there is nothing wrong with using NASA data for the location of the reflectors - it is not practical to search the whole moon for them!!

Here's the summary of all the experiments they did - episode 104 - notice that they checked whether there was reflectivity off location where the reflectors were not.....

Perhaps you could explain how using NASA's location data invalidates this experiment?

That is called "hand waving" and it is an invalid form of argument, kin to ad hominem. Can you disprove their results? Or the results of literally tens of thousands of other amateur astronomers who have verified the reflective markers hand-placed on the moon's surface? No? While I don't agree with much of what you write, I do agree that mythbusters is not what I'd consider a reliable scientific source. However, they did provide some scientifically valuable information, specifically, how the experiment was conducted, and nearly enough information (with a tiny bit of extra research on your part) for unbiased third parties to replicate the experiment with different equipment in different locations.

So in other words, if you don't trust their results, you can do it yourself, or find someone who has a strong laser and a detector for the laser reflection and work with them to conduct your own independent experiment. So, between that mythbusters video and the locations of the landing sites with laser reflectors on the moon you can find on the internet, you now have access to enough information to do the science yourself. Will you do it?
