I find it funny how one or two Canadians here are taking this issue as -

Where have i said, and please feel free to quote me from ANY post or thread i have written -

"You must think this...." or "you must say this...."

Keep looking, because you wont find even one instance...

As for "thought nazis"..I'll leave that to certain government departments.

Please give me written references where i have told anyone here on ATS in 9 years what to think or say..As you said yourself, everyone is entitled to their opinions, mine obviously doesnt fit in with yours, so you label me "thought nazi"..which is more than a little hypocritical, don't you think ?? Compromise is always good.
I honestly believe the Russians on the ground don't want this to kick off as much, if not more than the Ukranians.
Thats why this would be better left in the hands of the local commanders, soldiers dont want to fight.

Of course they don't normally want to fight, bullets do happen to have the "right-of-way." Take away their guns, give them a lot of beer and vodka, 6% will duke it out and 94% will watch and laugh.

In the 21st Century that's not going to happen. The US and UK governments as well as other world powers will not stand idly by and watch Russia take over Ukraine. Right now the situation in the Crimea is serious and if Mr Putin thinks he can order his military to advance further into Ukraine without any military backlash from around the world then Mr Putin should think again. It wouldn't surprise me if the UK and US have special forces in the Crimea assessing the situation.

Ukraine's importance isn't as important in that scenario as a member of NATO. If they refuse to help a NATO member, that will be the real game changer. Every piss ant little dictator will instantly grow 6 feet taller and start stomping around. No offense to Ukraine, it's just the politics of the situation and the world ties it holds vs those of fellow NATO powers.
