Don't make a big deal out of it. I already believe in Jesus so it wouldn't be that big a switch.

Let me put it simply, there are not a lot of Mormons where I live, but those that I've meet are people of high integrity, intelligence and vision.

Mormons are not obsessed with conversion, they have an attitude of "we know what we know" and "if you want to know what we know, that is just fine too"

I find that refreshing. The only thing is that they look a little too white, and I would be just another white guy. But I think they don't advertise as much as others that's why.

Oh and.... if I ever get a chance ......voting Romney looks better and better........KIDDING

Well if south park is right you are choosing correctly.
Outside if that off chance, you sure you want to choose a religion based on small sample size?

Except you would believe Joseph Smith to be a prophet of God...

I'm just going to leave this here, lol:

You know I guess I should make a trip to Main Church of Latter Day Saints and make a final decision, might as well convert at the center.

Mormon doctrine is not as straighforward as it looks at first glance. There are some VERY eccentric teachings at the centre of it, which don't get presented on first acquaintance.

No offense Daaskapital

But you are quoting what is vulgar and offensive show. SouthPark is not every man's dream cartoon just so you know.

Some of us consider ourselves, intellectuals

Yes, you have that right. But it would not be very smart.

You should look into their beliefs first. Specifically Joseph Smith being a fraud .. and it being able to be proven.

One is his fraudulent translation of Egyptian scrolls, another is his idea that native americans were actually Jews.

There are a number of other things as well, look it up or don't.

eheheheh

I am sure your "ways" work with some people.

But if you want to accuse Joseph of being fraud, proof is on you.

You only cited what you perceive to be be the Mormon people's outlook on life. Do you have any specific quotes from the Mormon doctrine you'd like to add?

Anything that might make others see why you've made this change?

You've managed to convince me that you're a wind-up merchant, as they say in these parts.
I'll leave you to it.

That's just fine with me, think whatever you want.

If I were you, I would save that pent up wrath for "those who say they are Jews but do lie"

Just saying. There is worse out there than bunch of Mormons you perceive as "weird"

Good questions

HERE WE GO, HOW MUCH TIME YOU GOT

1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisaical glory.
11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
