It was almost as if the questions were 'geared' to allow him to give his answers. To go as far as to say that Pakistan was complicit because of their silence on the matter, was almost as if a stage was being set. I also didn't believe his remarks about Boeing, or was it RR, I am not sure but it's in the video, told him that they believed that the plane was in Pakistan in a Taliban area...Really? He went on at great lengths to dismiss the sightings of the fishermen in the Maldives, who, quite frankly, I choose to believe. Well, now we have reports from Australia and also the BBC that the plane was indeed sending signals on an hourly basis as they (Australia) managed to pick those signals up and from which they were able to ascertain that the plane was travelling due south which is in the opposite direction to what the General suggested. The Australians also stated that they couldn't understand why this information hadn't been released to the public. Now, to my mind, if the Australians picked those signals up are we supposed to believe that the American's didn't? because, according to the General, they have much better equipment up in the Pakistan region than they do in the Indian ocean. Again, really? You have one of the most sophisticated air bases in the world with state of the art systems down there that can even allow a space shuttle to land in an emergency, and we are supposed to believe that they didn't pick up a signal? Something stinks people!

If this proves to be the case (2,300 or so off the Coast of Australia), that would almost absolutely mean that the satellite pings ALL centered at or very near Parallel 40.
It would, likewise, mean (if Malaysian military radar reports were accurate) that once the plane crossed the Peninsular Malaysia into the Strait of Malacca, it turned due south (virtually), and flew (probably) across some of Sumatra.
The area they have highlighted as the new refined search area appears to put the distance from the Malacca Strait at roughly 3,500 miles...which, at Typical Cruising Speed would take approximately 6.25 hours to transit.
Maybe they had a little more fuel on board than the "7.5 hours" once reported. Otherwise, this would surpass the 7.5 hour number we've been fed.
But - just another day with Big Brother (always tricking & teasing).

I don't know if the fisherman story is true, but just now, on CNN, I heard that Malaysia has supplied "specific" coordinates to India but won't make them public.

That said...
I turned the channel, and on Fox (thanks for the head's up, ATSers), I heard that the jet is in Pakistan and Boeing knows it.

Turned the channel. On MSNBC, I heard the (old? already?) news about the search off the Australian coast.

With all of this conflicting data, is anyone else reminded of the film CHINATOWN?

That's interesting. Malaysia is mad at the USA for moving all resources to search near Australia, so they are now partnering with India..and not sharing what they know with anyone but India. Proud, arrogant Malaysia. They probably feel the same way about the USA.

Ukraine is holding out on us for their background checks on their 2 people on board. I know you're all busy with your civil issues and Russia on the border but come on!!

SEPANG - Ukraine is the only country which has yet to complete the background check on its two nationals onboard flight MH370.

Russian authorities cleared its sole passenger yesterday and submitted the details to Malaysia yesterday evening.

Don't really know what they would expect to find...if drift and currents have affected it to the tune of a couple/few hundred miles.

Yes this is my first post and I was compelled to join because everything has been beaten to death otherwise....I believe this is highly suspicious and interconnected... those two nations havent given backround checks ? However the russian in question knows martial arts and was a proficient scuba diving instructor kgb skillset if not mossad...in fact more has been released by jewish israeli press about the russian than russia itself...second question that I believe everyone is missing what route did this plane travel prior to beijing....is that info known can we backtrack ? Does the registration number fly into unkraine Russia israel prior or did it return from beijing ? It might bring us closer to the truth if were trying to dissect important human or load cargo.

And yet another talking head on CNN said that he put the last known coordinates into a simulator, adjusted for fuel capacity/fuel already likely used and then flew it until it ran out of fuel...in Mogadishu, Somalia.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott has announced objects possibly related to the search for the missing Malaysian Airlines plane have been found in the southern Indian Ocean.

Mr Abbott says new satellite images show two possible objects in the ocean and an Australian Orion aircraft is en route to the area.

The plane has been missing since it disappeared en route to Beijing from Malaysia on March 8.
