Two men were shot in a parking lot outside the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland Sunday afternoon, SWAT officials told News 8.

Those men possibly had explosives on them, SWAT officials said. Everyone at the center, which was hosting a Muhammad Art exhibit, was told to find a safe place inside the building.

SWAT members were already at the scene for the art event.

Rowlett/Sachse Scanner reported on Facebook that a suspect was inside a nearby Walmart, off Garland Avenue and Naaman Forest Boulevard with a hand grenade.

A 1,000-foot radius around the Walmart was shut down and the Academy Store was evacuated, according to that page.

This story is still developing.

Looks like the suspect may be in a near by Wal-Mart, possibly with a hand grenade.

Possible that suspect(s) had Ak-47

Fox News is saying it was a Muhammad cartoon contest.

That seems smart.

The very event put on by a particular new York lady?
Hmm.. should she be put on trial for inciting hate thus bring in the extremist killers?
Surely there were threads posted before this happened.. even today I believe.

This event was about free speech right?

But hey it is her right to do this...

Which I get, but how hard do we need to poke the bear to prove a point.

Hate begets hate.

Bears like this need to be poked until they're submissively not killing anyone for pictures drawn or until dead.

Either is fine.

Fox Link

Yes the Islamophobe queen Pam Geller arranged for the contest to take place.

But the FOX link says the cops wouldn't even confirm the shooting had anything to do with the contest.

Yes it's her right. And she "IS" poking the bear... But she can do it in new York. Or the middle of a desert would be better. Just not around innocent people... she new full well she would pull the extremist out to play. ( thumbs down )

my device is crashing a bit.. so if I have lots of edits forgive me all.

I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out this was a trap set up to tempt Islamic extremism.

That thought did cross my mind. But by whom? Geller or the government?

Do we know if she actually attended?

If she didn't then she isn't proving a point at but just putting others at risk.

Local police FBI Department of Homeland Security who knows.

But if they are extremist and they capture one of them alive. I sure hope they don't deprive him of any sleep. (Sarcasm)

If this is the very Exhibit which was set up by Geller. Than you have a very good question.

No report I can see so far suggest she did or didn't.

It is sad anyone would be at risk for drawing pictures.

My only question is,

SWAT members were already at the scene for the art event.

Why were they even there? Did they anticipate something going down or is that routine to have SWAT teams at art exhibits. It befuddles me

The collectible value of the art on display just went way up.
What are the chances it was all staged with that in mind?

I don't know just looking at this logically and not taking any guesses. Pam Geller is hosting a cartoon drawing contest of Mohammed. Radical groups have vowed to strike in the US. If I was a police commissioner I would want to keep a very close eye on that event .

If you weren't prepared for that can you imagine the #storm it would create?

If they want to bait extremist. Great! I'd love to watch from afar....
But it should never be done around the populated areas.... explosives and bullets have quite the range and damage I hear.

With the Wal-Mart closers in select cities including in Texas, Wal-Mart has made it in this breaking news which is a very weird conincidence I must say.
