This is a good observation. The one point is also he is in control of the gas that 'powers' the EU. Without the pipeline in Ukraine or the Baltic the EU will have to turn elsewhere. Like the ME. This would drive demand and cost and we could see higher prices in the US as a trickle affect.

They have nothing to lose. They could care less about sanctions...they make enough with China, Iran...etc...they have the ability to control and dictate what happens.

Russia has never done anything that was not calculated. Central and South American ties should also worry the US.

What makes you think that it has already reached a point of no return?

The fact that everything is planned on both sides. (The Coup, the snipers, the military exercises, the strategic placement of troops, Threats etc.)

No one will back off now. There is no way of a diplomatic solution, nor is it the goal. They just negotiate who will get what piece and in the end, boom!

Not to mention the fact that the media here in the west has almost gone silent on Ukraine aside from maybe one small report here and there. It does not feel right to me that they have been talking about that freaking missing plane for a week now. It really seems intentional.. Unless that plane had nukes on it, there is no way in hell that story even compares to this situation in Ukraine.

This is pretty clear now . Russia is not going to stop with crimea . Ukraine won't and shouldn't allow Russia free reign . Ukraine can't fight Russia in a full scale war . And hence others will become involved . Poland turkey eu and us .. What china does is going to be interesting.
Still if a diplomatic solution is possible , well then good.

It looks like both sides are getting ready and there are unconfirmed reports the US have brought in an aircraft carrier. Batten down the hatches everyone!

They will ship stuff in through poland just like they did in Syria. Guarantee there is already weapons shipments landing in poland you dont expect the US to admit it publicly there still denying they shipped weapons into Syria.Even though US arms has been seen in the hands of the rebels the US doesnt have to get directly involved to cause the Russians alot of grief. We have seen in the past the Russians lack of control of local populations. Look at afghanistan they got beat up bad by a bunch of nomads riding horses fought them to a stand still and eventual drove them out the country. We seen it again in chechnya they were driven out and only through mass murder and torture did they come back. Yet still they never gained control even to this day as they say that fight isnt over. Russia can come in strong but they never learned you must build up infrastructures and make the people better off or it only gets worse. If Russia had went into afghanistan and built schools,hospitals,self defense forces and a government they would still own afghanistan. But they see a strong central government as a threat.

Yup I always keep track of whats going on. When theres something, i will definately update here.

Russian army keeps on building up at the border. I expect to be very busy with updates soon.

Vladimir Putin did say he would send in the military if things escalated in Ukraine. Due to the on-going protests and now the confirmed death of a protester I think this will be a turning point. However, the bloke at the United Nations Security Council meeting in New York has said that Russia does not want war...slightly confusing signs.
