A small TnT blast at a mine will register around a 1 to 1.5 mag quake. It certainly could register on a nearby seismo without the world instantly knowing about it.

what it shows is that if the meteors trajectory was triggered by some event, lets say a collision, there is much larger chance they were shot from the same gun..to have the same direction and to hit in such short period of time
