‘X-Files’ officially returning to Fox in Summer 2015

It’s been more than 13 years since “The X-Files” aired on network TV, but on Tuesday Fox announced the spooky sci-fi series is returning for a six-episode run that will begin in the summer of 2015.

“The X-Files,” which originally premiered in Sept. 1993, aired for nine seasons and earned 16 Emmy nominations during its run. The series centered on FBI agents Scully, played by Gillian Anderson, and Mulder, played by David Duchovny. Both stars will be reprising their roles for the reboot.

No idea how it is going to be spun, but the original cast is in it. Can't wait to see how they bring it back after this long, and who they bring back besides Mulder and Scully.....

Yep, it's a reboot.

Nowadays, people in the industry either really are lazy when it comes to writing or investors are too greedy and are not willing to take risks since they know people will like whatever reheated non-artistic crap they will dish out.

X-files and Twin Peaks coming back? Whoohoo! Very excited about this coming back, I just hope it's better than "I Want To Believe".

it's going to be a limited series apparently, but they are probably just playing it safe to gauge viewer interest.
If the show is good and gets lots of attention, of course they will squeeze the franchise.
after all, with government spying, fake wars, police state...the world is ripe with issues that the series that feed off from, lots of reasons why people can relate to what Mulder and Scully are fighting for.

and if it takes place in very current times, without spoiling much i will say:
THEY BETTER ADDRESS WHAT HAPPENED IN 2012 BECAUSE I WAS EXPECTING AN X FILES THAT YEAR.

maybe the entire mini series will be all about what happened 22 december 2012.

My thread didn't start in the TV forum...it was in the aliens forum and got moved. When I searched I did not see yours, but now that it is in the TV forum it comes up for me.
