a drunk driving incident, I'm yet to hear anything about any shootings related. I'll post more if I hear more.

Condolences to those affected, horrible time for these things.

Is it me, or are 'mass casualties' much more common this year in the states?

1 confirmed casualty, 7 critical, possibly a child in critical condition. There may have been a passenger in the vehicle, no word on if that person is in custody or at large.

Local police briefing seemed to be stressing possible terrorism. I don't think that is the case personally, but so far details are sketchy. I will say this, there seemed to be every single metro officer on scene, and I saw several special unit vehicles on scene.

Wait! 20 casualties? Is that a typo? News is reporting 1 casualty (driver), 37 injured & 4 in critical.

That was the initial report, really bad journalism. Well, it did get me to rush down to the strip.

Yeah, that was initial report when it started.

Exactly. This is how the breaking news alert came over.

"Tragedy in front of the Paris Hotel, 20 casualties reported, more information to come".

I literally threw on some clothes and rushed down there (I'm 10 minutes away). I've never seen so many police on scene anywhere before like this.

The crash occurred in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino and Planet Hollywood with as many as 20 people hit, and listed as a mass casualty.

The media sure loves using loaded words don't they?

37 hit?

Sources say the driver was drunk.

So why they saying 'shooting' ?

Never mind.

Reading tweets and Twitter live feed--LVPD had a brief press conference. Information officer states "terrorism NOT ruled out." Though investigation will no doubt be ongoing, why even mention the "t" word at all? Many of the tweets (eye witness) stating vehicle at high speed, jumped curb, went off curb and kept plowing into pedestrians. My recollection of LV Strip traffic--congested and goes at a snails pace. How did driver have opportunity to speed?

Twitter tweeters are twits! Any how they have the female who caused this and will most likely test positive for either drugs or booze.
