Great news. Obviously, the USA could care less about the plight of the Palestinians.

And what has Russia ever done for them?

Nothing, but perhaps they will now. Even if it's just to be a thorn in Israel's side, a little Russian influence or aid could go a long way to bringing the Palestinians together and getting a state. I see possibilities for peace in the middle east with someone else besides USA in there causing chaos.

They certainly did not provide hi-tech advanced military technology and support to its enemies.

Did what they should have, gone through the UN to sanction Israel for its countless human rights abuses and try to garner international support to assist and aid these poor people. America on the other hand, would have just bombed the # out of Israel with or without UN approval, had it not been for their blind support of the Zionist agenda!

Exactly: someone has to bring the Palestinians together. Unfortunately, Mr. Putin's talents appear to lie in driving people apart. (East Ukraine, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, etc.)

israel should be the one unassing land.

they stole it and murdered for it.

go russia!

UN resolution 242. read it.

Are you justifying Israels actions based on it defending its security?

Not sure what you are alluding to, technically a child throwing a stone at a tank could be a violation of 242 but shooting the child is a far greater human rights breach. If Israel wants security it should stop stoking the fires by ending the mass genocide of Palestinians.

As far as the surrounding countries claiming their land is being occupied yes, Also Jews also called themselve palestinian at one time as well remember? They technically have rights to th eland. The "other palestinians" are part of trans jordan who will never reclaim them because they could not get along with the jordanian government.

Theres nto a mass genocide going on. thats collatorral damage. and youre falling for the propaganda.

Screw the Palestinians they do not deserve their own state. Do some research as to the true origins of the modern day Palestinians. Educate yourself. Give the Jews all their promised land from the Nile to Euphrates as long as they don't mess with us give it too them. Sooner the better. Bugger the Arabs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why don't you do some research on why the vast majority of Jews abandoned Jerusalem from the 630s AD until last 100 years. Here's a summary.

Between roughly 60AD & 136 AD, the Jews fought the Romans in 3 Jewish-Roman Wars. The 3rd Jewish-Roman War saw a false Jewish messiah lead a revolt to seize all of Judea & make it a Jewish only state. They started purging every group & building that wasn't Jewish, including massacring the Essenes & early Christian sects because they refused to fight. After the false Jewish messiah's rebellion failed, the Romans banned Judaism & similar creeds & renamed the region Syria Palaestina.

Then in the mid-300s AD, the Romans allowed the Jews to have more influence in Jerusalem. The Jews tried to rebuild the Temple, but according to their own sources, God wouldn't allow it. He kept making fireballs erupt from within the ground to force the workers to flee & He made earthquakes that kept destroying progress on the Temple. The Jews eventually gave up on the attempt.

In the late 400s & early 500s AD, the Jews allied with their usual rivals the Samaritans to fight the Romans. These attempts to retake Judea/Palaestina & Samaria failed & the Samaritans were crushed.

Then in the early 600s AD, the Jews allied with the Persian Sassanids against the Roman Byzantines. The Sassanids were Zoroastrians & were in a war against the Byzantines (Christians). The Jewish-Sassanid alliance defeated the Byzantines in Judea/Palaestina, and the Jews took Jerusalem. Then the Jews started massacring all Christians in Jerusalem, burned down the churches & monasteries, and tried to wipe out everything that was non-Jewish from Judea (sound familiar?). The Sassanid's were furious about the scale of the Jewish massacres & atrocities, so they kicked the Jews out of Jerusalem. Then the Byzantines retaliated, crushed them & retook Judea/Palaestina.

After that short lived Jewish-Sassanid State, the Jews literally gave up on Jerusalem for more than 1200 years. Some Jewish leadership even went so far as to label Berlin the "New Jerusalem" in the 1800s. And the vast majority of the world's Jews today are German/Ashkenazi Jews.

Today's Palestinians have been there the whole time. The Christian Palestinians in Bethlehem & Nazareth have literally been there since the Prophet Jesus. So why should the Palestinians be the ones to give up the land they've cultivated for at least 2,000 years to Europeans who've only been interested in their land for 100 years, when Zionism was created?

EDIT to add: Also, most Jews rejected Zionism when it was first created. In the early 1900s, far more Jews immigrated to the US than to Palestine. It wasn't until the peak of fascism & Nazism in Europe during the 1930s that large amounts of Jews started migrating to Palestine, and even then, they were a clear minority. The Nakba includes 250,000 Palestinians who were forced from Palestine before the Jews even declared independence.

Well ... that's your point-of-view.
Do you think Putin is likely to transpose that 'system' to the Palestinians as well ?

You make it sound like it is up to Putin? Who cares what Putin thinks?
Do you know what a two state solution is?
Next question...Does the Obama Administration support a two state solution? Did the Bush Administration? Does Netanyahu?
Maybe understand that first and then answer why anyone should care what Putin has to say?

Oh yes...Russia could certainly help Palestine, but first they would need to invade and occupy to bring "stability" and "security" to the Palestinians. After a few bombs eliminating the "troubling" elements then the Vodka soaked Russian ground troops will roll in their tanks and set up camp....Just here to help folks!

In reality Putin is just talking trash...he will never help Palestine even if he was capable of doing so..which he is not.

On a sidenote...the love for Vladimir Putin on ATS and appetite for his propaganda is really kind of stunning...still trying to figure out what that says about some people.

Putin is the dirty cop that arrives at the riot scene to do "crowd control" and then immediately kicks in the front door of the closest jewelry store. He is a sociopath and a criminal...some people love that about him...some people want to see him strung up in Red Square. All I know is that he has gleefully killed so many good men and women of conscience...reporters, businessmen and politicians. I'd like to imagine his end as two quite pops followed by him face down in a puddle out back of the Kremlin. Just my 2 cents.

The Best option for the palestenians getting a state has ALWAYS been kicking out HAMAS.

You would be amazed at how much easier and peaceful things would be if they were gone

And here's the irony with that. The most observant Jews like the Haredi/Ultra Orthodox Jews have always been against Zionism because it defies the prophecies which state the Jewish messiah is supposed to create the new Israel.

Then there are the Jews who stayed in the Middle East instead of going to Europe & Russia (called the Maghrebi Jews). They actually face discrimination right now from the German/Ashkenazi Jews in Israel! And the Ethiopian Jews are protesting & having rallies right now to protest the discrimination they face from the German/Ashkenazi Jews in Israel. It's a very surreal situation.

What gets me is one thing....

Everyone is praising Putin as some sort of Hero, some sort of great man that has come along to do good and rid the world of ISIS, and bring Hope and happiness and peace....

The man was one of the KGBs top men, the KGB were some of the most ruthless, violent, subversive people in their time , rivaling even the MOSSAD (who people hate)

Yet they SOMEHOW think that this guy is now some Paragon of peace and equality......

The guy is and will always be KGB, if you dont think this man has an agenda hes working behind the scenes thats very very bad for a lot of people, then you are not being objective.

This man has jailed and had political opposition murdered......

How is it all the sudden everyone forgets this?

Its bizzare

This "SOMEONE ANYONE ....HELP!" mentality, is exactly how we got people like Mao, Stalin, and Hitler

Were watching history repeat itself and no one bats an eye

Maybe some visuals?....

Alexander Valterovich Litvinenko (Russian: Алекса́ндр Ва́льтерович Литвине́нко; IPA: [ɐlʲɪˈksandr ˈvaltərəvʲɪtɕ lʲɪtvʲɪˈnʲɛnkə]; 30 August 1962[2][3] [4 December 1962 by father's account][4] – 23 November 2006) was a fugitive officer of the Russian FSB secret service, who specialised in tackling organised crime.[1][5] In November 1998, Litvinenko and several other FSB officers publicly accused their superiors of ordering the assassination of the Russian tycoon and oligarch Boris Berezovsky.

He fled with his family to London and was granted asylum in the United Kingdom, where he worked as a journalist, writer and consultant for the British intelligence services.

During his time in London, Litvinenko wrote two books, Blowing Up Russia: Terror from Within and Lubyanka Criminal Group, wherein he accused the Russian secret services of staging the Russian apartment bombings and other terrorism acts in an effort to bring Vladimir Putin to power. He also accused Putin of ordering the murder in October 2006 of the Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya.

On 1 November 2006, Litvinenko suddenly fell ill and was hospitalised in what was established as a case of poisoning by radioactive polonium-210 which resulted in his death on 23 November. He became the first known victim of lethal Polonium 210-induced acute radiation syndrome.

Before and after Putin made an example of Litvenko...by poisoning him with Plutonium. He died in 06.

kicker is,

call out the zionists for what they are and youre a jew hater...go figure. the fundy xtians are the worst sometimes. otherwise smart people get all squishy and reverant "we must support israel".

bravo sierra.

well, considering who runs media, i shouldnt be surprised.

What I find funny is that many decrying the USA role in arming Syrian terrorists (which was wrong let me state that, the west was wrong) are now praising Putin for stating he will do the same thing in Palestine.....

Seems a bit hypocritical to me.

Granted the West screwed up and screwed up epicly in Syria and we have a LOT to answer for.
And granted Russia may be doing the "right" thing in Syria.

But lets not all kid ourselves. Putin is not some trustworthy lovable character and him arming terrorists in Palestine just as wrong as the west arming Syrian terrorists.

Putting people behind a wall and denying them basic human rights, water, food, medical supplies etc based on their ethnicity then continuing to bombard them indiscriminately causing predominantly civilian casualties is the very definition of genocide. You're right in some ways, the Jews and Arabs in Israel / Palestine should live under equality as one country and one people, however the persecution from my perspective looks one way.

Describing the deaths of innocent civilians, the majority of whom are women and children as collateral damage is disgusting!

How many UN medical centers, official hospitals and medics have Israel targeted during their campaigns?

What about the 'West' arming Israel. Would you not describe Israels actions as instigating terror using our weapons? Oh, i forgot professionally trained armies cant commit terrorism regardless of the target.

Well technically Palestine already has it's own State but others are occupying some of their land and there are severe restrictions on their ability to import.
