Howdy, a synopsis... er, mostly we're drinking, smoking, playing cards, dancing and I think we talked about whirled peas a while back. Charles talked about this thread a few days back on ATS Live radio and said this but left out the topics we were discussing.

Any topic you want is fair game from the weather to bad relatives to politics and religious beliefs. Glad you joined us, grab a drink. Correction, one Margarita coming up!

Why thank you! Well, I am shocked that I've walked past this joint several times and never thought to peep in! It might have been the 'almost certainly not for you' disclaimer, or the fact I didn't know Hernando-- you know, you just never know about these back-alley places!

But it comes highly recommended, and I'm lovin the drinks and music, and I might ask that cute guy over there to shag. Wait, NOOOO... if you are 'across the pond' from me, that means something TOTALLY different!!! Where I live, it is a dance, the official state dance, in fact.

Oh gawd, I am reminded of accidentally freaking out a couple of German exchange students who stayed at my house years ago... back when I didn't know the 'other' definition of shag. And I was making small talk about our state symbols & such. I think I need a drink.

That's pretty funny. Numerous languages, dialects and slang here so not to worry. I was going to try out some of my rusty Mandarin on Guohua but god knows what I'd end up really saying.

Here have another Margarita.

The ladies here are going to teach me how to play cards! Yes, that's exciting, the husband said to learn strip poker, What's that?

Cards? I have been playing poker since I was about 8 or 9. My dad taught me. We never played for money... just those colorful chips. Strip poker??? I am waaay to shy for that! I mean, I'm pretty good at poker, but... how many layers of clothes can we wear?

Now Spades, that's a fun card game too! And Russian Bank. Anybody remember that one?

Cheers!

...god knows I wouldn't even know what you were trying to say, lol. (Sadly, Americans seem to be the most non-multi-lingual people on the planet!)

Hey thanks for the *hick* drink!

Mostly we drink, shoot the bull, toss around a little music and occasionally delve into deeper topics like man's inhumanity to man and whirled peas.

What in the sam hill are 'whirled peas' ???
Someone else mentioned them.
Never heard of them.
Do you whirl peas at a target, lol?

We do have a lot of trees here. And mountains, and ocean at the other end. It can get pretty hot & humid in the summer, but today was fantastic-- mid 70's! I do like it here. It's pretty laid back, but you can get to a big city (Atlanta) quick enough.

Music? I love most any. Not too keen on rap, or the really twangy Country music. I like a lot of old stuff-- 60's, 70's & some 80's. I'm enjoying listening to yours, too!

Yes, your weather, sounds fantastic, does it get 115 all day and at 03:00 AM it's still 109 degrees or we consider cool when it's only 100 at 05:00 AM we have two seasons, Hot and Not So Hot!

It's suppose to cooling off in September for most folks, here it's 11:35 PM and 99 degrees. That's actually cool.
It was 103 last nite at 11:30 PM.

I'll take your humidity and sweat, at lest if you stand under a tree and you have a breeze your cool, here if you have a Tree to stand under and have a breeze it's like opening your Oven!

Yes, Actually my husband found 7 acres with in 30 minutes of a lake Sidney I think, and close to Atlanta.
Raw land with Black walnut trees and other tall trees, a stream and No HOA.
We did not have to Build and could just do our thing as my husband says.
It says hunting and fishing, So, 7 3/4 acre for $18000.

He's already e-mailed and left a message with the Realtor.

Yikes-- No, it's rather rare for the temp to reach 100, at least in the upstate. It's not usually this cool at this time of year-- we're having a little 'cold snap.' Before that, it would be about 70 before sunrise, then up to 90 during the hottest part of the day, then down to 82 or so at night.

You like the 12 Girl Band music?
They are Chinese and each have one or two instruments they are specialist with.
These girls you see here are now retired.
the Chinese Government which Official Sanctions their Concerts in China and Over seas has retired these girls after 10 years of service and there are new girls that are also called the 12 Girl Band, there are actual 14 Girls in the Band two extras as back ups encase of illness.

I guess that was more information than most people needed, but China is a Totally Different Country and People Just Don't Truly Understand How Much Control The Central Committee Still Has Over All Aspects of Chinese Every Day Life!

*Yawn, good morning everyone (as I slowly stumble to the espresso machine.)

Hoping today will be a good day, at least a half decent day. Not holding breath.

@gouhua - 呢 后 马 (I hope that came out right, no guarantees.
)

@new_here - Whirled peas is a subject of discussion revolving around the state of mankind which it quite possibly has never achieved except for maybe once or twice very briefly.
    Whiiirrlldd peeeasss

The mythical state of human harmony much alluded to but rarely achieved.

This reminds me of the two mythical personages who used to be (before Maggie) so important in British politics, namely Laura Norder and Solomon Binding.
As in "What this country needs is more Laura Norder..."
"We're going to make a Solomon Binding agreement..."

Ahh.. yeah! That's what I meant to say.

One thing I learned in TPTB in the US is never admit you made a mistake.

Actually I was trying for "How are you today?"

*Sigh, guess my linguistic prowess leaves something to be desired.

OMG just translated what you posted back in Mandarin. If that was what you meant..

Thanks, I'm a coffee drinker (thanks to my student days).
I tend to sit quietly at a corner table, reading a book and half-listening to what's going on.
