You must surely understand the difference between the US-Israel relations, and the US-Afghanistan, US-Libya relationships.

The latter is uninvited colonialism, the former is a mutual entente cordiale.

Yet, it's the former which appears to get so many ATS members in a flap.

I know what Zionism is.

Explain what relevance it has to international affairs.

'Anti-Semitic' is a term which means hatred towards the Jews (a specific ethno-cultural group), and nothing to do with people who are broadly classed as Semitic (such as Arabs).

I hope this helps your understanding of the issue.

Sure didn't seem like you knew. www.businessinsider.com...

Explain what relevance what has to international affairs?

Still doesn't. But we shall leave it.

The term was co-opted but we shall leave that too.

Your 180 is amusing. Guess you were just trying to pick a fight...or something.

My understanding of the issue is crystal, but thanks for playing.

That's fair enough that you wish the US to isolate herself from other nations.

The problem is that so many other people thinly veil their hatred for Jewish people under the guise of being 'anti-Israel' or 'anti-zionist'.

Yet, we get barely any complaints about Western countries invading, funding, colonising and exploiting countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, the Yemen, etc.

I understand your position, and equally respect it. But, this thread isnt about anti-semitism or any other form of hate. Its about the fact that Zionism has infiltrated our Govt, Churchs, and schools, and basically, when it comes to US foreign policy, Israel calls the shots...not the Prez, not congress nor the people.

Mossad's spies knew about 9/11 before it happened. They were there to witness it and celebrate its occurence. Our so-called allie (Israel) did nothing to warn us. That makes Israel 'accessory after the fact', a punishable crime in homeland America. So why cater to them? Because they control us and will continue to do so until they have sucked us dry. Then they will feed our corpses to the nations that have grown to hate us on account of their reproach.

Its not about Jews, its about corrupt banking, politics and propaganda...its about Zionism.

Thats just plain ignorance. There are plenty of Jews who reject Zionism, myself being one. Why should USA (a sovriegn nation) be subject to the decisions of the illegal formation of Israel under the illegally formed Leage of Nations???

The Jews are not supposed to re-enter the Land until the Messiah arrives. I see no Messiah on earth, so what's the deal?

As a born Catholic, that was what I was told. Any youngster in my (baby boomer) day would have been curious as to why so many religions coming from same sources? There were never any good answers, while none were ever rammed down the throat either, but at least you could make some sense out of Jews waiting for the Messiah, in fact there aren't many nuances to invent to explain the differences between the desires of Catholics and Jews when fundamentally the appearance of the Messiah is what both are waiting for. That both religions, and Islam are heavily factionalised could be considered political Gerrymandering throughout the history itself.
Zionism, I don't get in the rationale, how do you repatriate someone/AKA the individual, who never ever lived in Palestine, the chosen colony, nor whose family tree, (if they had one) had done for millennium. If it were me, and somebody told me I must go to Palestine to forfill a quasi-religious misnomer made by human beings, I would have told them to feck off. but the deed was done over a near couple of centuries, (not just the late 1800's) some of it inspired by Christian groups and notable speechifiers much earlier and totally suspect.

Zionism was about colonialism, perhaps more and achieved by the usual phony wars and false flags, like blowing up the King David hotel. Ben Gurion would have known all about that, he also used jewish ethnicity as a reason for being repatriated to Palestine, a very dodgy area after millennia, a very dodgy area in general.

First off - I am curious why I should care what "John" has to say about the topic? John is an anonymous commenter on the article, and honestly he sounds like someone who belongs to stormfront.

I do not agree with supporters of our country's relationship with Israel, as I think its more than a bit much at times, don't understand why we give so much money and arms to one of the wealthiest countries in the world etc. But disagreeing with policy is one thing, the "they are evil" type mentality is extremism, and it is hatred.

Israel would not be getting all these arms and monies etc if America had simply said no, so it is your politicians ultimately that you are angry with; if you are unhappy with your politicians - vote them out, change things in your government to where it is by the people and for the people once again.

but to hate an entire race of people is - quite frankly - extremism and I just don't agree with that.

If you do not agree with United States foreign policy... help to change it. But hate will get you no where because what you disagree with is not a race or a nationality, its your very own politicians who you and your fellow countrymen voted in in the first place.

That said, start writing letters and making phone calls and tell your representatives where you stand on this person who is convicted of espionage getting out of prison.

Second off - why are you reiterating an article that was first published by Press TV? You do realize this piece in its entirety is a press tv article, and they ARE biased. I would be the first person who would stand against zionism, but you are taking this to an extreme that is uncalled for. I wont support extremism of any kind.. from anyone.

These are the moments in our lives that matter Beezer. These that we are in right now...

The exact text of what Martin Niemoller said,
and which appears in the Congressional Record,
October 14, 1968, page 31636 is:

"When Hitler attacked the Jews
I was not a Jew, therefore I was not concerned.
And when Hitler attacked the Catholics,
I was not a Catholic, and therefore, I was not concerned.
And when Hitler attacked the unions and the industrialists,
I was not a member of the unions and I was not concerned.
Then Hitler attacked me and the Protestant church --
and there was nobody left to be concerned."

Niemoller was a pastor in the German Confessing Church
who spent eight and one-half years in a Nazi concentration camp.

I have spent my entire life voting and boycotting... what have you done.. because apparently there were not enough voting and boycotting alongside me.

This is about US foreign policy... do you have suggestions on changing said policy?

"Infiltrate" is a pretty strong word. There are many people with many different beliefs in this country.

I would say that citizens with distinct personal beliefs have been voted into office and they helped to shape policy according to those beliefs - and according to the constituents beliefs who voted for them in the first place.

There are more Christian Zionists than Jewish ones in this country from what I have seen.

Hello, I am a Shia Muslim who has half her family in Lebanon. I understand more than most people concerning zionism etc. However, facts are not being presented in the OP, solutions are not being made either.

When facts are not presented, and solutions are not made, it is easy for everyone to believe it is a topic based in hatred. If you don't like US foreign policy then the OP should be highlighting things (outside of 9/11 conspiracy theories) that are actual policy that is harmful to America as a whole.

There was one video posted in the OP saying that our government is discussing allowing a man out of prison who was convicted of espionage...then the OP linked to a belief of 9/11 conspiracy theories written by press tv...

then the OP quoted someone who commented on the article who sounded like a member of stormfront... and believe me I KNOW what those people sound like as I had one of "those" people burn my house to the ground before...

So... lets talk actual fact, or not talk at all... I am not a person who enjoys racism and hatred... I prefer discussing fact.

But, But....the Zionists were not exactly invited colonists into Palestine either, in the twentieth century anyway, and not by the natives. But the nation of Jews were invited back...by the Persians er, back a bit. The entente cordiale however is shot full of holes since it was about colonialism in the first place..a bit like our gang can have nukes, but no new kids on the block.

Perhaps you don't know your history so well.

There were many proposals for a Jewish Homeland btw. Palestine was not the only thought ever on the table. The main alternative was this one:

Main article: British Uganda Program

The British Uganda Program was a plan to give a portion of British East Africa to the Jewish people as a homeland.

The offer was first made by British Colonial Secretary Joseph Chamberlain to Theodore Herzl's Zionist group in 1903. He offered 5,000 square miles (13,000 km2) of the Mau Plateau in what is today Kenya. The offer was a response to pogroms against the Jews in Russia, and it was hoped the area could be a refuge from persecution for the Jewish people.

The idea was brought to the World Zionist Organization's Zionist Congress at its sixth meeting in 1903 meeting in Basel. There a fierce debate ensued. The African land was described as an "ante-chamber to the Holy Land", but other groups felt that accepting the offer would make it more difficult to establish a Jewish state in Palestine. Before the vote on the matter, the Russian delegation stormed out in opposition. In the end, the motion to consider the plan passed by 295 to 177 votes.

The next year, a three-man delegation was sent to inspect the plateau. Its high elevation gave it a temperate climate, making it suitable for European settlement. However, the observers found a dangerous land filled with lions and other creatures. Moreover, it was populated by a large number of Maasai who did not seem at all amenable to an influx of Europeans.

After receiving this report, the Congress decided in 1905 to politely decline the British offer. Some Jews, who viewed this as a mistake, formed the Jewish Territorialist Organization with the aim of establishing a Jewish state anywhere

en.wikipedia.org... The article above is a good read, to read it all in its entirety.

Two things stopped it from being in Africa, the few who really did want Palestine, and the lions in Africa... I believe if it weren't for the dangerous animals the homeland of the Jews would today be in Africa.

That said, Palestinians had no problem originally with the Jews moving to Palestine. The earliest settlers to the area purchased land and started businesses and lived just fine side by side with their Palestinian neighbors.

But this situation wasn't good enough for those with a homeland mindset (which could have easily have turned out to have been in Africa) ie: Those who wanted a Jewish state. You see many broken treaties, and many lies told - and eventually lots of death and killing - for this homeland they wanted so desperately.

They used religion in order to gain more supporters of this... but religion wasn't the main driving factor, as you have noticed the jewish zionists are not in the least bit religious.

How about Rahm Emanuel? He is a socialist with dual citizenship. I consider him an enemy of America, he was part of Obama's crew. What was a foreign national doing in our White House, shredding our Constitution?

If thats not enough, what about Jonathan Pollard? This dual citizen spied on USA for Israel, communicating US military secrets...including nuclear launch codes.

Then we have the Mossad operatives that filmed the events of 9/11 while dancing around like pentacostal fools.

Oh yeah, then there was the sinking of USS Liberty. Im sure that was purely accidental. Tell that to the families that lost their loved ones to our ally.

Not to mention the ADL and their "anti-hate crime" data base that records data such as threads like this and shares them with Israel.

Above all, not one president in my generation has been appointed to the White House (not elected) without first visiting Israel and wearing the presidential yamaka.

Again, this has nothing to do with Jews. There are more Jews in Chile than there are in Israel. Its about Zionists INFILTRATING and erroding the core of America.

I don't understand what 180 turn you're referring to?

My position is consistent:

Zionism is a fringe concept which has little support or relevance amongst Israelis.

Yet, some people like to go on and on about 'Zionism' as a very thinly-veiled way of openly being anti-Semetic. Before long, the differences between Israel, Jews and Zionism become so blurred.

Anti-Semitism is very real and just as prevalent as ever. The only other people I can think of are the Roma who suffer this insidious, centuries-old hatred.

It's amazing that in 2014, these two groups still turn normally educated and rational people into uneducated, medieval, superstitious pitchfork-wielders.

Actually, it is well documented that Israel warned the US government and security agencies on several occasions that it's network had been picking up threats and plans to attack the US and hijack planes. Yes Mossad knew what was coming and warned the US, the question is why didn't the Bush government do anything about it?

For the record:

During the Six-Day War between Israel and several Arab nations, the United States of America maintained a neutral country status.[9] Several days before the war began, the USS Liberty was ordered to proceed to the eastern Mediterranean area to perform a signal intelligence collection mission in international waters near the north coast of Sinai, Egypt.[

en.wikipedia.org...

The Liberty was a SPY ship.

In INTERNATIONAL WATERS. In other words, it had every right to be there. And considering the situation at the time (a full on war, with the possibility of the Russians getting involved, we had very legit reasons to be there.

It's quite funny you mention Russia, Germany, Iran, ect as countries who all had spies in the US, as some sort of justification or dismissal for the Israelis to do the same. I'll point out the irony that all of those countries you listed were ENEMIES of the U.S., or were waging some sort of behind the scenes war against us.

Yet Israel is supposed to be our "friend". So, what;s their excuse for having so many freaking spies involved in shady crap on our soil? Especially when our taxpayer dollars are being sent to these clowns to support them. Israel constantly bites the hand that feeds it.
